Ch13 - She Insisted I Was Gay

After the short two-day break was over, the six reported back to the company again.

Everyone quickly realized that Wang Chao and Xie Zhuxing were currently quarreling.

Usually, he would always stick to Xie Zhuxing’s side. No matter where they went, the two would be together, they even had to be shoulder to shoulder when they sat down.

Wang Chao was late today as always, and Xie Zhuxing was sitting near the edge as usual. The seat next to him was empty, and the other members all subconsciously knew that it was reserved for Wang Chao. In the end, Wang Chao insisted that he wasn’t going to sit there when he came in. He walked to the other side and shoo-ed away Cheng Yao from the seat and sat down himself, his facial expression plastered with the words, “no one talk to me”.

The members who were sandwiched in the middle looked at Wang Chao on the right and Xie Zhuxing on the left, no one dared to ask anything.

Xie Zhuxing pretended that he couldn’t feel their gaze on him.

Yesterday afternoon, when he rejected Wang Chao on his offer to live together, Wang Chao threw down his pride and left like a child. Xie Zhuxing thought about it until evening, and decided that he didn’t want to offend Wang Chao, so he called him, wanting to explain his decision. The first time he didn’t pick up, the second time it was a girl who picked up. She said, “Xiao Chao-ge told me to tell you that if you don’t want to sleep with him, there’s a lot of other people who want to. He doesn’t care about you at all.” Then, she hung up.

…So irritating yet so funny.

Duan Yikun walked in and the others all stood up to greet him, only Wang Chao sat still, not moving as he greeted him perfunctorily.

Duan Yikun naturally wasn’t going to say anything about him. “Not bad, now that you’ve had a two day break, you should be full of energy to move on. From today on, you’ll start learning the song and dance for the title song  of your debut album. You won’t be divided into groups. Everyone’s going to be together, so you’ll also need to cultivate a team understanding as well.”

Debut album! Title song! This quickly excited the youngsters.

Duan Yikun changed the topic of discussion and said, “Since this is going to be a team, you obviously need a team leader. You guys have lived together for a month, you should have a basic understanding of each other’s habits and attitudes. The task of choosing a leader will be left to you guys. When you’ve finished thinking about it, send me a private WeChat message. I will keep it confidential, think of it as an anonymous ballot. Whoever has the most votes will be the leader.”

The main song’s name was “Summer Ice”, it was similar to most of the debut tracks of many boy groups. There was stable choreography, a dynamic melody, a lively rhythm, and inspirational lyrics.

The singing needed for this kind of song wasn’t too difficult, what was going to be difficult was the dance. The dance foundation of the members all differed from each other. After the six dance teachers demonstrated the song, aside from Xie Zhuxing who could easily mimic the dance, everyone else had to follow their own teachers as they watched, learned, and practiced again and again.

The worst one was Wang Chao. He only had one month’s worth of dance foundation and he didn’t like to be active, thus his body coordination was very poor. Don’t even mention doing the choreography once all the way, he practically couldn’t even remember those complicated dance moves. His teacher demonstrated them over and over, but he forgot them over and over. As the teacher got impatient and yelled at him, he didn’t talk back and just stood there. When that was done , he still couldn’t remember. After repeating the process many times, the teacher got even more riled up and their scolding started to turn worse and worse.

“Retract your waist! Thrust your hip!” The teacher said, “I’ve already repeated it a hundred times! Which is the waist, which is the hip? You’re handsome but it seems all the nourishment went to your face, I’ve never taught anyone so dumb!”

The teacher’s voice was very loud, causing everyone to turn and look at them. Even Xie Zhuxing looked over as he with knitted brows.

Wang Chao was already unhappy, now he was shamed by the scolding . Then he thought that he was just never going to be able to learn it, so he simply stood up and said, “Teacher, I’m not doing it anymore.”

The teacher got even more angry. “What did you say?”

Wang Chao made a grave decision, he’ll just let Wang Qi beat him again. He decided to just get this done and over with as he continued, “I said, I’m not doing it anymore, I also don’t want to be…”

“Teacher,” Xie Zhuxing suddenly cut in and said, “he’s never learned how to dance before, I’ll teach him as I practice.”

They were both in the same profession before, even though they didn’t know each other, the teacher had heard about Xie Zhuxing before. In addition, the teacher was currently annoyed because of Wang Chao, so they agreed. They walked to the side and sat down to rest with Xie Zhuxing’s teacher.

Wang Chao’s bad mood fizzled away, he happily watched Xie Zhuxing walk over. He put on a rigid face again and said, “Go, go, I don’t need you to help me. Daddy doesn’t wanna learn.”

“If you don’t want to learn now, then all of the training you’ve done this month is going to go to waste.”

“Who cares if it goes to waste,” Wang Chao said.

Xie Zhuxing thought, Aren’t you also a waste of space?

He didn’t want to argue in front of everyone, so he said, “Let’s talk outside.”

Wang Chao then said pompously, “Why can’t you say it here?”

Xie Zhuxing knew what he liked to hear, he said, “There’s too many people here.”

Wang Chao turned around and walked out arrogantly.

Xie Zhuxing followed him out and said seriously, “Stop messing around, time is tight and everyone is trying to learn, don’t hold everyone back.”

Wang Chao glared at him and said, “Alright, I won’t hold you guys back. I’ll go tell Kun-ge to terminate the contract right now.”

He made the motion to leave, but Xie Zhuxing knew that he was fooling around, so he could only cooperate and tug him.

Wang Chao didn’t want to go anyways, he stood against the wall with his back. Even though his face was still flat, his heart was giddly. Xiao Xie really was close to him, Xiao Xie really was good to him.

He thought that he was hiding it well, when in fact one could tell from the tip of his brows and the corner of his eye that he was just being smug.

Xie Zhuxing was annoyed, but he still had to play along with him. “Are you done going on and on about this matter? Is it really worth it for such a small matter?”

Wang Chao was seriously unconvinced. “What do you mean by small matter? I had to endure so many beatings and pester my brother again and again for the house just because I wanted to live together with you. It’s fine if you don’t appreciate it, but how can you tell me to go find someone else? How can you be so shameless.”

Xie Zhuxing said, “…Didn’t you say that you were scared to live alone because your house was too big?”

“…”

It suddenly became awkward between the two.

Xie Zhuxing thought about it, and forced himself to say, “It’s not that I don’t want to live together with you, one is that my apartment actually really does have a few more months until the lease is up and two, it’s not good if others find out.”

“What do you mean not good?” Wang Chao asked.

Xie Zhuxing said the excuse he thought of last night, “Everyone knows that you have a good familial background, and that we have a close relationship. There’s already people who think that I’m kissing your ass or wanting to flatter you, if I live in your mansion, then what are they gonna see me as?”

Wang Chao really believed it, and said in an unsatisfied tone, “Why do you care what they say? I know you’re not that type of person.”

“I can’t stand that type of gossip.”

Wang Chao was still a little unwilling. “Then how about I move in with you? That’s fine right?”

“That shitty little neighborhood? With the broken door plate? Do you think it’s worth it?”

“…Are you mocking me?” Wang Chao said.

Xie Zhuxing felt that his idiocy was a bit funny and held back as he said, “How am I mocking with you? I live in a one bedroom place, there’s nowhere for you to stay.”

Wang Chao thought about it, Xie Zhuxing’s apartment was small, the living room was small, the bedroom was small and the bed was small. He could only give up and said, “When we debut and you make a lot of money, we’ll move into a big house, then we can live together when the time comes.”

Xie Zhuxing agreed vaguely, “Alright.”

Wang Chao was happy now. He hooked his arm around Xie Zhuxing’s shoulder warmly and said, “Then why couldn’t you just say that yesterday? What type of attitude was that? I was so mad I couldn’t eat my dinner last night.”

Wang Chao said unhappily, “Speaking of that, yesterday was so embarrassing. It’s all your fault.”

“How come it’s my fault again?”

“I bought a girl home yesterday night. She looked fine and her boobs were pretty big. When I took off my pants, I suddenly remembered how you said you didn’t want to come live with me and my mood dissipated at once. It was so annoying to let the girl see that. Right then, your phone call came and I got even angrier when I saw that it was you. I told her how to deal with you, and in the end, this girl must’ve been stupid or something, she insisted that I was gay after you hung up.”

“…”

Wang Chao sweared, “Gay my ass, gay, where does Daddy look gay? Where huh?”
