Ch10 - You Can't Think I'm Annoying

Editor: Sky
He probably didn’t want to add trouble for himself, so from then on, Feng-jie never made any more moves.
The six were busy every day as time flew by. Unknowingly, the training period had come to an end.
August 16, after 10 o’clock. They all went back to the dormitories, exhausted.
Wang Chao and Xie Zhuxing’s room was near the very end of the living space. Wang Chao entered first and Xie Zhuxing followed. However, Ji Jie and Cheng Yao called out to the latter, “Ge? Can you come to our room for a bit? We have something we wanna talk to you about.”
“Alright, I’ll be right there. Let me charge my phone first.”
He went into the room, wanting to charge his phone. Wang Chao didn’t hear what was going on outside. “Where are you going?” he asked.
Xie Zhuxing only said half of it, “Cheng Yao had some questions for me. Stand against the wall by yourself for a bit.”
Wang Chao didn’t have anything against Cheng Yao, so he said, “Then hurry and go, it’s boring to stand alone.”
Xie Zhuxing went to Ji Jie and Cheng Yao’s room. The two wanted to ask him some questions about where he was going to live afterward.
“The lease for my previous apartment is almost up,” Ji Jie said. “I left overnight. As soon as training ends tomorrow, I would have to find another place to live. I thought it would be too much work, so I thought, why not live here? I wouldn’t have to move anything either. I’ll go ask Kun-ge about it tomorrow and see how the rent is calculated. Cheng Yao also doesn’t have a place to live either, so he can stay with me. But the thing is, there’s another empty room. I thought it would be wasteful if we left it there.”
He implied he wanted Xie Zhuxing to stay behind to rent the place out with them.
Xie Zhuxing didn’t really want to live with them. He said, “My apartment is rented in half-year increments. There are still more than three months left within the period. Doesn’t Siyuan live in Tiantongyuan? Maybe he’s going to go back. Have you asked Xiao Mu?”
“Yang Xiao Mu is living with his cousin. He said he doesn’t want to move,” Ji Jie answered.
“Ask Kun-ge about the situation tomorrow. If not, then you and Cheng Yao can just not pay that portion of the rent. There’s not much of a big difference between two people and three people. Just leave that room empty.”
It was obvious that Ji Jie didn’t want to leave that room vacant, but he didn’t say anything.
On the contrary, Cheng Yao who had been on the side playing on his phone cut in, “I also think that it’s fine if it’s empty. The difference between two rooms and three rooms is just a few hundred yuan. It’s not much if we split it between two. But the issue is Xiao Ji-ge has a situation at home…”
“Don’t say anymore,” Ji Jie said.
And so, Cheng Yao shut up.
“Ji Jie, what happened with your family? If there’s anything I can help with, don’t feel embarrassed, just ask,” Xie Zhuxing said.
Wang Chao was waiting in the room for Xie Zhuxing as he played on his phone. Since Xie Zhuxing wasn’t there to watch him, he spent the whole fifteen minutes lazing at the wall.
After standing like that consistently for half a month, one could already see the results. Feng-jie and Miss Li both said that he was better than before, and even Duan Yikun had said that he had improved.
After waiting for a long time and not seeing Xie Zhuxing returning, he suddenly remembered that Cheng Yao had called Xie Zhuxing into his room to talk with him. Isn’t he in the same room as Ji Jie?
His mood immediately deteriorated. He had already seen Xie Zhuxing and Ji Jie talking behind his back while he wasn’t looking. He saw Ji Jie as an enemy and Xiao Xie as his own ally. A friend’s enemy should be your enemy too. Why can’t Xiao Xie understand this logic? Why does he keep on going to Ji Jie? Does he want to anger him to death?
He wasn’t someone who could get angry and ignore it. He immediately ran to their room, ready to kill.
The door to their room was closed, without even asking, he busted in and yelled angrily, “Xie Zhuxing!” Immediately after, he asked, “What are you doing here?”
There were three people inside, Cheng Yao was sitting far away on his phone, looking like a bystander. The other two were sitting on the bed. Ji Jie looked to be extremely upset with his head down. Xie Zhuxing had one hand on his shoulder with a tender expression.
Wang Chao was extremely angry, he opened his mouth and started to BB again, “I was wondering why you’re not back after half a day, why are you here trying to court someone?”
Xie Zhuxing put down his hand and furrowed his eyes, “What nonsense are you spouting? Have you stood there for fifteen minutes yet?”
Wang Chao was even angrier now. Alright, Xiao Xie, you’re talking to me like this in front of outsiders? The angrier he got, the more nonsense he spoke, “Stand? Why? I’ll stand here and watch you try to date him.”
“Stop it, hurry and go. I’ll say a couple more words with Ji Jie, then I’ll come back too.”
Wang Chao looked at Ji Jie, and Ji Jie looked at him.
Their eyes met and he fired at the other, “Fuck are you looking at?”
Ji Jie, “…”
Usually, he would fight back when being insulted, but today it seemed there was something off, he actually didn’t say anything back.
Wang Chao went rampant as he said, “Why are you crying to Xiao Xie for? Come come come, come cry to Daddy, let Daddy make you feel better.”
Ji Jie’s face drained of color as he heard this.
Xie Zuhxing scolded, “Wang Chao! Stop talking, hurry and go back!”
Wang Chao threw back angrily, “What kinda attitude are you giving me?”
Ji Jie stood up with a woosh. “What did you just say?”
Wang Chao was fuming with anger from dealing with Xie Zhuxing. “Who was talking to you?” he said impatiently.
Ji Jie walked towards him. “Whose dad are you going to be?”
Xie Zhuxing held onto him and said, “Ji Jie, don’t lower yourself to his level.”
“Xie Zhuxing! What do you mean by my level?!” Wang Chao exclaimed.
“You’re still talking?!”
“Tell me clearly! Whose dad are you going to be?!” Ji Jie said again.
“Whose side are you on?” Wang Chao said to Xie Zhuxing.
“Don’t take his words seriously. All he does with that mouth of his is talk nonsense.”
“Whose side are you on!!”
Ji Jie couldn’t push away Xie Zhuxing, and so he said, “You come over here!”
“You think I’m going to go over there just because you told me to? Who do you think you are?”
“Stop talking!”
“Whose fucking side are you on?!”
“If you have the balls, then come over here!” Ji Jie exclaimed.
“Then I’ll come over!”
“Come over my ass! Fuck off to your room!” Xie Zhuxing finally said.
Wang Chao, “…”
Xie Zhuxing, “…”
Bystander Cheng Yao who’s watching the show, “…”
“Come over here!” Ji Jie said again.
Wang Chao walked over angrily, but Xie Zhuxing threw Ji Jie aside, stopping him as he said, “Let’s go. We’re going back to our room.”
Wang Chao had already flipped, “Who the fuck are you?? Fuck off!”
Xie Zhuxing didn’t have time to say anything as Ji Jie rushed over from behind his back. He tried to block him, but the two acted as if they’d gone wild. There was nothing he could do.
Wang Chao and Ji Jie threw hits at each other.
Xie Zhuxing held onto Wang Chao’s waist, dragging him back. He yelled at Cheng Yao, “What are you staring dumbly at?”
Cheng Yao was dumbfounded for a bit before he finally reacted. He ran up and dragged Ji Jie over, but his physical strength was nowhere comparable to his. He couldn’t even manage to drag him before he was thrown to the side by Ji Jie, almost falling. Ji Jie didn’t care and rushed up to Wang Chao to give him another kick.
Wang Chao wasn’t able to return the hit due to Xie Zhuxing holding him back. He yelled angrily at Xie Zhuxing as he received the kick, “Fuck you! How dare you help an outsider hit your Dad!”
There was no time for Xie Zhuxing to explain to him. He saw that Ji Jie wasn’t giving up, so he pushed Wang Chao behind him, blocking him.
Ji Jie’s eyes had turned red as he threw his hits, while Wang Chao was still cursing at him for that kick.
There was nothing Xie Zhuxing should say to him to calm him down either. Anything he says right now would be adding oil onto the fire, he could only stand straight in the middle.
Luckily, Gao Siyun and Yang Xiao Mu heard the commotion and came over, helping him block the two.
Xie Zhuxing dragged Wang Chao out.
Wang Chao struggled desperately, not wanting to leave. But he couldn’t get out of his hold, his entire mouth filled with curses. After he was done cursing at Ji Jie, he cursed at Xie Zhuxing, then he yelled at the rest of the members for meddling in their business.
Xie Zhuxing dragged him into the room and kicked the door with a bang, his forehead covered with sweat.
Wang Chao was breathing tirelessly. Xie Zhuxing let him go, he had no energy to go make trouble again. He stood there, pressing the side of his waist that had been kicked. He looked at Xie Zhuxing while breathing heavily. If eyes could shoot daggers, Xie Zhuxing would’ve been poked with ten thousand holes already.
“…did that kick hurt?”
Wang Chao instantly thought that he had been severely/extremely wronged. He didn’t want to look at anyone, so he turned his face to the side and said, “Doesn’t hurt!”
“If it doesn’t hurt then why are you holding onto it?”
Wang Chao said coldly, “Why do you care? Didn’t you tell me to fuck off before?”
He felt that he had suffered a great loss. He really wanted to go and return that kick to Ji Jie. Angrily, he wanted to open the door, but Xie Zhuxing hurried over and stopped him. “Don’t go and cause more trouble. You’ve done enough.”
Wang Chao’s anger flared up again. “Where did I do anything? Did I make the first move? You’re this young yet you’re already blind?”
“This wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t insist on being his dad.”
Wang Chao thought that it was just a meaningless phrase and didn’t think much of it. He swore loudly, “Him? Even if he wanted to be my son, I wouldn’t even want him!”
Xie Zhuxing said with a solemn expression, “Keep talking like that, Ji Jie doesn’t have a dad.”
“…”
Ji Jie’s dad had passed away when he was only a few years old. After that, his mom remarried and didn’t bother with him anymore. He was raised by his grandparents. His grandpa had died a few years back, now he only had a grandma.
“His family situation isn’t good, ever since his grandpa died, it’s been just him doing performances trying to support him and his grandma,” Xie Zhuxing said, “his grandma has Alzheimer’s and since he can’t be by her side, he’s hired a caretaker who stays with her for the whole day, it’s pretty expensive. The reason why he called me over was because he wanted to ask me if I wanted to rent this place with him. He wants to save all that he can.”
Wang Chao was dumbfounded as he listened. Nevermind being angry, he even started to speak quietly, “Then….then what now?”
Xie Zhuxing had expected that he would be like this, so he said, “Just be quiet and stop cursing out of nowhere. I know you don’t have bad intentions but that mouth of yours really makes everyone annoyed about you.”
Wang Chao didn’t say anything. He quietly went back to his own bed and sat down.
Xie Zhuxing didn’t hear any movements outside and thought that this was probably it for tonight. They’ll take care of the rest tomorrow when Ji Jie’s anger has dissipated.
Wang Chao suddenly said, “I don’t care if anyone else thinks I’m annoying, but you can’t.”
Xie Zhuxing glanced at him.
He didn’t raise his head as he muttered in a low voice, “Not like I was targeting Ji Jie, if you didn’t block me and let him kick me, I wouldn’t have been so rash. I haven’t fought anyone in years, my temper is so much better than it was before.”
There were too many attackable points within that statement that Xie Zhuxing didn’t know where to start.
Wang Chao continued to mutter, “You even told me to fuck off, I was so anrgy that my lungs were about to explode.”
“I was just saying that in the heat of the moment,” Xie Zhuxing said.
“I see you as a brother, but you turned to an outsider and even helped him hit me! My conscience really has been eaten by a dog, I’ve been good to you for nothing.”
“….” Where are you good to me? You’re lying with your eyes wide open! Xie Zhuxing thought.
Wang Chao raised his head and said seriously, “Xiao Xie, the situation this time is special, so I’m gonna let it go. But if you speak like that again to me in the future and get physical with me, I’m not gonna be buddy buddy with you anymore, for real.”
Xie Zhuxing thought, Please please don’t be buddy buddy with me anymore. But his mouth said, “Why would I get physical with you out of nowhere?”
“If there’s a next time, then I’m really going to get mad!”
After all the commotion, they somehow ended up going to bed earlier that day.
Wang Chao laid down and Xie Zhuxing asked, “Does your waist still hurt?”
“Doesn’t hurt anymore. To be honest he didn’t even kick that hard, I was probably just angered by you. It’s fine now.”
“…go to sleep.”
Just as he was about to close the lights, Wang Chao suddenly said, “How about…how about I give Ji Jie some money?”
Xie Zhuxing thought that he had heard wrong. “What?”
Wang Chao thought that his idea wasn’t bad. He flipped over and said to him, “Look, he’s lacking/needs money right now. Just so happens that I have nothing but money, so I should give him some.”
“….he’s going to kick you another two times.”
wang chao is such a fucking dumbass i cant, anyways, ill be posting some official art of the two later, so watch out for that!
