Ch65 - There's Something I Want to Tell You

Editor: Sahloknir
Jiang Yinghe’s wish to become a monk did not come true.
He spent the next 2-3 days recovering from the majority of his injuries before he allowed others to come over.
With the gradual refinement of the accumulated aura in his body and the aid of the half demon core, Jiang Yinghe’s cultivation progressed at a rapid pace. It was like he was reviewing what he had already learned. Not only did he make great progress, he also had a chance to brush up on the techniques he had not practiced to their fullest the first time around.
After these two or three days, the little white cat was the first to break. He lay outside the door every day, scratching at it and mewling pitifully.
Jiang Yinghe had severe back pain for the first two days, so he ignored the annoying cries. After his body began to heal, his heart started to soften.
When he was looking at the broken fragments of Wangchen and thinking about how to recast it, he heard a certain kitty meow as he squeezed his way in.
Jiang Yinghe moved, but he did not shoo the little cat out. Instead, he ignored the cat as it tentatively made its way towards him, jumped on the table and started acting spoiled beside him.
The very pretty cat that Chang Ye turned into had a bright and pure white coat and round black eyes. After its fluffy fur brushed against him, Jiang Yinghe’s resolve softened by 80%. He sighed softly and took hold of the kitten’s ear.
“All you do is act cute and spoiled.” He reprimanded expressionlessly, “Why aren’t you this obedient when it matters?”
Jiang Yinghe picked the cat up and put it on his lap, paying it no more attention. He reached out to brush against the broken edge of Wangchen. It stirred up memories of the Dao’s questioning during his heavenly lightning tribulation.
If he could not answer this question, it would be difficult for him to successfully pass any tests of mentality in the future.
His devotion to the Dao and his own morality were already indestructible, he just needed persevere and face his own feelings. Being reincarnated has not affected Jiang Yinghe’s devotion to the Dao. On the contrary, he was even more certain of what he felt inside.
It no longer mattered if the unified body would acknowledge their bond. He was determined to see things through.
What he worked hard to get, and what he worked hard but could not get, could both be considered opportunities to improve himself, so he could become more mature and seasoned.
Jiang Yinghe carefully surveyed the lightning residue on the blade, and envisioned many ways to recast it in his mind. However, as he was inexperienced in refining artifacts, he felt that many of his ideas were flawed.
While Jiang Yinghe was somewhat occupied, the cat in his lap skilfully found a safe and comfortable position. His fluffy tail swirled and looped around his wrist, as if signalling ‘come and touch me’.
The words ‘flirty goblin’ inexplicably came to Jiang Yinghe’s mind. He was just about to give into the temptation when he remembered the cat’s backward barbs.
Although Tianhou was not a feline, his appearance and habits were very similar. At first, the soft thorns were only painful because they scraped against his insides, but later they became stuck. Even more shocking, a knot formed at the base. Most of Jiang Yinghe’s inflammation and swelling was ‘thanks’ to him.
Jiang Yinghe stopped his hand and continued ignoring the little cat’s actions.
But Chang Ye’s entrance seemed to be a signal of sorts. Another person soon knocked on the door, entering after Jiang Yinghe hummed in response. He didn’t need to look up to sense that Li Huanhan had come.
Qin Jun rarely knocked. Li Huanhan was the only one who would knock once in a while, but more often than not he entered silently. Regardless of the time of day, he was able to enter and leave without a sound.
“Shizun,” Li Huanhan sat next to Jiang Yinghe, his gaze sweeping over the cat in his arms without any change, “I went back to the Tian Mo School to search for records related to Sword Saint Taichu. These are the only things I found.”
He placed a jade slip on the table. It contained a copy of all the related information within the Tian Mo School’s records.
Even though both he and Qin Jun had some speculations, those were only guesses and might not be true. It was necessary to let Jiang Yinghe confirm them himself.
This news interested Jiang Yinghe. He took the jade slip on the table and held it in his palm, his divine sense sweeping through to examine the information within.
The vast majority was stuff that he had already seen. Within the few bits of new information, the most reliable source seemed to be a section from ‘The Sword Cultivator’s Book of Genesis’, where the Sword Saint said, “I am not of this world.”
Jiang Yinghe had no doubts that he was dealing with a senior transmigrator from the blue pearl of the solar system, Earth. A planet that had nothing to do with the cultivation world.
“Well?” Li Huanhan asked, “Were any of Shizun’s questions answered?”
Jiang Yinghe said helplessly, “I already know everything in here.”
Li Huanhan stared at him for a moment before suddenly saying, “How did Shizun learn about it?”
Jiang Yinghe’s words came to an abrupt halt.
How did he know? Naturally, the incantations and handwriting in the Sword Saint’s old residence
He had only just made this connection when he heard another question.
“The Sword Saint said he was not from this world, so what about Shizun?”
The question was asked softly, like a slowly dispersing wisp of smoke after cooking. Yet it was inexplicably heavy as well.
Jiang Yinghe’s mind went blank, as he was suddenly confronted with the deepest secret in his heart.
He hesitated for a moment and slowly said, “Let me think about how to tell you
”
He was already basically admitting it with those words.
The look in Li Huanhan’s eyes did not change. He inched closer and closer, his blood red gaze profound and unpredictable. His eyes were as deep and as still as bottomless pools of water.
“Is Shizun not from this world either?”
The strings in Jiang Yinghe’s heart were all thrown into disarray by his words. He was silent for a moment before sighing, “
How did you know?”
“I once heard Qin Jun mention that Shizun was easily able to recite the incantation inscribed on the entrance to the Sword Saint’s old residence
This person was alive ten thousand years ago, before even Chang Ye’s time.” Li Huanhan lifted his right hand to grasp Jiang Yinghe’s lower jaw, his palm pressed against the other’s smoothly defined jawbone.
He kissed him very lightly on the lips.
Jiang Yinghe was so stunned by the kiss that he couldn’t even continue with his words.
“Shizun has expended much effort to gather information about him.” Li Huanhan’s voice was quiet and pleasant, but it contained traces of urgency and restraint. “Is it because you want to go back?”
These words poked at the oldest, most hidden shame buried in Jiang Yinghe’s heart.
His decision to take in disciples was due in large part to his desire to return to Earth
There was nothing here for him. Even if he became sentimental after living here for a millenia, this was not his home.
What’s more, he didn’t know if the flow of time between the two worlds was the same. If it was different, perhaps he would be able to see his loved ones again when he returned
This was the last bit of hope he held onto other than his soul returning to his homeland.
Jiang Yinghe didn’t know how to answer for a moment. He just stared back, watching how blood-colored tides surged and fell in Li Huanhan’s eyes.
“Shizun wants to leave.” This time, the words were definitive.
Only the Dao Ancestor could break through the void to reach other worlds. If he wanted to go home, there were only two paths to take. One was to complete the system’s mission. The system had always promised to send him home as a reward.
The other was to conquer the many severe restrictions on the road to the Dao and reach the peak.
And his disciples were once the person who created this world. It was very likely that Dao Ancestor would grant Jiang Yinghe’s small wish and send him home, even if he didn’t want to acknowledge their love.
Jiang Yinghe was unable to retort. He could only feel the other’s emotions gradually distort. He frowned gently, but before he could say anything, Li Huanhan’s grip on his jaw immediately loosened.
“My apologies,” his voice was a little strained, “did I hurt you?”
Jiang Yinghe shook his head. “I
do want to go back, very much so.”
The atmosphere was flash frozen. Even the air became suffocating.
It was at this moment that another voice broke the silence.
“Then it is better for Shizun not to look for news about him.”
The disciple who didn’t knock much coalesced and appeared from the candle. The candle wick behind him automatically ignited with an eerie blue phosphorus flame.
Qin Jun took a few steps forward, pulling up a chair and sitting down. “I’m afraid that even if Sword Saint Taichu could revive, there’s still no hope of leaving.”
Jiang Yinghe did not reply to his words at first. He glanced over his shoulder at the candlestick. “Why light a candle in the middle of the day?”
Qin Jun took his hand in his and laughed, “To grab your attention so you’ll glance my way.”
His direct and bold statement was enough to overwhelm a person. Jiang Yinghe coughed lightly twice, pinching his reddened ears. “You just said that
there’s no hope of leaving. Why?”
“Because—”
“Qin Jun.” Li Huanhan interrupted, “You—”
“Li-shixiong,” Qin Jun rarely addressed him this way. It was enough for Li Huanhan to pause, “You worry too much. Even Sword Saint Taichu’s mystery deceased spouse would be afraid.”
Qin Jun then turned to look at Jiang Yinghe. “Shizun.”
“En?”
“Have you ever thought that you
might be the reincarnation of the Sword Saint? Or like us, a fragment of the original?”
Thunder rained down from the clear sky.
Jiang Yinghe, who had already been reincarnated once, felt his mind become clear, as if a gale had blown away the fog inside. He suddenly realized that this would explain Qin Jun’s theory about him.
He was silent for a moment. “But
I don’t have any of those memories.”
This was similar to how Jiang Yinghe was currently unable to clearly remember the events of his past life. After becoming a fetus again, he required someone else’s help to recover his memories. That was, unless he prepared measures in advance like the three of them before they were killed by their tribulations.
For example, Li Huanhan had countless blood pools. Even if Heavenly Lightning was to destroy 90% of them, he could still rely on the remaining ones to come back to life in a prepared body.
The cocoon that Qin Jun left in the Ghost City remained sealed for many years as it accumulated energy in order to fashion a temporary body and revive his soul.
Chang Ye chose an even simpler method. He sealed himself in ice on the Frozen Plains, not even bothering to change bodies.
“Perhaps your memories can no longer be recovered.” Qin Jun mused, “Shizun woke up too late. Those who lived in the Sword Saint’s era have long since fallen.”
“But maybe
”
He paused suddenly and looked at Li Huanhan, then at the yawning white cat in Jiang Yinghe’s arms. “
After the fusion, we will be from the same era as Sword Saint Taichu
right?”
Jiang Yinghe looked hopeful. “
After you fuse, you should also be able to send me home.”
Li Huanhan was already very sensitive to any mention of Jiang Yinghe’s departure. After hearing the word “home”, his tone became more forceful. “We’ll be going with you.”
Jiang Yinghe blinked. “
Okay.”
Li Huanhan’s emotions eased up significantly with his agreement.
Jiang Yinghe sorted out the thoughts in his head. He still felt that something didn’t make sense. After thinking for a moment, he spoke, “Apart from that, there’s something I want to tell you
”

I’m pretty sure I’ve read a BL novel with that plot a while back. I think it was called ‘A Wave of Exes Came Looking for Me. What to Do?’
