Side Story 14 â The Head Court Ladyâs Eternal Worry 3
ăHere, Lidiă
Bite.
âŚâŚWhile enduring the lovey-dovey actions that was unfolding before me, I averted my eyes.
âââ
The lady that His Highness brought turned out to be the Princess Consort.
As I was relieved at the fact however, before long my face twitched at His Highnessâ sweet-looking face and voice.
His Highness that is gallantly taking care of the Princess Consortâs meal.
And the Princess Consort that is calmly receiving it.
From the sickly-sweet room that seemed to flutter hearts around, I want to immediately run away from it.
It was right of me to let the court ladies fall back. It honestly is difficult to be in this place.
I truly havenât seen this side of His Highness.
The appearance of His Highness that seemed to say âYouâre so lovely, I canât help itâ constantly touched the princessâ body everywhere.
They already lost sight of me.
He only looks at the Princess as if entranced.
I could not even say a word at the extent of his surprising affections.
I endured solely on patience.
The reason why it did not show through my face is the fruition of the years Iâve lived as a court lady.
I almost want to praise myself for persevering that well.
Since I have to perform my official duties, reluctantly, I intended to leave. However, His Highness sent a meaningful gaze my way.
It would be likely that he meant to let the unabled Princess remain in the room.
I nodded my head as response but I could not hide my surprise at the thought that His Highnessâ slept with the Princess enough so to leave her unable to move.
HoweverâŚâŚ with this much affection, any reason for His Highness to participate in those evening parties would be gone.
Heâs already become an affectionate person that can never see anything but the Princess Consort. Although His Majesty explained that attending those evening parties couldnât be help, not wanting for him (Freed) to go were my real intentions, Iâm grateful to the Crown Princess.
Since the lady would be beside His Highness, I believe that I should greatly cooperate in protecting that spot.
As His Highness saw my intention with the nod of my head, he finally left the room with a relieved expression.
I cannot break His Highnessâ trust.
On the interval between His Highnessâ return, I must make sure to keep the Princess Consort within the room.
Shortly after His Highnessâ left, the Princess Consort naturally, requested for clothes. In answer, I prepared a variety of dresses.
From her words that requested for a dress that was easy to move in, reflexively, I picked out her motherâs, Rosinaâs type of clothes.
As she (Lidi) obediently made the court ladies change her clothes, her appearance indeed looked to be the exact resemblance of Rosina.
From her (Lidi) expression that carried sorrow, unintentionally, the appearance of a young Rosina overlapped in my mind.
When she uttered words of sympathy with the same expression of Rosina before her marriage, I could not even refuse. In the end, I left the room with the promise that I would return to check up on her (Lidi) during noon.
Although Iâm worried, there is at least an Imperial Guard standing in front of the door. I gave an instruction to immediately notify me if there is a movement. Afterwards, I left and returned to my duties.
âââ
When it finally became noon, I went back to His Highnessâ room to check up on the Princess Consort. However, I found myself standing stock still with a dumbfounded expression.
ââââThe Princess Consort is not here.
The Imperial Guard only reported that that there werenât any strange movements and has no idea where the Princess went.
At any rate, I have to look for her.
Abductions would not possibly occur in the inner most part of the Royal Palaceâs residential quarters, but, one would never know.
If such were to happen however, I could never redeem myself in front of His Highness or Rosiana.
While also turning pale, I noticed the Crown Princess pass through the main entrance, which lead me to quickly headed in the direction of the common area.
ăGrimm Head Court Ladyă
As I was called out, I turned my head with a flustered disposition.
The owner of the voice turned out to be William-sama that was overlooking me.
âââ
I became relieved as I heard that the Princess Consort was brought home and was not dragged in a crime.
However, hearing her being returned home without any resistance nearly made me collapse.
âŚâŚHow should I explain this to His Highness.
I held myself back from collapsing by willpower before expressing my gratitude towards William-sama and returning to the path I came from.
I have thought to immediately report back to His Highness, however, he was unusually preoccupied therefore I decided to return to the room to wait by the door instead.
And thus, while I wait, I was informed that a letter arrived.
I couldnât bear to not receive it if Iâd heard it was addressed to me.
When I took the letter, the sender was RosinaăťVonăťVivouare
ââââIt was her.
Although 20 years have already past, I could never forget her handwriting.
As I checked the senderâs name once again, I opened the letter with trembling hands.
With a lovely handwriting, the contents expressed her apologies in behalf of her daughter that returned home without notice.
âŚâŚAaa, without a doubt, itâs her.
I hugged the letter close to my chest.
My tears started spilling in large drops.
In truth, it was always in my mind.
I couldnât forgive the marriage sheâs had with that man and one-sidedly stopped my communication with her but; I always regretted that action.
I remembered our last parting.
If youâre going to marry that man, I would never meet with you again.
I said towards her while she showed an expression of sorrow.
I confidently believed that she would give up for sure; however, she shook her head and left.
I understand now that I did a stupid thing.
Since then, I continued to regret that matter of the past.
Even so, I could not bring myself to reach out to her. When I realized it, 20 years has already passed by.
Would she forgive me, I wonder.
I recalled the last sentence of her letter.
ăI wish for the day we meet again.ă
I wonder if itâs okay to believe that her shut (passive) heart is the same as mine.
I want to believe.
Grasping the letter tightly, I continued to stand still on spot.
Even so, I should not only think of Rosiana.
âŚâŚUnfortunately, the matter of most importance is how I am going to report the matter of the Princess Consort to His Highness.
End~
T/N: Dun, the name of Lidiâs mother surfaces~ And again with Claraâs worries, I still wonder what exactly is the reason why she hates Papa Vivouare so much lol (ăăă) I feel like itâs becuz she likes Rosiana and doesnât want them to be apart. Welp, thatâs what I think at least~
Again, apologies for the late post (;ďš;) I have no excuse rly. Though, thank you so much to Broken Jinsei and Aki_24 for all the help (every time) (Â´Îľď˝ )âĄ
