First regular chapter of the week~
Next will be a bonus chapter, then another regular⦠etc. Anyway: Iām back!
āā¦..*hiccup*ā¦..yeaā
Right when Ribbon-chan was about to calm down, Kawazu-san appeared.
āYouāre really useless, Kawazu-sanā
āThatās the first thing you say! I came as fast as I could through this unfamiliar forest!ā
āā¦ā¦arenāt you still late. I even properly casted the magic.ā
The forest still continued to guide us, but teleporting that distance isnāt that hard.
As I continued to stare at Kawazu-san for a few seconds, his sweat fell in drops.
Finally, he averted his gaze.
āā¦ā¦you donāt seem to be injured, isnāt that great?ā (Kawazu)
āYou probably took a detour! I got mixed up with a gigantic dog, and it was hard for me!ā
By the way, that dog was scared away by the small movements. Once it saw an opportunity, it immediately ran back to the forest.
Doesnāt matter if thereās a tree or a rock, it ran straight back.
The dog pulverized everything on itās way, and I wondered which one is the monster.
But after that encounter, it canāt be denied that the scary thing reduced the kid into almost inconsolable crying.
I kept on a kneeling position up until now, anticipating that Ribbon-chan should stop wailing right about now.
She didnāt completely stop crying but just continued on latching on my clothing.
Now that Kawazu-san had joined us, we canāt just keep on hanging out with a kid in a place like this.
I gently held Ribbon-chanās hand, intending to bring her back to the village, but I was met with some resistance.
I thought it was a bit strange, so I glanced back at Ribbon-chan who still adamantly refused my tugs.
āStillā¦.. herbā¦. donāt haveā
Ribbon-chan said it so clearly despite being teary-eyed.
This child was still thinking about that herb.
āDo you know how that herb looks?ā
After asking that, Ribbon-chan pulled out a crumpled paper from the pocket of her skirt and handed it to me.
It had a picture of something with leaves and flowers, along with a description of its characteristics.
āWith leaves like thisā¦. the old man said. Andā¦.. around this timeā¦.. the red flowers should bloom, he saidā
āI see, but even if you say that I donāt know about looking for herbsā
I couldnāt see the plant after skimming the surroundings.
āItās okay! I heard where the right place should be! So please! Help me big brothers!ā
Ribbon-chan seems desperate.
āHmm. What should we do?ā
Iām uncomfortable knowing that the village people are very worried.
Firstly, itās troublesome to find and help outā¦.. and frankly, itās hard for me when I donāt even have basic knowledge about hiking.
Donāt I have a plant-based magic at my disposal? Why donāt we utilize that here as well.
I cleared my throat and patted the head of a distressed Ribbon-chan.
If it canāt be found, it should come here instead.
Luckily, we have some time left before the thirty minutes is over.
āI got it. Letās try something for a bit.ā
I had no confidence in explaining with my mouth so for the meantime, Iāll just have to show Ribbon-chan.
As if on cue, Ribbon-chanās crying ceased when she had her full attention on what I was about to do.
āNow it should be around here, one of each kind, gather!ā
How fun, I feel it filling my mind.
We~ll I called it a summoning, but in the end I just forcefully gathered them here.
However, the consciousness within the plants seem to have an irresistible compelling force.
When I spoke the words, Ribbon-chan sucked a mouthful of air.
The dirt gave way for plant sprouts, and in an instant, there were colorful blooming flowers blanketing the ground.
The sturdy trees were tangled, and flower petals danced back and forth.
The pollens swirl; spores burst forth in the air ā drifting and dazzling.
I directed my hand like a conductor.
Orchestrating the movement of the majestic flowers within the forest.
The view of the woods changed from one scene to the next, rendering the girl immobilized.
I could hear the pounding of my heart from the theatrical performance.
The forest aināt half bad.
Ribbon-chan completely stopped crying.
But I might have gone over the top in changing the landscape, so I decided to tone it down a bit.
At the time, the place surrounding us already transformed into a shining flower garden.
āItās really quite somethingā (Kawazu)
āā¦..Amazing! Big brother is amazing!ā
Kawazu-san widened his eyes at the pleasing sight, and Ribbon-chanās gaze had a cheerful countenance.
Ribbon-chan was especially excited.
āWell then a similar-looking grassā¦.ā
āThere! Thereās one swaying over there!ā
Oh, it seems that it could also respond to my voice.
We found the thing we were looking for, but I never thought that I could even ask a plant to uproot a part of itself.
Ribbon-chan trotted from my side and allowed herself near the plant, she plucked it up and showed it to me with a beaming smile.
Letās just say itās very cute.
