Chapter 83 - The House of Evolution

“It’s dead.”

Accel’s pupils shrank. Looking at the pile of bloody gore, he fell into deep thought. He was not surprised that King killed the Monster, but he didn’t anticipate how King killed the Monster with his superpower. The glue gradually narrowed the opponent’s movement range, causing the Monster to give himself away and be killed in the end. This is a rather mundane way of killing Monsters that was very out of place for King.

Who was King? He was known as the strongest man in the world. He can kill Monsters with a single punch. Why would he use such a slow tactic? Could it be that there was a deeper meaning behind King’s actions?

The snail man seemed to have realized that something had happened to the Chameleon and shouted, “Chameleon! Chameleon…”

King curled his lips, “Stop shouting; it’s already dead.”

The snail man’s shouting stopped abruptly as if his neck had been grabbed by someone. After a moment of silence, it shouted even louder.

“King, you have already been targeted by our powerful House of Evolution. You defeated the two of us, but there are many stronger members even among the newcomers to the House of Evolution. Our House of Evolution has as many experts as the sky has clouds. Humph, even someone as strong as you will die in our hands…”

The snail man’s tone was full of confidence.

“House of Evolution?” King had a strange expression. The snail man was actually from the House of Evolution, an organization that had appeared in the anime.

House of Evolution was a relatively eye-catching villain organization in One Punch Man. It was founded by Genus, a crazy and talented scientist that disliked people because of his high intelligence since childhood. He thought that other people were all idiots and incompetent. He felt that living in a world surrounded by idiots is extremely painful.

Then, he had the idea of using his own strength to accelerate human evolution. He devoted himself to research projects related to human evolution with painstaking efforts. In the decades that followed, he developed many cutting-edge technological achievements and even turned his seventy-year-old self back to a youthful appearance. He then used cloning technology to replicate himself many times as backup.

Genus worked hard to study biotechnology, hoping that one day he could break the ultimate limit of human beings and foster human evolution with his power. In the anime, Genus’ human evolution experiment had resulted in many Monsters, such as the Dragon-level Monster Carnage Kabuto and the Demon-level Mosquito Girl.

Unfortunately, he met the fated enemy – Saitama. After witnessing Saitama’s indomitable strength, he sent his elite Monster troops to capture Saitama, hoping to study the bald Monster as a sample. However, he failed to catch Saitama and was eliminated in one fell swoop. After that, Genus gave up his dream and opened a takoyaki shop in the city to live a good life.

King touched his chin in deep thought. After seeing Saitama, Genus tried to capture him as an experiment sample. But now he sent people to assassinate me. I think he is eyeing the body of the strongest man in the world (saying it about myself still feels awkward). He probably planned to “invite” me to the House of Evolution as an experiment sample.

He actually ended up in the same situation as Saitama; how sinful!

“Aiya, I’m being targeted by the House of Evolution. It’s troublesome.” He frowned with a slight headache. The House of Evolution was not weak. The Carnage Kabuto is a Dragon-level, and they have several Demon-level Monsters. If Genus was determined to kidnap King to the House of Evolution, he might not be able to resist!

The trip to Z City seemed ever more urgent. He had to convince Saitama to destroy the House of Evolution and eliminate the hidden danger to his safety.

King thought of Doctor Hammond, who had brought the dinosaurs to the world. Hammond and Genus were both crazy scientists with unshakable dreams. Both of them brought major breakthroughs in biotechnology and cultivated powerful Monsters capable of seriously threatening world peace.

Oh, speaking of crazy scientists, there was a particularly outstanding scientist in the anime – Fukegao. This guy did not create a large group of Monsters like Hammond and Genus. However, he developed an ultimate steroid and gave it to his younger brother, Marugori, who mutated into a titan and destroyed City D in a single move. The degree of the disaster was terrifying.

“I almost forgot about Brothers’ Giant. Oh, let’s give Sitch a tip-off and get him to investigate the research institute in the D City suburbs, see if he can find Fukegao and stop the disaster. And then ask him to investigate the House of Evolution.”

King thought about it and took out his phone to call the Association Headquarter, ignoring Accel, who was thinking with his head down. He told Sitch his request and immediately hung up the phone after rejecting Sitch’s invitation for more advertisement shoots.

“King, don’t arrogantly think that you are the strongest man in the world. Our House of Evolution is not to be trifled with. You will pay for this offense with your life sooner or later.” The snail man shouted.

King slightly sneered. The snail man was really a fool. It had fallen into King’s hands and became a fish on a chopping board, waiting to be slaughtered. However, the snail man did not have a shred of awareness and still arrogantly shouted. He probably did not know how to write the word “die”.

Seeing how arrogant the snail man was, Accel couldn’t help but ask King, “King, please allow me to kill this Monster.”

“You?” King glanced at Accel and said noncommittally, “Go ahead.” In any case, no matter who killed Monster, it would not hinder him from converting the Card.

“Thank you for granting my wish, Mr. King.”

Accel’s spirits were lifted. The glue on the ground had dried up, allowing him to quickly approach and walk around the meter-tall snail shell. He paused, not knowing where to start.

The snail shell was as hard as steel; how could he break it with his bare hands?

He frowned and glanced at King’s house, hoping to find a tool to use.

“Haha, boy, such big words. A weak human like you want to kill this great snail? Oh no~ your silken touch fist broke through my iron shell; I lost~~.”

The snail man sneered when he heard that Accel was going to kill him.

King shook his head speechlessly at Accel’s troubled face. He took a water hose, connected it to the water dispenser, and inserted the other end into the entrance of the snail shell. He then opened the dispenser tap.

Splash!

“Ah…” Accel watched with dull eyes as boiling water flowed through the hose into the snail shell.

“Ding! There is a converted Monster Card nearby. Host, please perform the conversion.”
