Chapter 119 - I Don't Kill Nameless People (Part 2)
âMonster, everyone, run!â
âQuick! Call the Heroes Association! A Monster appeared in Z City!â
Martial Maniac was wandering on the street, thinking about how to find the Crane School, when the people suddenly shouted and scattered in all directions. In mere moments, the busy street became empty.
âWow, you damn humans, didnât you look down on me in the past? You said I was a useless programmer or a dead-weight nerd. Humph, how the tables have turned. Finally, itâs my turn to bully you.â
From a building that had the sign âMicros*ft Technologiesâ hanging on it, a âcomputerâ suddenly rushed out. Its limbs are dark and slender, composed of many intertwined network and power cables. Its head was a large computer screen that displayed its expressions and emitted a clear, synthesized electronic voice.
âEmergency evacuation notice. Emergency evacuation notice. A Tiger-level Monster â Computer Man has appeared in Z City. All residents, please take refuge in the nearest shelter.â
âI repeat. Emergency evacuation notice. Emergency evacuation notice. A Tiger-level Monster â Computer Man has appeared in Z City. All residents, please take refuge in the nearest shelter.â
The Monster Alarm system in Z City rang, warning people about the Computer Man.
âHey, thereâs still someone out here.â The Computer Man found the wandering Martial Maniac. He stopped in front of Martial Maniac, put his hand on his waist, pointed his finger, and said arrogantly, âHey, human, I was originally a programmer. Because of your discrimination, I became a computer man. I am going to kill all of you bad guys!â
Martial Maniac frowned. âGet lost. I donât kill nameless people.â He turned around, leaving the Computer Man.
âHah, look at you acting all high and mighty. Human arrogance really knows no limit. I will kill you all and return the world to peace.â Martial Maniacâs tone offended Computer Man. Computer Man glared at Martial Man and then furiously swung his cable-arm like a whip; its supersonic tip made a cracking sound in the air. âGo to hell, bastard.â
Martial Maniac glanced at Computer Man and raised his palm, ready to counterattack.
âBe careful.â
A yellow figure suddenly appeared, rushing over like lightning to punch the computer man.
Bang!
Computer Manâs head suddenly burst open, electric arcs flashing from its components. Moments later, it fell to the ground, powerless. It didnât even have the time to say its last words.
Martial Maniac stared at the newcomer. The person was wearing a yellow coveralls, a white cloak, a red pair of gloves and rain boots. The most eye-catching thing was the perfectly smooth, sparkling bald head.
Yes, he was Saitama.
âWhat a coincidence. I met a Monster when I went out for a walk.â He shook off the fragments of Computer Manâs head and looked at the clear sky. âWell, today is a good day. Should I make cabbage hotpot tonight?â
Martial Maniac observed Saitama for a while before asking, âHey, do you know how to get to the Crane School?â
Someone this strong should know the famous Crane School address!
Saitama looked at Martial Maniac in confusion.
âCrane School?â He thought for a moment and said, âGo straight down this road and turn left. Then walk down that street before turning left again. Stop a taxi on that road and tell the driver to bring you to Crane School. He should take you there.â
Martial Maniac frowned and snorted coldly, âYou should be glad that I didnât kill a nameless person. Otherwise, you would already be a cold corpse.â
He waved his hand and walked away.
Saitama looked blankly at Martial Maniacâs back. He shook his head and muttered to himself, âWhat a weirdo. Oh well, letâs ignore him. The world is big, but that supermarket sale is bigger!â
He disappeared, running away at full speed while happily thinking about the supermarket sale. He was already hundreds of meters away within a fraction of a second.
âŠ
Meanwhile, in Bangâs dojo.
Bang was still trying to probe Kingâs ability. Bang and King had been engaged in fierce battles during their free time, such as catâs cradle, marbles, hide-and-seek, and many other brutal traditions from ancient times.
They only stopped playing around when the news that Crane School and Turtle School, the famous dojo in Z City, were attacked by the Martial Maniac reached them.
âDamn it!â
Bangâs heart sank when he heard the news. He left the training area to his house with his arms behind his back. He went down the mountain alone the next day, swearing to arrest the scum of the martial arts world â Martial Maniac.
Without Bang, peace returned to Kingâs lifeâalthough Charankoâs diligent spirit still âtouchedâ him in the morning. The difference was that he could go back to sleep until Charanko woke him up for lunch. After eating, he strolled around the dojo to digest his food and then went back to sleep. He similarly woke up to eat dinner, talked with Bang and Charanko for a bit, and then went back to sleep.
This carefree life was very comfortable.
The only thing that troubled him was that System was yet to awaken even after so many days went by. He was waiting anxiously.
Today, Kingâs day went by as usual. He got up in the morning to eat breakfast, then watched Charanko practice for a while. Then, he slipped to the backyard of the dojo and began to practice his own Tai Chi.
Time gradually passed, and the sunlight gradually rose to light the mountain top. The morning sun painted the entire dojo in red, and King worked through the Tai Chi forms while immersed in the color.
2nd form, Part the Wild Horseâs Mane⊠14th form, Strike to Ears with Both Fists⊠Haha!
(Movement from the standard Simplified 24-form Tai Chi)
A young man had come to watch his practice session at some point. After watching for a while, the young man narrowed his eyes and said coldly, âThis useless martial art is going to get you hurt.â
âOh?â
King was surprised that someone had commented on his training. He then realized that the commenter was looking down on his Tai Chi. He was annoyed. It was the same with Bang; how come every cat and dog in the neighborhood came to mock his divine Chinese heritage?
âItâs none of your business.â King waved his hand and revealed his appearance.
Well, letâs see if you still dare to look down on my Tai Chi after knowing my identity.
Martial Maniac stared straight at King and said coldly, âYou should be glad that I donât kill a nameless person. Otherwise, you would already be a cold corpse.â
King quivered at the vast killing intent from Martial Maniacâs cold eyes, and he was stunned by his words.
Was I still dreaming, or did he really call me nameless? This is the first time someone still spouted nonsense after seeing my appearance. Sigh, it seems some people still donât know about me!
The current situation was the worst-case scenario. He still couldnât use System; he couldnât even fight a beat-up dog right now. His reputation was at stake, and his opponent was still brimming with killing intent. What should he do?
In such a perilous situation, thereâs no option other than to bluff!
ââŠâ
Sorrow flashed in Kingâs eyes. I amâŠnot good with words.
