Acting as Her Highnessâ Bodyguard Henceforward
âAh, itâs you.â Puzzled, Liu Yue titled her head: âIs Miss Vera looking for me? Weâve already finished dinner, so there shouldnât be any reason to see me, right?â
The youngster responded with a somewhat awkward nod. He had his fingers intertwined. He shyly looked at one of the walls but never spoke. Liu Yue patiently waited at the door. As a Princess, she wouldnât allow her man into her room, while the youngster was a bodyguard. Subsequently, he wouldnât ask to be let into the room he was supposed to guard.
It was just a simple interaction during lunch, but that was enough for the two to consider each other slightly more important than previously. The youngster didnât know what the matter was with him, either. Ever since lunch, his hand seemed to carry the young girlâs warmth and scent.
âWhat exactly is the matter?â
Liu Yueâs patience eventually ran dry. The youngster was torn and had a red face. She had no idea what he was after. The way he behaved disgusted her a bit, though⊠Seeing him waffle made him seem almost identical the boys at her school.
âItâs Miss Veraâs order.â The youngster took in several deep breaths to calm his racing heart. In a business tone, he clarified, âMiss Vera ordered me to protect you four from now.â
âWait, arenât you supposed to be guarding Miss Vera?â
Liu Yue was surprised. She gently placed her hands on her chest. She felt quite apologetic. She didnât mind who her bodyguard was as she didnât dislike them. She was fine whether it was him or Ying. She was aware of his feelings for Miss Vera as she had seen her dadâs maid; in other words, she was aware of Lunaâs feelings for her dad. If her dad was to assign her somewhere away from him, Luna would probably be more miserable living than dead. His beloved Vera assigning him to her was no big deal; however, she assumed the youngster would be sad.
Unlike what Liu Yue believed, the youngsterâs expression didnât show any change. That left her absolutely perplexed. Actually, it made her feel stupid⊠She was worried for him, while he thought nothing of it. Hence, it made her feel as though her concern was fed to a dog.
âYour safety takes priority at the moment for Miss Vera. After all, if you get hurt, King Troy would probably be furious, which is why Miss Vera has entrusted me with such an important task. This is Miss Veraâs show of faith in me, so I will earnestly guard you.â
The youngster was on a different wavelength to her. Liu Yue held her hand to her forehead and sighed. Then, she smiled: âAll right. I donât mind either way as long as thereâs somebody by my side. In saying that, Miss Ying will continue to stay by my side. Considering sheâs my dadâs guard, Iâm sure she wouldnât be willing to protect Miss Vera.â
âI believe in my comrades, but, since Miss Vera gave me the order, I must earnestly carry it out, We will be spending a long time together in the coming days. Henceforward, I shall protect you as Miss Ying does.â
âAll right. Can I make a request, then?â
âFeel free to speak.â
âLet me see⊠Oh, right, take us out to play more often as you did today, then. Also, teach me more fun things such as at noon.â
Liu Yue giggled. Her excitement was obvious. She felt genuinely happy after playing around outside at noon.
It was literally impossible for the youngster to make eye contact with the girl. Her friendly nature wiped his mind blank. However, Liu Yue was oblivious to what happened. She merely spoke her mind. She tilted her head. The silent youngster had his head down. After a moment of hesitation, she said, âWhatâs the matterâŠ? If time doesnât allow⊠thatâs fineâŠâ
The youngster swiftly looked up and waved his hands to explain, âAh, no! No!! No! No! Thatâs not it! Thatâs not it! We have time; I am sure of it. Also, our city is large, so there is bound to be available places. Further, there are lots of festivals we can spend together. I, therefore, am sure that you will like it. I will take you to go see things. Promise! Promise!â
Liu Yue sighed. She hopelessly touched her ears: âAh⊠great. You donât need to react so emotionally, or my sisters will hear. Itâll be tough to explain if they do. Iâm going to take a bath now. You can do as you please. Just donât come looking for me if you donât need me; speak to Miss Ying if something comes up. Thatâs good enough.â
âOh⊠Sure⊠MmâŠâ
The youngster took a few steps back and leaned onto the wall. The door to the neighbouring room then swung open. Liu Yueâs three sisters came out carrying stuff. They had planned to go and see Liu Yue, but, to their surprise, they saw the youngster. They had no idea why he was there.
âWhat exactly is going on?â asked the three sisters.
Liu Yue smiled: âIâll tell you after. Right now, though, but I want to have an early bath. Frankly, Iâm a little sleepy now after playing in the afternoon.â
âMe, too. Lunch was delicious, though. I want to eat it again!!â
âAh, I agree. I want to eat it again!!â
The youngster watched the giggling girls walk toward the bathroom. The girlsâ laughter came from their own joy. A gentle smile surfaced on the youngsters face. Â He thought, âBy the sounds of things, lots of joyous things can be expected.â
