Gladios barged in as soon as the late breakfast was over. It was when she had tea time after the meal.
âKyrie! Miss Kyrie Buchanan!â
âYes, Iâve been waiting, you immature hero.â
A combative smile appears on Kyrieâs face.
âI was going to look for you, anyway.â
âYes, were you?â
ââŚâŚâ
Surprisingly, Gladios flushed a little. How big was his imagination, thinking too deeply with the words âI was going to find you.â
Contradictory to his optimism, Kyrie was disgusted and stared at him sharply.
âMr. Gladios.â
âWould you listen to me first, Miss Kyrie?â
No, but she was obligated to listen to him according to his rank. Still, Kyrie was a bit regretting last nightâs outburst.
âPlease speak.â
âMiss Kyrie⌠Yesterday I was in the wrong.â
âWhat?â
âI wasnât being considerate to your tender and modest self. I was also too reckless, wasnât I?â
Kyrie snorted. âOf course. I didnât expect you to know your fault.â
âIf thatâs what you think. May I talk to you as well?â
âOh, Iâll listen to you!â Gladios shouted.
He eagerly wanted to âlisten to the lady.â
Kyrie laughed, letâs see how much he will be willing to listen after realizing where this is heading.
âPlease stop the serenading. Itâs quite burdensome.â
âWhatâŚ?â Gladios stumbled a little.
âAs a member of Buchanan, I, of course, would like to maintain a good relationship with the Marquis of Vermont. However, it seems that you misunderstood the meaning between us as a man and a woman, so it is quite difficult.â
âWhat? Wait, Miss Kyrie!â
âYes, thatâs my name.â
It was because of her damn position as the Emporerâs fiancee that she had so far been overlooking Gladiosâs persistent and discourteous approach.
Now that it had been broken off, she no longer had to hide her cynicism. Disregarding what the social circle will gossip behind her back, calling her a stone woman or a slut. Either high or cheap.
(T/N: High or cheap meant that some would admire/hold her up in high regards, while others will look down on her)
âWhat are you going to do? Iâm tired of meeting your expectations.â
âStop, Mr. Gladios. Donât you really know what the public thinks about you?â
Gladiosâs body flinched at Kyrieâs cold-blooded remarks.
âDo you actually think itâs courteous to send a letter to an innocent lady anonymously? In addition to observing her daily routine, hitting an innocent servant with a scabbarded sword on a date with a lady to assert your masculinity?â
Whether that cynical smile acted as the trigger, the fire quickly rose from Gladiosâs eyes, turning him into a bloodshot doll.
(T/N: bloodshot doll means his body turned red from anger)
âYou⌠Youâre honestly too much! I was going to give you a chance!â
âA chance?â
âA chance to apologize for insulting me!â
âDid I insult you, Mr. Gladios?â
âIndeed!â
Gladios shook, his face distorted in anger. The greatsword on his back rattled threateningly subsequently.
âDidnât you say I was ugly!â
Kyrie calmly held the teacup, while looking right at him.
âDid I? Iâm sorry. I think Iâve been observant these days, so Iâve become more honest.â
[Pfft.]
At that time, a peal of soft laughter intervened between the two.
Concurrently, Gladios, who raised his hand at Kyrie, who was drinking tea, turned to where the sound originated.
There was Nataniel giggling, all while holding a saucer and a cup of tea. After realizing the gaze of the two, he squinted his eyes.
(T/N: For Nathaniel Kyrie and Gladios are a pair of Jokers)
[Ah. Please donât mind me. Keep going.]
That was Nathanielâs first word. He had seen everything from the beginning, while sitting on the small tea table near them.
Now, bulging veins were clearly visible on Gladiosâs neck.
(T/N: control your temper bruh)
âDid you just laugh at me?!â
âStill, you are disrespectful.â
Kyrie felt strangely relieved.
(T/N: Itâs because Gladiosoâs mind was a bit distracted)
âMr. Gladios, I believe we are still talkingâ
âEnough, get out of here! Even if you are a woman, you are just like a female wildcat⌠Itâs futile being nice to you!â
She was bewildered. When did he treat her well? Who asked him to be nice to her?
A smile disappeared from Kyrieâs face.
âIf Iâm a female cat, then you are a male boar. Look at your own self before pointing fingers at others.â
[N: Kyrie is indirectly saying that he doesnât know common sense nor respect. Especially how he looks down on other men, when he is supposed to look at himself first.]
(T/N: The proverb âWhen you point a finger at someone else, three fingers are pointing at youâ goes well with this situation. Lol try pointing your finger in the air and see three fingers would be pointed at you)
She was quite embarrassed for her manner since itâs rather sarcastic. But she was confident and would not back down.
Nathaniel was insanely joyful and enjoying this, just by looking at his face.
Gladios, on the other hand, was outraged and raised his arms to his head.
(T/N: People like him need a good smacking on butt)
âHow dare you!â
Kyrie shut her eyes tightly.
Ah, it would be great if this would be the end between the Marquis of Vermont and her.
However, the force she was waiting for did not come.
When she cautiously opened her eyes, she saw Nathaniel holding the tip of a fork against Gladiosâs arm.
I repeat, THE TIP OF A FORK.
[Jeez. You canât use violence against a lady in front of me.]
Nathaniel looked at Gladios with a relaxed smile.
[Itâs upsetting when the person before you doesnât know how to treat a lady. But of course, he wouldnât understand the subject of manners and courtesy.]
âHow dare you insult me!â
Along with the yelling, Gladiosâs face roused with bursting anger.
Gladios took off his gloves and threw them to Nathaniel.
âGood! I challenge you to a duel!â
T/N rant:
Gladios is a shame on humanity.
Nathaniel. I. Want. You. Please. Bring. Me. In. Your. World
Well go read the chp 16. After translating the chp 16 I am worried about Kyrie.

Sadistic Tendency
âThis is crazy.â
Kyrie said cynically.
[Do you think so?]
Nathaniel took the challenge with a cup of tea.
When she saw him sitting at ease under the shading tent, she was filled with anger.
(T/N: Save this anger for future dear)
âItâs not that Gladios is just outwardly showing off heroic excitement. Heâs pretty strong, even if he looks like that.â (T/N: To whom are you saying these words? To Nathaniel? Who is called as âTHE ENDâ)
[I see]
âHe hasnât been knighted, but itâs because heâs the Marquis of Vermont, not because he lacks skill.â
[Not because heâs stupid enough to not be able to memorize the Ten Commandments of the Knights?]
Kyrie laughed without realizing it.
(T/N: âŚ.)
âYouâre good at joking. I didnât know you could.â
(T/N: Yeah wait for him to show you his true colours)
[A true nobleman must know how to enjoy any situation.]
(T/N: Then I think we uni students are true nobleman coz we enjoy all types of situation )
âI donât think it means to enjoy the situation where oneâs neck is about to run away.â
[My neck is running away?]
Nathaniel laughed.
[That stupid thing can do what Vallabriga Orewinbridge couldnât even do? You are also good at jokes.]
Kyrie frowned.
âLord Nathaniel is a wizard, and Gladios is a swordsman. Itâs ridiculous to say that the wizard and the swordsman are dueling with a sword.â
[Right. Usually it is.]
âOr are you going to use magic?â
The most likely thing Kyrie thought of was to use magic secretly. She chose her words more carefully.
(T/N: she knows the art of how to talk to Nathaniel)
âWhen the duel is going on, a barrier made of mana stones is used to prevent the use of magic. You will not be able to use magic.â
[Buchanan. How can you end this fun thing in such an uninteresting way.]
âItâs a duel that does not benefit, whether you win or lose. Canât you cancel it now?â
[I am not the one who requested a duel, so go talk to the instigator.]
Nathaniel showed signs that he would not talk anymore.
Kyrie looked silently at the tent where Gladios was. He pulled out the Great Sword and was swinging it. And when he noticed Kyrieâs gaze, he looked sad. She wondered what he was thinking.
âHa! The ignorant woman who is seduced by what she sees! You will soon know the value of what is invisible and regret it!â
ââŚâŚâ
As she told Nathaniel, whether he would win or lose, he had nothing to gain.
If he wins, her relationship between the Marquis of Vermont will be broken, and if he loses, that hero will sing the song,ăThe world doesnât know me.ă Although she knew about it, canceling it was still the best option.
âCan you win?â
She felt Nathaniel looking her way.
[Did you want to win?]
âIf you win or lose and have nothing to gain, youâd rather win.â
Kyrie did not look back at Nathaniel.
She laughed, thinking she didnât know what she was talking about to someone who claimed to be âThe End.â
âAnd that look⌠Thatâs kind of upsetting, isnât it?â
Nathaniel laughed. It was a laugh that seemed to be close to a laughter for ordinary people. He was enjoying it that much.
[I thought you only knew how to speak, but you can also say that.]
âWhoâs going to be able to stay calm for everything? I try to do that, but there are people who really want to hit me.â
Nathanielâs eyes narrowed.
[Youâve become quite honest.]
(T/N: nah she has lowered her guard, you handsome rascal)
âYes. Itâs not aristocratic. If youâre going to scold me, do it now.â
Nathaniel slowly lowered the teacup when he saw the referee and Gladios walking out to the arena.
[No. You look much better that way.]
(T/N: DONâT FALL FOR IT! ISSA TRAP!)
It was a favorable reception beyond her thoughts. Kyrie looked at him a little embarrassed.
Nathaniel slowly rose from his seat.
There was a metallic sound from the cane he was holding.
Soon, the upper part of the cane, which Nathaniel handled like his own body, cracked, revealing a pure white sword.
Kyrie stared blankly at the man like the king of winter checking his sword.
âWas it a sword?â
[It was a sword.]
âSo you refused the sword lent to you?â
[Yes.]
âBut the Black of GladiosâŚâ
(T/N: His sword is a black sword.)
Kyrie looked at Gladios. He wanted to look like he overwhelmed his opponent, but he didnât wear his armor properly. The Great Sword in his hand shone brightly.
[Two-handed sword. During my time, those who used swords like that were usually considered cool, but it looks like itâs a little different these days.]
Nathaniel muttered. Kyrie laughed.
(T/N: âŚ.now a days u laughing too much, isnât it?)
âIâm going to see the madness of facing a two-handed sword with a sword here.â
[Are you anxious?]
Nathaniel asked.
Kyrie shook her head slowly.
âNot at all.â
As soon as she saw Nathaniel holding his sword, Kyrie felt it. He was only complete when he lifted his sword. That white was like a part of Nathanielâs body. Kyrie glanced up at Nathaniel.
(T/N: The white means metallic part. AnywaysâŚ. someone plz bring Kyrie back to reality, Iâm begging you)
âYou lied to me, didnât you?â
[Me?]
âYouâre not a wizard.â
Nathaniel looked at Kyrie.
He opened his eyes like he had found something interesting, and laughed like a playful rascal.
[Thatâs right. Iâm actually a swordsman.]
(T/N: And a psycho)
He slowly kneeled down on one knee in front of Kyrie. Everyoneâs eyes were focused on him.
Kyrie was also surprised, but when she saw Gladiosâs face distorted from afar, she smiled gently.
âYou like to joke more than you look.â
[Did I get caught? Thatâs right. There should be a sadistic tendency when others hear it.]
(T/N: It means that he wants the other person to be ashamed or be in pain when Nathaniel jokes. There should be a sadistic touch in his jokes)
âThen you must be sad to not see that face.â
[Is this the expression you expected?]
âI canât use it when I open my eyes to this pleasure.â
[Enjoy it.]
Nathaniel slowly reached out, and Kyrie naturally held his hand.
[Now, this knight holds his sword for the pride of the lady he serves. What do you want, Kyrie Buchanan?]
Looking at Nathaniel smiling, Kyrie smiled in the same way without realizing it.
(T/N: Aight imma out of here)
âVictory. Overwhelming.â
T/N rant:
So as yâall see ladies and gentlemen the chances of saving Kyrie from him is grim. But anyways we would read ahead!
Yesterday I decided that I would not take any hiatus for this novel. Nope not all
