The snow hasnât stopped, even in the middle of the night.
Anderson, the Innkeeper, said that it would still snow for at least two more days.
âTwo daysâŚthat seems long when you have nothing to do.â
She couldnât care less anyway, since no one could have anticipated that.
However, when she sleeps, she feels crowded, and everyoneâs gaze makes it unbearable.
Kyrie gazed out the window all day, the people in this town were all quiet, silent as if soulless.
In short, theyâre unwilling to talk freely, but it is as if they are vigilant, rather than just being silent.
âWhat the hell?â
Before falling asleep, MaryAnne warned Kyrie.
âYoung lady, Iâm not letting your room smell bad. Since whenever you leave your room, it has an unpleasant scent to it. Iâll protect your room, so you must stay inside!â
Kyrie knew that MaryAnne had a unique ability. Though, this was the first time that she revealed it.
âMaryAnne, if itâs so âdangerousâ, then we can just stay here together.â
âMaryAnne needs to be on guard outside! To not make it fetid, you have to stay inside, where you can smell it!â
âI donât know what youâre talking about, MaryAnne. Is that some kind of sorcery?â MaryAnne shook her head.
âMaryAnne will protect the Young Lady!â
Nevertheless, MaryAnne went outside the room.
She was so profound that she couldnât stop Kyrie. And because of her surroundings, she couldnât sleep well.
Kyrie got out of bed and walked towards the window. She stood blankly for a moment and suddenly realized something strange.
In the distance, she saw a glimpse of a man at the edge of the village.
ââŚWhat?! Was that a hallucination? Or was it just a silhouette?!â
Kyrie narrowed her eyes and moved closer to the window. She could barely see anything since it was pitch black, but she was sure itâs a silhouette of a tall man.
It was a bizarre sight.
Because, even at night, a faint blue light only radiated near him.
Besides, he was only wearing a light robe in the middle of heavy snowfall, not even a fur coat or any fur clothing.
Kyrie unwittingly realized.
That is the mysterious man whom people feared.
Even though heâs a mile away, Kyrie can feel a pressure in the air thatâs causing her trouble to breathe.
It feels as if being the prey, observing the Beast who hasnât noticed me yet.
Even if she wanted to turn back, she couldnât, since they might notice her looking away.
When she saw the beast, she broke out in a cold sweat and could only wait for him to pass by.
Kyrie being unaware of her place. The unknown man walked around as if taking a stroll in heavy snowfall.
It looks as if heâs admiring the sky with his long cane.
At that moment, the man slowly turns-
âHuh.â
Kyrie unconsciously swallowed her breath.
The room wasnât too dark, allowing me to see his gaze pointing this way.
Blue.
That murderous blue gaze.
Even though it was far away, the color of his eye could not be seen clearly. However, the gaze was so vivid and could pierce oneâs soul.
She felt muzzy.
She wants to run away, but afraid that she might get caught. The man only stood there and looked in Kyrieâs direction.
A few minutes later, he walked away in a drowsy and leisurely manner, as if nothing happened.
Now that the man is gone, Kyrie can breathe comfortably.
âHuh, ahâŚâ
Her legs were trembling, so she grabbed the window frame and collapsed.
It feels like she wasnât prepared to face the beast.
âWhat the⌠hellâŚ?â
When she raised her head, trying to catch her breath, she was surprised once again.
She didnât notice how much time had already passed⌠It felt as if she was spying on him for only a few minutes, but itâs already at the crack of dawn.
