âAs I said, youâre acting strange these days. I see pent-up frustration in your eyes that I normally donât see in people like you. Plus, your only strengths are being honest and candid, but those are faint. You can start there,â Sehun pointed out.
Sehun knew practically nothing about the situation, yet his comment struck at Yoonshinâs key concerns. One concern was Sehun, who stood before him, and the other was his sisterâs situation.
However, the latter was a conflict so massive that it was impossible to solve by himself. Plus, it was technically not Yoonshinâs business. He oscillated between telling Sehun and the worry that this would get his sister into a stickier situation. Yoonshin spoke before he knew it. âSenior Attorney, so you seeâŚâ
âDonât tell me,â Sehun cut him off.
âWhy not?â
âI feel like Iâll want to listen to your request. I donât want more things to think about.â
ââŚâ
âAll right, the pro bono ends here.â
Sehun was about to turn and leave Yoonshin in the dimly lit corner. Frustrated that all he saw was Sehunâs back, Yoonshin tugged at the older manâs sleeve. His hands slowly traveled lower. They passed the otherâs firm and bony wrist before lightly grasping the soft hand of the other. Sehun flinched. He was about to push him away when Yoonshin grabbed the older manâs hand firmly.
âWhat do you think youâre doing, Fourth-year?â Sehun asked sharply.
Yoonshin paused momentarily, then he slowly leaned toward Sehun. He leaned his head toward the otherâs chest and rested his forehead against it.
âHave you heard the saying, that the greatest weakness is the fear of showing your weakness?â Yoonshin asked.
âWhatâs your point?â
âA flaw formed in your life the moment you feared that I would become a flaw in your life.â
Sehun didnât reply. Yoonshin stepped closer, leaning in deeper into the older manâs chest. Sehun took a sharp intake of breath, and Yoonshin could feel the rise and fall of Sehunâs chest. Yoonshin calmly closed his eyes.
Yoonshin felt lonely enduring his difficulties, but Sehun magically appeared before him. Perhaps Yoonshin was the one who searched for Sehun.
âYoonshin Do,â Sehun said in a low voice.
Yoonshin liked the low rumbling tone of the otherâs voice when he called his name. He felt as though he could hear the otherâs heart beating loudly, which he also liked. Sehun might not believe it, but Yoonshin also liked how Sehunâs hand twitched, conflicted between whether he should turn around and hold the younger man.
When that thought hit him, Yoonshinâs initial intention to calm his heart in Sehunâs embrace shattered. Yoonshin felt his heart starting to pound. At a loss for what to do, he could only gasp when Sehun pushed the other man away.
Sehun took a few steps back and put distance between them, staring intently at Yoonshin. Sehunâs expression slowly grew complex. He seemed a bit diffident and slightly angry.
âDid you just get dumped by a woman you had a crush on for 20 years?â Sehun asked.
It was so out of the blue that Yoonshin tilted his head in confusion. âNo, but I did go on a blind date.â
Besides, Yoonshin had never had a crush on anyone before.
âThen, did you get severely defrauded? Did you burn through the entirety of the inheritance your father left you?â
âMy father didnât leave a lot behind. I did buy a house with my share of my motherâs estate and my sisterâs assistance. Thatâs for the security of my later years in life.â
Once Sehun heard that, his face twisted in utter confusion. âThen, why do you look like youâll cry again?â
