Apparently, the general frame of the acquisition was drawn out in Sehunâs head. Before delving into the matter, he carried out preliminary meetings to check over how to execute the most efficient negotiations and to flag unresolved legal issues.
âYoungjin Construction⊠Youngjin Construction. I donât think I have any ties to them, but why does it sound familiar?â Yoonshin mumbled.
Yoonshin looked through the papers then searched for the CEO of the construction company on the internet. After staring holes into the CEOâs face and brooding about the name, he finally realized why the name sounded so familiar.
He had heard about this manâs family while he was catching up with his sister. They discussed abstract questions like whether love was eternal while talking about the manâs extramarital affairs. It was just another casual conversation, so the memory of it was vague.
ââŠYou need to get your hands on information that is too fatal to reveal, but difficult to hide and cover up.â After suddenly recalling what Secretary Tak had said, he hurriedly called up his sister. Unfortunately, she didnât pick up, but this was a common occurrence these days. He held back his bitter sigh and called her personal secretary, who thankfully picked up immediately.
âAttorney Do? Whatâs the matter? I was going to call you anyway because I thought we may be able to meet in the new year,â his sisterâs secretary said.
âCan my sister go out now?â Yoonshin asked.
âYes, tell me a date that works for you. I will reserve a location.â
âI will double-check my calendar and let you know. My sister isnât picking up again. Is everything all right?â Yoonshin was worried that his brother-in-lawâs violence worsened her situation again.
The other man must have felt his tension and replied in a low voice, âYou must have been worried. She is currently meeting with a friend, so she isnât available. Sheâs in the next roomâshould I let her know?â
âIf thatâs the case, thatâs fine. I just wanted to ask you something. I vaguely remember talking about this with my sister. Wonik Choâthe third son of Youngjin Groupâheâs acquainted with my sister, right?â
âPresident Wonik Cho? Yes, but itâs his wife that Director Do is acquainted with. Actually, thatâs the friend sheâs meeting right now. But how did you know to contactâ?â
âI was only half right, then. I didnât know she was there. I wanted to confirm something. Could you help me with that? Itâs off the record, of course. Itâs related to my work. It could be difficult for you to tell me, but I really need that information.â
âUh, this isnât a good place to talk. Iâll contact you as soon as I return to my office. Is that all right with you?â
âYes. Iâll be waiting,â Yoonshin answered.
Yoonshin was excited to think that he could be of help to Sehun. He didnât have any information in his hands personally, but he had a resource that gave him the upper hand compared to other lawyersâhis sister.
After ending the call, Yoonshin glanced out into the hallway. Beyond the busy secretaries, he stared into Sehunâs room, then he swiftly pulled down his blinds. As soon as the room was shut off from the hallway, his room felt more tranquil than before.
Just then, his phone vibrated. Yoonshin picked up. âYes, speaking.â
Yoonshin listened attentively to the secretary on the call, and his eyes started twinkling.

Yoonshin happened to spot a senior lawyer coming out of Sehunâs room at the right time. Just before his door closed, Yoonshin leaned forward as if he was taking the baton from the senior lawyer. After bowing respectfully to the other lawyer, he entered Sehunâs office. Â Sehun made a face, looked slightly taken aback by the new, uninvited guest in his office. He leaned his head to the side.
