Ho ho ho ho~ look at that cover, doesn't it make you want everyone to rip their clothes off right away?!
h.e.l.lo Friends, Frenemies, Haters,
Your friendly neighbourhood talkative is back again.
Seeing the glut of Korean novels popping up on NU, I decided to give it another go. There was an unknown attempt that was never published. I was on the verge of taking KR off my list?.
So I joined Kakao page and this beauty popped up and so I sought to acquire it for my nefarious purposes. ?
But only trials and tribulations awaited me, in the form of KSSN! You can't get the Korean s.m.u.tty s.m.u.ts without having one of those; I was most irritated. Someone would have to tell me how all those other books are getting popped. So I went here, I went there. I decided to be Chinese for Baidu, that didn't work. Ah, I was nearly at my wits end, when Google link I had been overlooking came and saved the day; I had to pay for it though, in my own currency which was nice.
Before I let this baby into the open:
Are you one of those who would appear hoping and praying to the G.o.ds that you hold dear, that this would be THE ONE?! The one where Zuben finally shuts up?!
h.e.l.l NO! My commentary runs rampant through your imaginations like the Saracens rampaging through the Middle East, North Africa, Southern Europe. If this upsets your balance, please nod sagely and about-face here. ?
Now for every one else, saranghae!!
Blurb:
In the Vice President of ELN's secretarial office, Han Seo-won is impersonating her brother as a newly employed secretary.
Because of his new secretary, Vice President Lee Kang-joon can't sleep.
Would his vivid dreams spiral the man out of control?
‘Sir, I think it is better for you to stop and rest.'
‘Rest? Because of you, I can't sleep.'
Her heart thumped at that answer; somehow she knew this was something different from their past relations.h.i.+p.
‘I'm going crazy dreaming of you moaning under me every night.'
‘Wh-what?'
‘So I advise you to run away before you get eaten by me.'
Can Seo-won keep her secret to the end?!
The blurb is most delightful, don't you think?
Prologue:
The world was deluged; it had been raining all day.
‘Raining, all day…'
Seowon looked out of the floor to ceiling windows of the office. She could see her reflection on the panes. She was tall, and lanky. Her hazel eyes were clear and bright behind the thick framed gla.s.ses that sat atop a pert nose. Her hair had been cut in a masculine fas.h.i.+on, and she wore a dark suit. She turned back to the room.
She stood in the office of the Vice President of ELN, Lee Kang-joon, which one of the few offices on the top floor of the skysc.r.a.per that housed ELN's HQ. The office was decorated tastefully and to the highest quality to inform all comers that this was the office of the successor to ELN; a company that currently dominated in the rankings. The walls and floor were light white and grey marble, the windows and gla.s.s furnis.h.i.+ngs were tempered gla.s.s, other furniture and decorations had been crafted by first cla.s.s craftsmen.
The room reflected the perfectionist image of its main occupant. He had been nicknamed ‘The Blade' for his sharp mind, sharp gaze and merciless att.i.tude to others. Being in his office made her uneasy; there was a sense of disparateness. Even though, she came in here every day, she found it hard to adapt. She always wanted to leave as soon as possible.
Seowon placed the report on the large desk and turned to leave.
The door opened. Her body stiffened.
‘Did I startle you?'
Vice President Lee stared at Seowon coolly. In the business world, he was known as a man with perfect looks and charisma.
Seowon took a deep breath and looked up to meet his gaze.
‘I did not realise you had returned. I'm sorry, I did know you were back so I was a little surprised.' Seowon tried to suppress the instinctive tension that built within her when his piercing gaze fell on her.
‘I have just placed the Thawed trade report on your desk. Then, I will leave first.'
As she stepped forward, he stood in her way.
‘Secretary Han.'  He called.
Because he stood too close, Seowon instinctively stepped back.
‘Yes, Vice-President,' such closeness made Seowon uncomfortable, but she stood strong so he did not see her shaking. She looked up at him; he thought his dark grey eyes were more carnivorous than usual.
Vice President Lee's lips curled dangerously as he said, ‘It has been a lot of fun so far.'
‘What do you mean…oh!' she cried out as his large hands pulled her to him roughly. The b.u.t.ton at the top of her s.h.i.+rt popped off from the strength of his hold. (Zuben: Shoddy s.h.i.+rt, if you ask me)
Seowon struggled to get out of his grip, but Kang-joon was hold was very strong,
‘Vice President!'
What the h.e.l.l is this?!
Lee Kang-joon ignored her, and set his gaze on the skin exposed by the missing b.u.t.ton.
f.u.c.k!
‘Ah!' she cried as Kang-joon pushed her against a wall, hard. (Zuben: Speak and the wall doth move closer) He held her arms up against the wall. He stared at her, tilting his head.
‘What…is this?'
Seowon heart went cold and began to beat hard and fast in her chest, and her breathing quickened. In that moment, a thought crept into Seowon's head,
Surely not…No, he couldn't possibly. The suspicion filled her head.
It couldn't be. It can't be.
Suppressing her agitation, she pooled her strength and stared back at him.
‘Han Do-won…' He said as he coldly held her against the wall she could hear hear s.h.i.+rt ripping apart.
‘Why are you doing this?' She demanded as calmly as she could muster, ‘Let go of me right now.'
‘What am I doing?'
Kang-joon laughed mockingly.
It really couldn't be…
Seowon's heart began to beat like crazy as Kang-joon brought his beautiful face closer to hers,
‘Did you really think I wouldn't know?'
‘What…?' Seowon's gaze trembled
‘I've caught you.'
Seowon bit her lip; she felt like she was falling down a black hole.
How could it have been him?!
Seeing her ashen face, he gave a cynical smile, ‘So tell me; why did you trick me?'
Seowon remained silent.
His expression turned fearsome, ‘If you have a mouth, say it, unless you want to anger me.' (Zuben: Is this your playful version, then?)
His tone was cruel, without mercy.
Looking at Lee Kang-joon's angry visage, Seowon suddenly felt faint.
It was over.
All of it.
She was finished.
Zuben:
Now, the main issue for me is; should I leave it out in the open or hide it behind pa.s.swords? What should I do?
