âThe first one, you say? Okay. The first one it is then.â
âWait.â Su Han suddenly asked a very pragmatic question. âDo we have enough money for it?â
âI think so. I asked them to give me a quote for a unit on the 17th floor and, um, this is the amount.â
â17th?â A beam of light flashed through Su Hanâs eyes and he mumbled.
âYeah. 17thfloor. The salesgirl told me that the units on 17th, 19th, and 20th floor were the most expensive ones.â
For things that she didnât know a lot about, Su Ran was a firm believer that price = quality.
âOh.â
So that was it?
Just a coincident?
The light in Su Hanâs eyes dimmed a little.
Without looking at Su Han, Su Ran enlarged the picture on her cellphone and carried on. âThis is the cost of the first one that youâve picked. Just a bit over $7 million. We have enough for down payment right now.â
Then there would be mortgage and cost for remodelingâŠ
âDonât worry. Mom will continue to work hard!â said Su Ran as she patted Su Han on his shoulder.
âClassmate Su Han, you are soon going to be a Second Generation Homeowner. Would you like to share with us how you feel right now?â When she turned and saw Su Han blanking out, looking like he was very worried about the future living, Su Han sighed inwardly and tried to lighten up the mood.
Su Han: I dare not think about anything at all.
âIf we donât have that much money, perhaps we should forego buying an apartment for now?â
âNot buying the place anymore?â asked Su Ran with a frown.
As much as Su Han was excited about owning their own place, Su Han didnât want Su Ran to have to be too stress out over money.
As a junior high school student, Su Han did not pay too much attention to what was going on on the web today and didnât know that Su Ran had rushed over to Yu LeLeâs Studio because of the plagiarism scandal.
He thought Su Ran worked late to make more money.
Thinking that this woman might be gone a lot of nights in the future, Su Han suddenly didnât want the apartment all that much anymore.
He didnât want Su Ran to go back to her old profession for the sake of making money.
Even if Su Han had faith that Su Ran would never go back to doing what she used to do, but coming home late like she did today also pose certain amount of danger.
Especially when she was such a beautiful woman.
Su Ran didnât notice it herself. But quite a few men had stealthily looked at her skittishly on their walk back. Su Han had either blocked them or stared back at them directly.
âWait, son. Stay there. Donât move!â
As Su Han was seriously considering about Su Ranâs safety issue, he was almost startled by Su Ran.
âWhat is it?â
âDonât move. Just stay how you are right now. I want to take a picture of you!â said Su Ran excitedly.
Su Ran had no idea what was going through Su Hanâs mind earlier that had prompted such a serious look on him. But, the truth was, the sophisticated and adult look on him made him looked quite attractive.
Especially his side profile!
A Picture! She must have a picture of him like that!
Even though Su Ran had already taken a few pictures of Su Han during his basketball game last time, but she was sitting quite far away and he was running around on the field, all of those pictures were blurry. Nothing like how it was right now.
Plus, truthfully, the color of their team shirt was quite ugly.
The act of Su Ran pulling out her cellphone ruined Su Hanâs handsome look in one second or less.
âNo pictures!â said Su Han as he quickly turned away.
Did kids nowadays all hate to have their pictures taken?
Su Ran was surprised at how quickly Su Han had dodged.
But Su Ran figured the answer out almost immediately.
She recalled the âmother and son outfitâ photo posted to the parentâs chat group by Du WenTaoâs mother.
His mother was probably the only one who failed to notice the reluctant look on Du WenTaoâs face.
Suddenly, feeling like it was a bit too quiet next to him without Su Ran making her next move, Su Han couldnât help but turned and looked and saw that Su Han was already checking on her cellphone to see when the bus would be arriving.
Su Han: ââŠâŠâ
âWhatâs the matter?â Su Ran looked up and asked as she noticed that her son was looking at her.
âDidnât you say you wanted to take a picture?â asked Su Han, still having a long face on him.
âReally?!â
âJust one. AND, you canât make me look ugly on purpose! And no posting it to the parentâs chat group!â
Su Ran: Oh mi. Howâs her son so cute?
âDonât worry. Itâs only for my own collection! Besides, my son is so handsome. There is no way I can make you look ugly in a picture.
âCâmon. I am going to snap it now.
âDonât smile. Be cool. Like you were just a minute ago!â
