Su Ran walked out of Yu LeLeâs Studio. She was just about to flag down a taxi after she had walked out of the building when she caught sight of a familiar silhouette.
The adolescence boy who had already been getting taller had his backpack on him. He was leaning against a pole next to the building carrying a bag of sort in his hand.
His other hand was shoved inside of his pocket. His head was lowered as though he was deep in thought. Heâd look up occasionally at those who had walked out of the building and walked in front of him before he looked back down.
âSu Han?â Su Ran was genuinely surprised when she saw Su Han.
Many had been walking out of the building during this hour as offices were letting out. Had Su Han not been wearing his uniform, which seemed out of place for where they were right now, and that Su Ran had already been fairly familiar with him, she wasnât even sure she would have spotted him when she walked out.
At that very moment, Su Han, who had been looking down, suddenly looked up toward the front entrance of the building as those he had sensed something.
It wasnât obvious when Su Han had his head lowered but when he looked up, it was a face that was still somewhat childish but the handsomeness was already beginning to form.
The moment that he saw Su Han, a light seemed to have passed through the boyâs eyes and his entire body had lightened up.
Even the few little big sisters who just happened to walk past him couldnât help but took a few extra looks at him before they whispered among themselves.
Oh mi! Look! My son was so handsome!
Su Ran couldnât help but feel a slight sense of pride before she walked quickly toward Su Han.
âWhat are you doing here?â asked Su Ran. She was still fairly surprised seeing Su Han there.
Du WenTaoâs mother did text her earlier letting her know that Su Han did not go over to their place for dinner. Su Ran had wondered whether Su Han had already gone home.
She was trying to rush home because she worried that Su Han, instead of ordering take out, would just try to throwing something together randomly at home.
Su Ran had already have the refrigerator that had only been working on and off fixed a while ago. Even so, owing to Su Ranâs ability in her daily life and her cooking skills, there were only eggs, steam buns, and some packaged food to have with rice in the refrigerator.
They would be fine as breakfast but as dinner, for someone Su Hanâs age, that would definitely not be enough.
Su Han seemed to have paused for a little when Su Ran asked.
âYou told me on WeChat that youâve came here,â said Su Han.
He had been to Yu LeLeâs Studio after the parent-teacher conference last time so when he saw Su Ranâs message, he immediately recalled this place.
Su Ran, ââŠ..â
âMy question was why did you come here instead of going home?â Su Ranâs lips twitched and she stared at Su Han as she asked him the question.
She had, indeed, told him over WeChat that she was here. But, her purpose was just to let him know of her whereabout and have him go home, work on his homework, and not to wait for her for dinner.
Why did Su Han come here then?
âI wasâŠâ were the only two words that came out of Su Han. And then that was all.
Could he not be here? What exactly was wrong with that? Why did this woman have so many questions? Why was she so naggy?
After all those thoughts, Su Han felt way more justified now.
âWell, I am here now,â said Su Han.
But then, how would he explain the guilty feeling that he was experiencing while being stared at by Su Ran?
As though he did not want the awkwardness in his eyes to be seen, Su Han coolly turned his head and looked away from Su Ranâs eyes.
Seeing that, Su Ran had an idea.
But she wasnât going to say it out loud. Haha.
Fine. You keep up with your coolness then. Just make sure you never glance over in my direction!
Looking at the fake stuck-up look on her son, Su Ran had to try very hard to control herself from busting out laughing.
That being said, there was still a smile on Su Ran as she looked at Su Ran with her eyes glowing.
