This sudden thought surprised Ji Qinghuai and it lingered for an entire afternoon. He felt guilty the entire time and it was not until the end of filming that he finally felt relieved.
For the rest of the day, there were no more surprises and he took Xie Yan around the area and chose a hot pot restaurant for dinner. By the time the two of them finished eating, the smell of hotpot clung to them and lingered at the tip of their noses.
On the way back, Xie Yan sat quietly in the passenger seat, staring out the window. Ji Qinghuai didn’t know what he was thinking, but he (JQH) looked at him from time to time. He looked like he wanted to say something but kept hesitating for some reason.
Ten minutes later, the car stopped in front of the lobby of the hotel where Xie Yan was staying. Xie Yan unbuckled his seat belt and said, “See you tomorrow.”
All that was left was to open the door and get off.
Ji Qinghuai suddenly called out. “Mr Xie.”
Seeing Xie Yan look back at him, he hesitated again. He opened his mouth again and forced the words out, “Why don’t you bring your luggage down and come to the hotel I stay at.”
He added, “We can stay together and it is more convenient to meet up.”
Listening to this sentence, Xie Yan felt an odd sensation in his heart that he couldn’t identify. This sentence sounded normal and there was nothing wrong with it, yet he felt a little strange and didn’t know how to reply.
Ji Qinghuai didn’t feel embarrassed himself. Anyways, he no longer had to pretend to be unfamiliar with Xie Yan so he decided to be straightforward with his purpose.
After a while, Xie Yan responded, “Okay.”
What Ji Qinghuai thought about, Xie Yan didn’t realize at all. Ji Qinghuai’s open face made him think that he was being too sensitive.
Anyways, it didn’t matter which hotel he stayed at. Since he asked him to stay at the same hotel, it wasn’t a big deal to change. He pushed the door and got off, entering the hotel to check out and get his luggage. While waiting for him, Ji Qinghuai sent a message to Luo Yi.
The most handsome actor in history: Open another hotel room for me.
After sending the message, he put the phone aside.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Xie Yan pushed a small suitcase and walked over to the car. Ji Qinghuai exited the car and opened the trunk, naturally placing Xie Yan’s suitcase into the trunk. This ordinary act stunned Xie Yan.
Before he met Ji Qinghuai, he had heard a lot of rumours; fighting and making trouble, being arrogant and obstinate. The elders from every family would shake their heads whenever Ji Qinghuai was mentioned, but Xie Yan became even more aware that Ji Qinghuai was different from what the rumours conveyed.
Putting aside his initial prejudice, Xie Yan did not see a hint of arrogance in him. He was a bit petulant and picky, but he was polite and a gentleman. These were all advantages, but he was still a little willful at times, like the time he ran two red lights casually. This seemed to be the only thing he could find fault with Ji Qinghuai
To sum up, Ji Qinghuai was not as bad as he was gossiped to be. On the contrary, Xie Yan felt that he was quite good.
Ji Qinghuai closed the trunk and said to Xie Yan, “Go into the car.”
Xie Yan nodded, walked over to open the door and got in, fastening his seatbelt.
Ji Qinghuai drove the car out of the parking lot and followed the map route to the hotel where he was staying. On the way, he received two messages. Ji Qinghuai didn’t look at it and continued to drive all the way to the entrance of the hotel.
He parked the car and got off first. By the time Xie Yan came out of the car, Ji Qinghuai had already retrieved his suitcase from the trunk. He then locked the car and hauled the suitcase into the hotel without giving Xie Yan a chance to carry it.
Xie Yan followed him and the two took the elevator directly upstairs. Once the elevator door opened, Ji Qinghuai walked out with the suitcase, stopped and took out his mobile phone. “Let me see which room it is.”
Just as he unlocked his phone, Luo Yi’s message jumped out.  Ji Qinghuai opened it and was dumbfounded.
Luo Yi: I just went to ask, the front desk said all the rooms were occupied.
Luo Yi: Do you want me to go to another hotel?
Ji Qinghuai: “…”
This is very embarrassing ah…
Xie Yan saw him staring at the phone with a weird expression and asked, “What’s the matter?”
Ji Qinghuai looked up at Xie Yan with an embarrassed look, “Luo Yi said… there’s no more room here…”
Xie Yan: “…”
He became even more embarrassed. A thousand calculations, but he didn’t foresee that all the rooms would be booked.
He suggested, “Why don’t you come to my room first.” Just he said this, he suddenly realised that it sounded a little familiar. After thinking about it carefully, wasn’t this a scumbag trick to deceive a little girl? First, tell her that all the rooms are booked and then invite her to your room and then…
Ji Qinghuai didn’t dare to look at Xie Yan.
From the bottom of his heart, he really didn’t mean that.
Xie Yan pulled the suitcase, “Let’s go.”
Ji Qinghuai: “! ”
Xie Yan’s expression was calm and his mind hadn’t drifted in the same direction Ji Qinghuai’s had. He walked in unhurriedly while Ji Qinghuai breathed a sigh of relief and silently followed.
The hotel Ji Qinghuai and the others stayed in was just an ordinary small hotel. The filming location chosen by the crew was remote so it was already very good to have a decent hotel to stay in and although the interior was not the best, the rooms were quite spacious.
Xie Yan put his suitcase aside, took out his mobile phone and looked for a nearby hotel, swiping the screen with his fingers. After swiping for a while, he found that the hotel they had just left was the closest one.
Then… go back?
Ji Qinghuai also searched again and was very depressed about this matter.
He couldn’t send Xie Yan back, right? Tch, what do you call this situation?
He looked at Xie Yan, “Why don’t you sleep with me tonight?” Xie Yan raised his head and asked suddenly, “Still afraid?”
Ji Qinghuai quickly realised what he was referring to and put on an act immediately, pretending to be weak, “I’m still very sick today. With you by my side, I’ll feel more secure.”
With a casual sentence, Xie Yan was taken aback.
Xie Yan suddenly felt a little uncomfortable, “Then…I’ll have to trouble you again.”
No doubt Ji Qinghuai was happy. He took his pyjamas and went to take a bath first. Meanwhile, Xie Yan turned on the air conditioner, took out his pyjamas from the suitcase, and waited for a while. Ji Qinghuai came out wiping his hair casually and Xie Yan entered the bathroom after him.
The lingering smell of hot pot was finally washed away and Xie Yan felt a lot more refreshed. When he got dressed and left, he saw Ji Qinghuai sitting on the sofa holding the quilt.
Looking at him, Ji Qinghuai put on a wronged expression and said pitifully,  “Mr Xie, I don’t want to sleep on the sofa anymore.”
When he was at Xie Yan’s house, Ji Qinghuai had slept on the sofa for half a month because he was a cat, but who would give up a bed for a sofa?
Xie Yan smiled helplessly, “I didn’t say you would sleep on the sofa.”
Ji Qinghuai raised his hand to cup his face, looking at Xie Yan thoughtfully. Sure enough, you aren’t so cold with people you know.
Not needing to sleep on the sofa was something worth celebrating. He played with his phone for a while and when drowsiness struck him, he lay down on the bed.
Xie Yan was sitting in a chair and reading some documents. When he looked up, Ji Qinghuai was already asleep. After reading the documents quickly, Xie Yan put down his phone and turned off the lights.
He took off his glasses and raised his eyes. A pair of scarlet eyes with a hint of charm glowed in the darkness. He lifted the quilt and lay down silently.
Xie Yan was a light sleeper. This was attributed to his childhood experience. He was afraid that he would sleep too well and not even know how he died. After so many years, this vigilance had penetrated his bones and any slight movement around him could be detected.
As Ji Qinghuai was asleep, he turned over towards Xie Yan. In a daze, he smelled the faint scent of shower gel on Xie Yan, but he was too tired to think about anything, and fell asleep again.
Xie Yan looked sideways at him and saw that the quilt on his body had been kicked off. If he kicked the quilt two more times, it would fall to the ground. He moved lightly and re-covered Ji Qinghuai with the quilt. Afterwards, he lay down slowly.
Ji Qinghuai had an out-going personality, was a little childish, and a little… clingy? This was the feeling that Xie Yan received from Ji Qinghuai after they got to know each other.
Ji Qinghuai slept quite peacefully. Apart from kicking the quilt, he appeared to be a well-behaved child sleeping. Xie Yan looked at Ji Qinghuai, who was sleeping like a pig and smiled helplessly. He slept so soundly, yet he said he was a light sleeper. If Xie Yan tried to backstab him, he would be finished in one strike.
Inadvertently, he remembered the words Ji Qinghuai had said earlier.
With you by my side, I will feel more secure.
Xie Yan smiled.
The next day, before dawn, Ji Qinghuai’s alarm clock rang first. He reached out to turn off the alarm clock and covered his face under the quilt for a while.
Sensing the movement beside him, Xie Yan got up and put on his glasses, getting out of bed to wash first. Ji Qinghuai rubbed his eyes and sat on the bed in a daze.
After Xie Yan came out, he asked, “Why do you get up so early?”
Xie Yan instead asked, “Don’t you have a shoot this morning? Get up.”
“En.” Ji Qinghuai hummed. He put on his slippers and went to wash up. In the bathroom, he splashed a handful of cold water onto his face and his drowsiness slowly subsided.
As he washed up, Xie Yan tidied the room a little. The two changed their clothes, left without delay, and arrived at the shooting location on time.
Ji Qinghuai had to get his makeup and hair done, so he went straight to the dressing room. At the same time, he ate breakfast and looked lethargic during the whole process. He finally regained his spirits when the set manager came to inform him of the shooting.
Later, during a break, Ji Qinghuai walked towards Xie Yan who was reading a magazine. Ji Qinghuai knew that this magazine was shot by an actress two years ago. Seeing Xie Yan read so seriously, he wondered if he was a fan of the actress. He asked, “You follow stars also?”
“No.” Xie Yan responded, “I have nothing to do, I’m just using it to pass the time.”
Ji Qinghuai asked again, “Does this photo look good?”
Xie Yan replied casually, “It’s not bad.”
Not bad…
Ji Qinghuai was a little upset, “Then, does she look good with me?”
Xie Yan: “…?”
Ji Qinghuai was looking at him directly, so he had to answer.
Xie Yan, “…Hmm.”
“Am I better-looking than her?”
Xie Yan: “…”
What’s with this aggressive tone?
He smiled, “You look like you’re jealous.”
“I am jealous.” Ji Qinghuai answered straightforwardly.
Xie Yan: “…”
He really didn’t know how to respond to this.
Why did he feel that since Ji Qinghuai fell into the water, his words and actions became incomprehensible? Did the cold poison freeze his brain?
Ji Qinghuai grabbed the magazine from Xie Yan’s hand, glanced at it, and happened to see this sentence: Ambiguity is the beginning of love.
Ji Qinghuai was amused. It’s kind of appropriate ah.
At this time, producer Ding Lei walked over to them and asked Ji Qinghuai with a smile, “What are you talking about?”
Ji Qinghuai closed the magazine in his hand, “Talking about the magazine.”
Producer Ding saw that Ji Qinghuai seemed to be in a good mood, and took this opportunity to ask, “Teacher Ji, shall we discuss something?”
Ji Qinghuai thought it was a trivial matter, so he didn’t care much. “What’s the matter?”
Producer Ding said, “We think your role is a bit small so we wanted to add a few more scenes for you.”
It was common for scenes to be added or deleted based on the adjustment of the script during filming. Ji Qinghuai asked casually, “What scenes do you want to add?”
“They are all good scenes.” Producer Ding said with a smile, “Just some emotional scenes and two kiss scenes.”
Ji Qinghuai: “…”
Add a kiss scene?
Ji Qinghuai’s first thought was that Xie Yan was still around. What a joke!!!
