âMaster!â Du Fan and the others were so ecstatic that they couldnât help but call her again.
âLittle Jiu!â From behind, Guan Xilin came forward and looked at them with joy. âLittle Jiu, Mo Ze, itâs been a long time.â
âBig Brother!â Feng Jiu was so happy to see him. âWhen did you arrive? Are you the only one coming?â
âIâve been here for a while and Iâm the only one coming. Go, letâs talk in the manor.â Guan Xilin looked at Xuanyuan Mo Ze as he spoke, reaching out to pat his shoulder and saying, âIt seems youâve had a wonderful five years!â Although he couldnât determine their strength, he could tell they were much stronger than before.
Xuanyuan Mo Zeâs lips curved upwards. âIt was fine.â
âLittle Haoâer, donât you recognize me?â Guan Xilin came in front of Haoâer, reaching out and lifting him up. âThe little boy has grown so big.â
âHaoâer, call him uncle.â Feng Jiu smiled and looked at Haoâer, signalling him to greet Guan Xilin.
âUncle.â Haoâer obediently called out.
âGood boy!â Guan Xilin laughed as he rubbed the boyâs head.
Haoâer blinked and looked at Guan Xilin with curiosity. When he noticed how little he looked like his beautiful mother, he couldnât help but ask, âUncle, why donât you look like my mother?â
His mother was so beautiful, but his uncle, well, he was just too burly. Was it because he ate so much?
âBecause we are sworn siblings! Naturally, we look different.â Guan Xilin laughed as he carried him inside.
Hearing this, Haoâerâs interest was piqued; his eyes darted back and forth between his uncle and his mother. The more he thought, the brighter his eyes became.
They were not biologically related, just as he was not his motherâs child. But his mother treated him well as if he were her own son. The same was true of his uncle, who was not his motherâs biological brother, but she treated him as if he were a beloved elder brother.
As if figuring out something, the child grinned and asked, âUncle, have you ever seen Haoâer before?â
âMm, when you were tiny, Uncle held you.â Guan Xilin said as they entered the hall.
Xuanyuan Mo Ze and Feng Jiu took the main seats, with the others on either side. Servants walked back and forth with trays of pastries and tea as they set the table and then left.
âHellâs Lord, Miss, Little Master.â Elder Mei stepped forward and bowed to them, but his eyes were always on Haoâer.
Seeing him, Xuanyuan Mo Ze said nothing, just picked up his tea and took a light sip, while Feng Jiu smiled lightly. Haoâer, on the other hand, looked at him with interest, and when he noticed his bald head, his smile faded, and he quietly nestled in Feng Jiuâs arms.
âElder Mei, itâs been five years, I thought you would have left, but I didnât expect you to be waiting here.â Feng Jiu sighed softly, her gaze falling on Elder Mei.
Elder Mei bowed his head in response. âIâve always been waiting for Miss and Little Master to come back.â
âPlease take a seat! Iâll talk to you later. â Feng Jiu motioned for him to sit down and then turned to look at the others.
