âUgh my head! Itâs quite taxing to be trapped inside the body of such an inferior organism. Wait, didnât you come back early, Johra?â
Abaddon was clutching her head in pain as she asked me.
âI suppose I did, have you been doing well, Abaddon?â
âAs you can see, with the Time flux all in disarray, one can barely call it living.â
âIâm sorry to hear that.â
âNo need to be sorry, simply upholding the promise between us.â
âSo you havenât forgotten?â
âNaturally, why else would I be enduring this pain, over and over again?â
âHave you felt something, Abaddon?â
âThe thing as you talked about? The change I should experience after all this time?â
âYes.â
I nodded back to Abaddon. Sha had stepped to the side and was listening to our conversation, while L was still focused on eating his steak.
âSigh* Wellâ
Abaddon had a blank look as she stared at the ceiling.
âDid you not feel something, Abaddon?â
â6.6 billion years, its a time period that beyond imagination. You have no idea.â
âI suppose I donât.â
At first it was basically a long and free vacation. That was the case for the first ten million years or so. The world was simple, with nothing worth remembering or mentioning. However, after the first billion years, Skyfather began spreading life across the universes. He needed to build an engine of Divine Grace in order to increase his strength.â
âAn engine of Divine Grace? Isnât that what results from the interactions between living beings?â
âYes. Basically, Skyfather continued to play the role of the leader of gods amongs the newly developed ratmen. He began experimenting with space, using the science and magic which we bestowed on him, as if he were a real God.â
âIt looks like quite a few things have happened then.â
âRight, as an experiment, he caused the extinction of a few million creatures. Sometimes he would fuse other creaturesâ powers with new hosts.he wasnât so much a God, as a researcher with a Godâs power.
âReally, extinction?â
âThe purpose of developing and pushing the boundaries of science was all to develop new weapons for war. Blowing up planets and wiping out civilizations all for sake of some tests. He definitely committed a lot of these actions.â
âDammit, did the Skyfather truly do that?â
âI can suppose that he was beginning to feel strange emotions, and this was his manner of testing how the results affected him. At the very least all his actions were in the pursuit of one thing.â
âWhat is that one thing?â
âThe purpose you had originally given me which is to find a value to my existence.â
âBut why would he experiment with life in such a way? Somehow I donât think that this will lead to the future which I came from.â
Abaddon shook her head.
âThese are in fact necessary sacrifices which will result in the exact future which youâre from, so I can understand Skyfatherâs intentions. He doing all this to ensure your future.â
âSo all this deaths are just necessary sacrifices?â
âRight, for the moment, he will focus on defeating Metatron, but once thatâs out of the way he will surely erase all forms of life save for that planet you came from. Something about activating a Erasing Code which would wipe out the genetic code of all mortal life.
âThatâs insane! Sure, I feel that my future is important, but to sacrifice all forms of life.â
âJohra, with regards to the future you came from, this current moment is naturally its past. Your reality might entirely disappear if this present time doesnât follow a very specific course. In fact, deviating from said course would even put all the universes in peril, returning to the endless cycle of death and rebirth.â
âThen is there no other solution other than going forward with Skyfatherâs plan for mass extinction? If we were to put a stop to him, would we be back to square one?â
âThere might be, but besides you there has been no one who could modify the time continuum. And even when you did so, it received a critical injury resulting in things being all out of whack.
âWhat so in the end it is once again my fault?â
âOf course, who else but you could travel across time to put a stop to me and help create Skyfather?â
I had no response.
I had obviously been the cause behind all this. Still, even though the methods were not at all what Iâd condone, I didnât have a better solution myself.
I closed my eyes in order to organise my thoughts.
âWas it really justified to ensure the reality which I was familiar with at the expense of the countless lives currently in this universe? On one hand I couldnât possibly give up on my beloved Viezda, my daughter Veznos as well as Valenor. But on the other hand, was it really okay to do so at the cost of so many lives?â
Both were options which any sane man couldnât choose between.
âEnough, Iâm Johra! Itâs fate for my future to be safe and harmonious, the rest be damned! Iâll be selfish about this.â
âYour thinking is actually quite immatureâ
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Sha gave a half-hearted applause and a small smile. Hearing that, L turn and said to me.
âSha said that her thinking is in line with yours. Youâve always done whatever you wanted and thatâs the reason why we are where we are. She said sheâs looking forward to seeing the end which youâve promised us.â
âWhat promise are you talking about?â
Sha nodded her head and they spoke between themselves.
âSha says that Abaddon will soon lose her memories. Umm I think it would be better for Sha and myself to separate Abaddonâs personality in order to better support Johra.â
âHuh? What does that even mean?â
âAbaddonâs memory is reset from time to time, so itâs hard for her to help you return.â
âOh, so thereâs no chance of me succeeding alone?â
Sha shook her head then communicated once more with El.
âShe says that with Johraâs current ability, not to mention Skyfather, even Metatron would be to much to handle. That wouldnât be the case however if we split Abaddonâs power and help you, that way we might chance to win.â
âThen can you return everything after the deeds been done?â
Sha shook her head.
âThatâs a problem then.â
Sha whispered to L again
âDonât worry about that, despite Abaddon originally being a part of us, even if we were to split her between u,s our memories would still return when the time came.
Shaâs eyes showed that she was determined to see it through and El would always back her up; however Abaddon was frowning.
âMe join with you two? Are you crazy? Are you trying to start Ragnarok prematurely?â
âRagnarok?â
My eyes lit up at the mention of that familiar word.
Sha and El communicated between themselves, nodding to each other in agreement.
