Chapter 117 –  No Matter Who
“Thank you so much for today, Mayu-chan.”
“I got to see Yot-chan, plus I got to see the fireworks, so it’s all good.”
The mothers continued their friendly talk with each other while tidying up the tent.
We were helping, but I was so angry with myself for being so pathetic that I wasn’t able to laugh with them.
And before I knew it, the cleanup was over and we said our goodbyes.
“Everyone, thank you very much. Sara-chan, feel free to come back again if you like.”
“Yes, thank you.”
“Then, see you later, Yot-chan.”
And that was how the fireworks activity ended.

“Before we go home, I want to make a quick stop somewhere.”
Mayumi-san said after a while upon beginning to drive.
“It won’t take that much time, so please bear with me.”
With that said, the car started climbing up the mountainous road, and after a short drive, we came to a place that looked like a hill.
Then the car parked to which looked like a parking lot.
“Everyone, we’re here.”
Looks like we arrived at Mayumi-san’s destination.
It was a slightly wide and elevated area, and considering the time, there were still a number of people, and strangely enough, most of them are couples.
“For some reason, there are a lot of people like that here.”
“Yeah, I wonder why.”
Natsumi-senpai and Hayato didn’t directly say that there were many couples, but they felt they were out of place.

Sara-senpai’s impressed voice resounded.
Standing up next to Sara-senpai, I looked at the night view from the hilltop.

Both me and Sara-senpai were stunned by the night view with sparkling lights of the city from the hilltop.
And before we knew it, Natsumi-senpai and Hayato had come up beside us and seemed to be equally amazed.
Did Mayumi-san bring us here for this?
What is this place in the first place?

 you wanna know why I wanted to come here?”
Mayumi-san asked with a mischievous expression.

“How could we know, Mother? I’m glad that we were able to see a beautiful night view, but what is this place?”
Perhaps Sara-senpai felt that Mayumi-san was teasing her, so she strongly confronted Mayumi-san.
Still with her mischievous expression, Mayumi-san said.
“This place
 is where that person confessed to me.”
At Mayumi-san’s bombshell statement, all of us went quiet.
“After we watched the fireworks display together, he told me there was a place he wanted to stop by.”
Mayumi-san started walking while looking at the night view.
We followed Mayumi-san’s lead and arrived at what looked like a gate with a large bell attached to it.

While saying that, she rang the bell with a somewhat loving feeling.

I also thought that it was a nice story.

I looked at Sara-senpai and noticed that she was looking at the bell.
I can’t tell what she was thinking from her expression, just that she was staring at the bell.
I wonder, what she was thinking about? Probably something about her parents

But as I gazed at Sara-senpai, I felt my heart going wild.
There are people around us. Natsumi-senpai, Hayato, and even Mayumi are here.
I showed my pathetic side at the fireworks display. I even made Sara-senpai say she was waiting for me.
Listening to Mayumi-san’s story, I felt even more pathetic.
I should stop being pathetic. No matter who asked, I should be able to say it with pride.
The place doesn’t matter; I need to tell Sara-senpai how I feel.
That’s right. I know Sara-senpai was waiting for me, yet I’m still not doing anything!

 No, Sara-san!!!”
My out-of-place voice echoed out on the quiet hill.
