Chapter 109 – Just The Two of Us

“Kazunari-san, please don’t overdo it.”

Currently, Sara-senpai and I are in the continuous-flow pool.

As a side note, Natsumi-senpai took Yuji away… forcibly.

Truthfully, there were many attractions, many of which were fun, but Sara-senpai, concerned about my right hand, stubbornly refused to let me go.

So now, we are both relaxing in this flowing pool.

“Sara-senpai… I’m sorry. It’s all my fault…”

“Kazunari-san… *poke*.”

Sara-senpai suddenly poked me on the forehead.

“I did this because I wanted to. You’re not at fault, Kazunari-san.”

Sara-senpai smiled and spoke conscientiously, persuading me.

“Besides… these past few days, I have always felt happy and joyful to be with Kazunari-san, but now I feel something else as well…”

It looked like Sara-senpai was worrying about something and began talking.

Apart from “that expression,” it seemed like it wasn’t anything terrible.

“I can’t express it well, but I’m sure this feeling is important. And I’m glad I’ve come to understand that.”

Sara-senpai’s hand touched my left hand as she said this, and we gently held hands.

I gripped her hand with more strength, which made the hold even tighter.

“Just being with you like this…”

Maybe this will put Sara-senpai’s mind at ease, and she might realize something herself.

It might be conceited of me to say, but I believe that Sara-senpai was showering me with a lot of love and affection.

I would be happy if Sara-senpai knew that what she did was affection not for her best friend but for a boy-girl relationship.

While we were relaxing in the pool, a sudden splash surprised us.

“Uwaa!”

“Kyaa!”

It was so sudden that I quickly took a defensive position to guard Sara-senpai.

Someone had jumped into the water, but I knew who it was immediately.

“Fu~ah! Sorry for interrupting you two~.”

Natsumi-senpai was the one who jumped into the water with great vigor.

She said sorry. But based on Natsumi-senpai’s looks, she was not ashamed one bit.

She was in high spirits… Well, it’s a loss if you don’t enjoy coming to a place like this.

“A-ah! Kazunari-san! Y-your right hand!”

Hearing Sara-senpai’s panicking voice, I looked over at my right hand. I was gripping Sara-senpai’s shoulder with all my might.

Touching Sara-senpai’s bare skin… How smooth and soft it was!

I mean, that’s not the time to be thinking such thoughts!

“I’m sorry, Sara-senpai! I touched you by instinct…”

“That’s not important! Your right hand… is it okay?”

Ah, come to think of it.

It doesn’t hurt… but I feel a little uncomfortable.

Sara-senpai frantically held my right hand and started rubbing my wrist.

“I’m alright. I just feel a little uncomfortable.”

“That feeling of discomfort, is it around here?’

Sara-senpai carefully stroked my hand with an expression that was a mixture of worry and anxiety.

Natsumi-senpai, who was watching our exchange, spoke out in a nervous voice.

“Ah, uh, I’m sorry…”

“Natsumi! I told you that Kazunari-san’s injuries are not fully healed yet! Stop fooling around!?”

“I-I’m sorry!”

It was the first time I’d seen Sara-senpai so angry with Natsumi-senpai.

I have to stop her.

“Sara-senpai, I’m alright! This level of discomfort is just something that usually happens once in a while, so it’s really fine!”

I managed to persuade Sara-senpai to calm down and compose herself.

Though she was still anxiously rubbing my wrist.

“If you feel something is wrong, please say so immediately. Natsumi, let’s talk later.”

“Yes…”

It looks like there will be preaching time later.

Well, she brought it to herself.

“Uhh, did anything happen?”

Yuji arrived with a drink in his hand.

Did she plan to make Yuji buy the drink so that she can do this? Or maybe Natsumi-senpai was just too excited.

Sara-senpai was asleep and leaning on my shoulder.

I was thankful that the train on the way home was empty and that there were plenty of available seats.

Everyone was exhausted, so it would have been tough if we couldn’t sit down.

This was an excellent chance to see Sara-senpai’s cute sleeping face. But from this angle… it’s tough! What a shame!

In front of me were Natsumi-senpai and Yuji sleeping in an inventive position, leaning against each other.

These two seem to be getting along quite well.

Well, it looked like Yuji was just being pushed around, though.

It’s been a while since we all went out together like this. As expected, it’s truly enjoyable.

Next time, I’ll definitely invite Hayato.

“Uu… nn… Kazunari-san?”

It seems that Sara-senpai woke up.

We still have plenty of time left before we arrive. Sara-senpai could have stayed asleep a little longer.

“Sara-senpai, we still have some time before we arrive. Please sleep a little longer, okay?”

Although I said that, she seemed to have entirely woken up.

It was a pity. The blissful time when Senpai was leaning over me had ended.

That was what I thought, but she kept her head on my shoulder and didn’t move away.

“Sara-senpai?”

“Umm… Can I stay like this for a little longer?”

Saying that like a spoiled child, Sara-senpai pulled her body closer to mine.

“Of course. You can stay like this until we get there.”

“Okay.”

Senpai looked really happy. I wanted to pet her head, so I reached out my hand from the other side.

“Fufu…”

She looked like a cat being spoiled and looked very cute when I petted her head.

“Hey, you couple of idiots, find a room!”

“I never thought Kazunari would be such a character.”

It wasn’t long before I realized that Natsumi-senpai and Yuji had woken up and were looking at us with blank stares.
