Enna Clark pulled open the drawer, threw the note inside, and closed it again.
Who cares why he suddenly got married? It had nothing to do with her anyway.
She didnāt want to care about William or the Clark Family anymore.
She adjusted her mood, turned on the computer, and was about to open a document for work. Her phone vibrated, she took it out and saw it was a text message.
Before she could reply, a new message came in.
āAre you at the company?
Just from the speed and tone of the messages, she didnāt need to guess who it was.
She unlocked her screen, typed āIām hereā and sent it. Ten seconds later, a message came back.
āIām on the 33rd floor waiting for you, come up!
The 33rd floor, wasnāt that the Presidentās office?
She didnāt want to expose their relationship at the company yet, so she didnāt care and put her phone aside. Beep beep beep!
The phone vibrated again.
She looked around, making sure no one was paying attention to her, then quickly stood up, answered the phone, and walked to the windowā¦
āHello? Whatās up?ā
āCanāt I call you for no reason?ā Baron Lawrenceās tone wasnāt very good, he ominously stressed, āEnna Clark, donāt forget what you promised me yesterday! ā
āā¦ā What did she promise him yesterday?
Baron Lawrence, not getting an answer from the woman on the other side for a while, suddenly felt a fire burning in his chest. He sat up from his leather chair, squinting his hawk-like eyes as he gazed at the morning scene of Capital City.
āYou forgot we are dating?!ā An unmistakable warning!
Enna finally realized what he meant and playfully replied, āI only remember agreeing to try, but I didnāt agree to date.ā
Baron Lawrence instantly felt an urge to strangle her!
He kicked over the trash can beside him, gritted his handsome face, and threatened her, āTrying is dating!ā
āWho says so?ā āI say so!ā
On the other end of the call, the man had quickly issued a command, āCome to the 33rd floor. Iām waiting for you in my office.ā
Without waiting for Ennaās response, he continued, āYou donāt have to come up if you donāt want to. Iāll come down! You have five minutes. If youāre not here in five minutes, Iām coming down to find you.ā
With that, he hung up the phone.
Enna only came out of her stupor when she heard the busy tone from the other end of the line.
She looked at the time, it was exactly 9:30, peak hours for work. The secretaries of the Presidentās office had arrived. If she entered his office in front of those people, she could imagine what kind of gossip would circulate in the company tomorrow.
But⦠she couldnāt not go!
She knew him all too well!
He would do what he said!
If she didnāt go up in five minutes, he would definitely come down to find her.
If he really came down, she would never be able to explain herself!
Enna Clark weighed the pros and cons quickly and resignedly grabbed her phone, heading for the elevator.
Just as Tiffany Clifford came out with water, she saw Enna walking toward the elevator and stopped her, āEnna, the pufferfish is almost here, where are you going?
āIā¦ā Enna was caught off guard by the question.
Just as she didnāt know how to answer, Tiffany suddenly realized, āAh, you still havenāt given up? You want to go upstairs to find the new president?ā
To find Baron Lawrence⦠Enna reacted, she was talking about the program rescheduling!
She immediately said, āYes, I want to try again.ā
āI advise you not to have too much hope. Our big president is impervious to
