Chapter 6: The sealed Xuanyuan Sword (1)

“Then, Wan’er, how can the second seal be released?”  Feng Xiao wanted to release all the seals as soon as possible and see the true power of the Xuanyuan sword.

“Master, to release the second seal, it requires…….It requires the blood of a qilin.”  Xuanyuan Wan’er anxiously said.

Putong!

If Feng Xiao’s feet weren’t steady, he would have fallen down.

What was a qilin?  It was number one among the sacred beasts of the Heavenly Dragon Continent, it could be considered the peak existence on the Heavenly Dragon Continent.  Obtaining a qilin’s blood?  What a joke.  It could kill countless level 100 players just by letting out a fart.

“Master, I know that this is very hard, but at least there is still hope.  I believe that one day, master will be able to do it.  Wan’er hasn’t given up after countless tens of thousands of years, but haven’t I succeeded in breaking free now!  What master needs to do now is become strong as fast as possible.”  Xuanyuan Wan’er comforted Feng Xiao in a soft voice.  To her, this master was her only hope right now.

“Relax, Wan’er.  I won’t give up that easily.  Without giving it a try, how could I know whether I’ll succeed or not?”  Wan’er’s words aroused Feng Xiao’s pride.  How could he lose to this little girl?  Moreover, the Xuanyuan Sword was his lifetime goal.  Although he was currently owned it inside of a game, how could he just easily give it up?

A seal that could suppress the Xuanyuan Sword, how could it be easy to release?  This, will just be considered as trial for me.  Feng Xiao decided deep in his heart.

“Wan’er, can you tell me about the great battle between demons and gods?  Also, why was the Xuanyuan Sword sealed?”  Feng Xiao asked about the issues he still had questions on.  When Xuanyuan Wan’er spoke of the great battle between demons and gods, he didn’t feel any emotions in response.  After all, every game had some kind of backstory and the great battle between demons and gods was probably one of the historical moments of the game.

“Although Wan’er doesn’t know a lot of the specific details, Wan’er still knows most of the general details.  Does master still want to listen?”

“Un, tell me about it Wan’er.  Also in the future…..there’s no need to call me master.  It is a little…..strange.  You can just call me Wind Spirit, or if you’re willing, you can call me Big Brother Feng.”  A name like “Master” to a modern person like Feng Xiao, it seemed a little……too evil.

But, Feng Xiao had already forgotten that Wan’er has existed for at least several tens of thousands of years.  If he really wanted to talk about seniority……

“Ah, ok.  Feng……Big Brother Feng.”

“Big Brother Feng, do you know about god realm?  The human realm exists on earth and the god realm exist in heaven.  Since Pangu created heaven back when the world was just forming from chaos, the god realm has always been overlooking the development of the human realm.  War and peace.  Prosperity and decay.”

“The god realm was divided into the eastern and western god realms.  The eastern god realm is the legendary paradise of the Chinese people.  It is ruled over by the Jade Emperor and has the incomparably powerful Buddha sitting behind him.  The western god realm is ruled by the God King Zeus.  While the eastern and western god realms rarely communicated, they still had no conflicts between each other.”

“The benevolent Buddha, the heroic Jade Emperor, compassionate Queen Mother, and their entire family.  There was no greed and poverty, no war and oppression like the human world.  The gods lived a peaceful and normal life, but no one would have imagined that this kind of life would one day all change.”

Feng Xiao silently sat down on the grass as he attentively listened the miraculous story that Wan’er told.

“Buddha held a rebirth ceremony that would have lasted for a hundred million years.  He would lose all his powers, but would become stronger in the end.  That day, Buddha would lose all his powers and would be in a weakened state for a hundred million years.  But, no one was worried because the god realm had no enemies.  Even if there were, they had no way of threatening them.

“However, at the beginning of the rebirth ceremony, in that minute that Buddha lost all his powers, something terrifying occurred.  The sky opened up and countless strange beings appeared, each one incomparably strong.  The gods that were accustomed to peace did not have any suspicions in their heart.  Caught of guard, they could only silently watch as Buddha was killed by the leader.  It was on that day, Buddha died and the great battle between gods and demons began.”

“Buddha died?”  Feng Xiao asked in surprise.

“Yes, in that minute where all the god realm residents had absolute faith, Buddha passed away.  Countless gods’ faith was also shattered.”

“As for how the demons appeared and why the attacked the god realm, no one knows the answer.  The gods counter attacked under the leadership of the Jade Emperor and they could only pray for help from the western god realm.  However, the demons were too strong, particularly the Demon Monarch.  Even the great sage of heaven was defeated by him.  The god realm retreated in defeat again and again and were defeated daily.  The Heavenly Palace suffered large scale damage everyday.”

“Finally, the western god realm’s God King Zeus personally led the western gods to help, in fear that they would be the next target.  But, beyond all expectations, even after the eastern and western gods joined hands, they were still defeated.  It was because the Demon Monarch was too strong.  In the previous fight, he had not displayed his full strength.  The Demon Monarch at full strength was actually not the slightest bit inferior to Buddha.”

“Out of desperation, the gods thought of their final hope…..”

“What is it!?”  Feng Xiao felt his heart swell with emotion from hearing Wan’er speaking.  Each word of this fantastic tale made him excited.

“God Executing Array!”

“The ancient and legendary, Xuanyuan Sword’s God Executing Array!?”  Feng Xiao shouted in shock.

“Using the Ten Thousand Blood Spirit Pearl, Eastern Emperor’s Bell, Xuanyuan Sword, Pangu’s Axe, Monster Refining Pot, Clear Heaven Tower to form the ‘Nine Heavens Array’.  With the Xuanyuan Sword as the trigger, this God Executing Array could destroy the world and swallow the heavens.  But when the gods were collecting the Ten Divine Artifacts, they discovered in shock that the Eastern Emperor’s Bell, Pangu’s Axe, and Clear Sky Tower had unexpected disappeared.”

“But reality did not give them time to think.  In desperation, the gods could only take the Ten Thousand Blood Spirit Pearl, Fu Xi’s Qin, Shen Nong’s Cauldron, Kong Tong’s Seal, Kun Lun’s Mirror, and Nu Wa’s pearl to form the ‘Lost Array’.  Adding in the powers of the Monster Refining Pot and with the Xuanyuan Sword as the core, they forcefully used the ‘Lost Array’ to launch the ‘God Executing Array’.”

“Did……did they succeed?”

“Perhaps, but I didn’t see the situation back then.  The God Executing Array was released and countless gods fainted from the pressure released.  But the Demon Monarch’s strength exceeded everyone’s expectation and actually resisted the might of the God Executing Array.  In the end, the Demon Monarch was only sealed and not destroyed.  When I awoken, the first words I heard were, ‘The heaven and earth have been reversed’.  I had no way of understanding what that sentence meant and no one had mentioned to me ever again.  From that day on, the Demon Monarch was sealed, but what was strange was that the people of the god realm all seemed to be terrified of something.  It was almost as if there was something that was a hundred times more terrifying than the Demon Emperor.”

“The side effects of forcefully activating the God Executing Array from the Lost Array finally appeared.  The seven Divine Artifacts used to create the array were sealed and no one in the god realm could release them.  And the core Xuanyuan Sword was sealed by the other six artifacts and had received a total of seven incomparably strong seals.”

“The great battle between gods and demons lasted for a month.  During this month, the gods had suffered a unrecoverable loss.  After the Demon Monarch had been sealed for a hundred days, I…..as the sword spirit embarked on a mission to find the person with a Chaotic Body.”

Feng Xiao calmly listened to Xuanyuan Wan’er’s story, but his heart could not help being thrown into chaos.
