We set off for the Adventurerâs Guild.
Serulis, Luchila and Milka were with me. Also Grulf and Gerberga.
Gerberga was riding on Grulfâs back.
It sounded like Gerberga was clucking out orders while riding him.
Apparently, Grulf considered Gerberga above him in rank.
We arrived at the Adventurerâs Guild after walking for some time and quickly went inside.
There was a simple hall inside of the guild for eating.
Shia was sitting in that hall and drinking tea and eating pastries.
Ario and Josh were also sitting with her. It seemed like they were having a lively conversation.
Shiaâs tail wagged vigorously as soon as she caught sight of me.
âOh? What is it, Mister Locke? I didnât think you would come to the guild today.â
âMister Locke, you moved houses? Congratulations.â
âCongratulations on the new house.â
Shia looked a little surprised.
Ario, the F Rank Sorcerer, laughed happily.
Josh, the F Rank Archer and Scout, lowered his head politely.
I had once hunted goblins with Ario and Josh.
âAh, thank you. I know itâs rather sudden, but are you busy?â
âOh, we arenât on any quest right now, anyway. We were going to take the day off.â
âIf you need more people, we would be glad to help.â
âI am also quite unoccupied!â
Luckily, Ario, Josh and even Shia had not accepted any quests.
âThatâs good. I do have a request to makeâŠâ
âDo-do you need help moving?â
âThatâs not it. Itâs a bit of a dangerous mission. You can refuse if you want.â
âI too will accept it.â
Ario, Josh, and Shia accepted it.
âDonât you want to hear the details first?â
âIt is fine. I wonât reject a request from you, Locke.â
âI too will accept any request from you, Mister Locke!â
âYou really shouldnât say such things so lightly.â
After that, I introduced to them, my companions.
Serulis, Luchila, Milka, and Grulf and Gerberga as well.
Of course, Gereberga was only introduced as a cute chicken.
It was better to keep that part a secret for now.
And then I talked about our plans to defeat Kabino.
I wanted Ario, Josh, and Shia to block the back exits.
This was so they could arrest any who tried to escape.
âTo be blunt, it will be dangerous. You can refuse if you want.â
âThatâs not a problem. Leave it to us.â
âTo think that such bad people are in the capital. I will not forgive them!â
Serulis and I would be part of the group charging in from the front.
âThe problem is Lord GerbergaâŠâ
âLuchila, Lord Gerberga, and Grulf should stay outside of the front entrance after we have gone in.â
Grulf seemed very excited about it.
Grulf was strong. However, as he was still young, I did not want him to fight alone.
It would be better for him to stick with Luchila.
After that, we ran over to Kabinoâs house.
This was so we would arrive at the time that was discussed with the district manager.
We arrived early and so I had Shia, Ario, and Josh take up their positions.
Shortly after, it was time for the plan to begin, and the district manager and his subordinates all took their positions.
The district manager had brought half of his subordinates, which was ten men.
He was not able to bring them all, as that would impact their other daily duties.
âI will go with Serulis and Milka. Luchila, you and the others stay here.â
âIâm trembling with excitement.â
Milka looked nervous. She was shaking and perhaps a little afraid.
On the surface, I would appear to be Milkaâs guardian and ask them to leave her alone.
I had decided that taking her would make it easier to talk and appear more proper.
However, if she was this afraid, it might be better that she didnât come.
It would make things harder to explain, but it wasnât anything I couldnât manage.
âMilka. Would you rather stay here with Luchila?â
âNo, I am going too! Itâs my problem as well.â
âI see. But donât worry. I will protect you.â
Then I turned to Luchila and said,
âTake anyone who tries to escape.â
âLeave it to us. And you be careful, Mister Locke.â
Everyone seemed roused for what was to come. Especially Grulf.
He probably wanted to make up for his failure to wake up the other day when there was a suspicious noise.
âGrulf. Donât do anything dangerous.â
âAnd listen to Luchila.â
I patted him on the head. Grulfâs tail wagged happily.
After that, we walked up to the door of Kabinoâs house in order to ring the bell.
Just as I was about to ring it, I heard a small scream.
âDonât think you can escape!â
âPlease! Forgive me!â
The screaming and shouting were coming from within the building.
It seemed like Kabinoâs house was mostly soundproof.
I had come very close to the door and could only barely hear the screaming.
âIt sounds like an emergency. Milka, you must wait here with Luchila.â
Once I saw that Milka had returned to Luchila, I tore the door down with my sword.
Of course, it was the Devil King Sword. The door came apart like butter.
I kicked down the remains and charged into the building.
