And so I explained everything from the beginning.
âI went out on a walk with Nia, Lord Gerberga and GrulfâŠâ
Katheâs bothersome roar, searching the ruins, killing the vampires. I explained it all. Serulis asked with a serious expression,
âSo, the vampires are after these ancient ruins.â
âYes. Kathe thinks that the concealment magic has weakened due to timeâŠâ
âAnd now the vampires have been going around and exposing them.â
âThatâs very likely.â
Caves that didnât contain the machines were left alone.
Like the cave that we first met Kathe in. There were only goblins there.
âWell, it sure looks like Katheâs obsession with protecting cultural property helped you.â
âYes, I guess you could say that.â
While the start of it was annoying, we wouldnât have known about those vampires without Katheâs help.
That would have resulted in more Foolâs Stones being created.
âAh, right. I brought something other than snacks back with me as well.â
So saying, I took out the sword I got from the Vampire Lord, and put it on the table.
âThis sword was used by a Vampire Lord. Itâs not cursed, so I will give it to whoever wants to use it.â
Serulis picked it up. Then she unsheathed it and swung it lightly.
âYes. I think it is a good sword.â
âIt didnât break against the Devil King Sword, and it cut through the floor of the dragon ruins very easily.â
âThatâs amazing. Shia, Nia. Will one of you use it?â
âI already received a sword from Mister Locke. So Iâm fine.â
âMy sword is very special. You should take it, Sister Serulis.â
âNia, your sword is special?â
âYes. I am still young, so it is a special training sword.â
âIt looks like an ordinary sword to me.â
Shia patted Nia on the head and said,
âThe sword itself is normal, but it is made to match her height and build.â
âSo itâs short and light in weight for children?â
âNo, quite the opposite. We beastkin train with heavy, longer swords.â
âI see. You have some funny customs.â
âIt is so she can put on some muscle.â
âThat being said, having it too long or heavy will mess up your sense of balance. And so it is very meticulously designed.â
âI see. Sounds like a lot of work.â
I wondered how effective this method was.
But then again, here was Shia. Fifteen and already a B-rank Adventurer.
At the very least, it seemed to agree with beastkin wolves.
âSo Shia and Nia donât need it. What about you, Serulis? Or is your sword also special?â
âNo, itâs a normal sword.â
âSerulis, can I look at your sword?â
So saying, she handed me her sword.
Yes, it was definitely nothing special. However, it was store bought and expensive.
Perhaps about three million rucks.
But the sword I just acquired was still better.
âSerulis, unless you are very picky, you should use this sword.â
ââŠThank you. Iâll take good care of it.â
She said happily. I was glad that she liked it.
And then we finished eating lunch.
The dishes were washed and we returned to the dining room.
âMister Locke bought us some snacks! And I put on some tea!â
Milka said as she brought the snacks and tea into the room.
âDonât mention it!â
Milka looked a little bashful as she petted Grulf.
I decided that I would tell Milk about my identity.
âYouâre quite smart, Milka. So you might have guessed this alreadyâŠâ
Milka pretended like she didnât know. But her hand seemed to quicken as she scratched Grulfâs fur.
Perhaps she didnât want to pry.
Grulf wagged his tail and breathed loudly.
Milka and Grulf seemed to have become a lot closer.
âIf you really donât want to hear itâŠthat is fine as wellâŠâ
âNo, I will listen if you will trust me. It would be very flattering!â
And so I explained it to her.
But Milka hadnât even known about Eric, the Hero King.
She probably would not find the truth so surprising.
âAre you serious! You are that famous Ruck! Wow!â
Milka was surprisingly surprised.
She got up loudly from her chair and leaned forward with both hands slammed down on the table.
âAnd the king you met recently is the Hero Eric.â
âAnd Goran is THE Goran.â
âSister Serulisâs father is famous?â
Apparently, she knew nothing about them.
I hoped that Serulis wouldnât be insulted by this discovery.
I quietly glanced towards her.
âKing Eric aside, daddy isnât as famous as Mister Locke. So I can understand.â
She seemed like she didnât mind.
âBut Eric and Goran are amazing too.â
And so I told Milka about Eric and Goranâs exploits.
And since it was a good opportunity, I exaggerated as much as I could without lying.
It was a bit of revenge for what they had spread about me and my own exploits.
When my passionate speech came to a close, Milka looked at the door.
And her face turned to one of shock.
âOh, itâs the Hero King.â
I turned around to see Eric. Eric was good at erasing his presence, which was very annoying.
âLocke. You better stop right there. Itâs getting a little embarrassingâŠâ
The Hero said as he entered the room, his face bright red.
