It was still holding the stone club as its body fell backward.
âYou worthless bastard!â
And then the part below its chest and the part above its shoulders began to turn into bats.
I was about to attack him with the Devil King Sword,
âCock-a-doodle-dooooooooo!â
Gerberga had been quiet up until now, but he suddenly started to cry.
His voice echoed throughout the ruins.
The parts of the vampire that had been turning into bats were now ashes.
It was the power of the God Fowl.
In seconds, the entire vampire was just a pile of ashes.
I quickly picked up the medal, magic stone and sword.
âLord Gerberga, you saved us.â
Only Lord Gerbergaâs head was sticking out of my breastplate.
Niaâs eyes were widened in surprise.
âTh-thatâs amazing.â
âLord Gerberga is the God Fowl, after all.â
âIâŠheard about it from my sister. But itâs different seeing it in person.â
Lord Gerberga clucked with satisfaction.
Then I turned to them and said,
âYes. But you already defeated the enemy. Do we really need to escape so quicklyâŠâ
âNo. We are heading deeper in.â
Itâs possible that they heard Lord Gerbergaâs cry.
Now I would have to kill all of the vampires in here.
And I couldnât ignore the possibility of there being teleportation magic.
We had to consider the possibility that they could appear at any time.
It was too dangerous to have Nia and Grulf act alone.
âNia. Grulf. Be very, very careful when you move.â
I ran. I was in a hurry, but careful that they didnât fall behind.
A stupid looking goblin started walking towards us.
I cut him down as I dashed.
We continued to run until we reached the end of the ruins. There were two vampires there.
Judging from their appearance, I guessed that they were Arch Vampires.
There was a large mirror between them.
It looked exactly like the mirror with the magic circle that I had seen before.
Maybe the dark ones had a tradition of using mirrors for teleportation.
One of them shouted, and the other one jumped at me.
It was as if they were trying to buy time.
What was the other one trying to do? I keep him in sight.
I parry the attack of the first while watching the other from the corner of my eye.
He was stretching out towards the mirror. Was he trying to escape?
But both of them seemed to be Arch Vampires.
I didnât understand why one would sacrifice himself for the other.
Maybe there was something that they didnât want me to take from them.
I threw the spoils of war that was the sword from our last victim.
It stabbed into the vampireâs right arm. It went all the way up to the handguard.
The force behind it was so strong that the vampire lost his balance as well.
It continued to soar until it penetrated the rock wall behind him. Pinning the vampire like a doll.
The vampire who was attacking me shouted.
He wasnât shouting at me, but the other vampire.
The vampire in the back shouted back. His face was contorted in agony.
They were definitely up to something.
I didnât know what they were trying to do. But I had to stop them regardless.
I grabbed the swinging blade of the vampire with my left hand.
He was clearly not expecting this. His eyes widened in surprise.
I had a magic barrier over my palm.
A mere Arch Vampire was not going to be able to cut through it.
âYouâre in my way.â
I said, before crushing the blade in my hand.
âYouâre the monster.â
I said as I grabbed his neck with my left hand and then activated Drain Touch.
In a flash, I absorbed all the magic and life force. The vampire turned into skin and bones right in front of me.
I threw the shrieking mummy against the wall.
He was dried up and weighed very little.
I didnât know that magic energy and life force had any weight.
Or maybe there was a different reason.
The vampire who was still pinned to the wall let out a fearful cry.
âWhat? You look like youâve seen a ghost.â
I said as I walked towards him.
The vampire finally pulled the sword from his arm and swung at me.
He shouted in desperation. It was the kind of attack you did when you knew it was over.
That was fine. I didnât care either way.
Even if he tried to run, it was easy to deal with.
He shouted loudly as his sword came down.
The large mirror shattered under his attack.
