The cavalry of the Lifelia Kingdom Army fired thrusts with all of their might.

「Seiryaaaah!!」

Even if it was a giant that was twice their size, this attack would pierce its heart. There should have been enough force to do that.

High-pitched metallic sounds resounded.

The tips of the lances that were enchanted with magic were repelled by Argenos’s shell.

A knight opened his eyes wide in astonishment.

「What in the worldddd!?」

『UOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!』

Argenos raised a hand overhead.

In the next moment, this time, a sword appeared from space where there was nothing. It was a large single-edged sword that was longer than a person’s height.

Its size was completely different from the single-edged sword that Aira held, but its shape was pretty much the same.

The steel hand gripped its handle.

It swung it down.

The cavalryman, which was an elite of the Lifelia Kingdom Army, was──

split into two, both the person and the horse.

A massive amount of blood scattered to the ground.

Everytime Argenos swung its single-bladed sword, the cavalry of the Lifelia Kingdom would flutter about in the air, turn into pieces of meat, and have their numbers decrease.

The knights encircled the gigantic enemy, and attempted to attack it from behind.

However, even with their lances that were enchanted with magic, they were unable to make a single scratch on the opponent.

Right before blades could reach the armor, they would be obstructed by an invisible wall, and be repelled.

Argenos’s sword emitted a bluish-white brilliance.

『HAAAAAH!!』

The slashing attack that had overwhelming force even normally, was strengthened even further. Its speed was increased even further. Those that got close would all die.

The battlefield had a pavement made with the corpses of the Lifelia cavalry.

So overwhelming!

When it turned out like that, there was someone that finally reached the location of the battle──he wore full bodied armor that had flame crests engraved into it.

「Doing that to my subordinates……Now you’ve done it, you damned monster……!!」

A general that held a golden halberd in his hand──It was Kuudanis.

He confronted Argenos, which was wet with spurted blood.

The soldiers of the Lifelia Kingdom regained their spirits, and shouted from the top of the ramparts.

「Kuudanis! Kuudanis! Kuudanis!」

As if to compete with them, the soldiers of the Gelmedo Empire also started raising their voices.

「Basute~niya La Airama (May victory be with Airas-sama)! Basute~niya La Airama (May victory be with Airas-sama)!」

The voice of a muttering little girl came spilling out from the steel armor’s chest.

『──You can’t break through the Magimatic Sol’s barrier with your weapons. Like this, it surely can’t be called a “fight”. You should surrender.』

It seemed that Aira wasn’t eaten by the armor, but had equipped this steel armor and was manipulating it.

It was magic that should be feared.

Kuudanis was struck with admiration in his mind.

──So this is sorcery.

Those words that said that there was a hundred year difference, they might not be an exaggeration.

However, Kuudanis didn’t retreat.

He readied his halberd.

「Don’t look down on me, little girl……Our Lifelia Kingdom Army has fought against the Demon King Army countless times. Normal weapons not getting through, is nothing to falter from.」

『A Demon King has appeared in the Gelmedo Empire as well……It wasn’t that much of a threat.』

「Making such a bluff.」

『If you are saying that God is struggling for supremacy against the Demon King, then the Empire’s sorcery might surpass God. I’ve never seen God though.』

「How insolent. That conceited disposition……You should have it beaten into shape in the heavens.」

『To think you would challenge this Magimatic Sol with an antiquated weapon like a halberd……Which one of us is the conceited one.』

Aira breathed a sigh, and cut off her words.

Argenos raised the single-bladed sword overhead.

Kuudanis didn’t change his stance.

The single-bladed sword that was bigger than his height came down on him from overhead.

He caught the blade with the golden halberd.

He’ll be split in two along with the weapon he received it with──that is what both Aira and the Imperial soldiers predicted.

However, with elegant movements that couldn’t be imagined from his brusque appearance, Kuudanis warded off the blade. He didn’t stop with that, and rotated the halberd even more.

Flames gushed out from the tip.

Going from the spinning movement, a sharp thrust was unleashed.

It aimed for Argenos’s sternum.

Once again, it wouldn’t reach the armor and would be repelled by the barrier──he overturned even that prediction.

The golden halberd pierced Argenos’s sternum. The silver shell broke, and fragments scattered about.

Argenos drew back.

『It can’t be, you’re telling me……you pierced the barrier!?』

Kuudanis pulled back his halberd, and once again took his stance.

「Martial Art 《Kaenrasensou (Fire Circle Helix Spear)》──It’s a technique that returns the received attack back just as it was. How does it feel to receive your attack yourself?」

『To think that there would be a technique like that……It is a fact that has surprised me, but failing to bring me down with the surprise attack was your blunder. It’s a technique that can’t be used unless you ward my attack off with that halberd.』

「Hmph……」

The ends of his lips curved.

Just as Aira said, failing to bring her down was a hard blow. The moment his spear pierced through, Argenos pulled back. The thrust ended up being shallow by that much.

Kuudanis discerned that he had misjudged things.

──That was a wonderful reaction……It isn’t just the abilities of that Magimatic Sol or whatever, but the true ability of the little girl inside is also quite considerable.

They glared at each other.

For Aira, she couldn’t make careless attacks. If it were to be warded off with the halberd, she would receive that counterattack once again. Becoming prudent, Argenos stopped moving while having the single-bladed sword at the ready.

Kuudanis commenced an attack.

Waiting when he made her think he would move, moving when he made her think he would wait──He was a fearless fighter that has experienced many battles.

However, Aira had also gone through many experiences. She didn’t make an unsightly reaction like panicking to swing her sword.

She defended against Kuudanis’s attack with her left arm. She aimed for an opening that couldn’t be caught with the halberd.

However, the tip of the halberd emitted a light.

「Martial Art 《Crushing Evil Howling Flash》!!」

Argenos’s shell broke apart.

Its gigantic left arm fell.

『Why!?』

Aira raised a shrill voice for the first time.

Kuudanis gave a broad smile.

「Remember this, little girl! Piercing through absolute defense is just one of the basics! Becoming able to use attacks that will penetrate any and all defenses, then finally entering the numbers as fighting power──That sort of battlefield exists!」

『To get through without even a sorcery vessel……Just which one of us is the monster here.』

「Too slow!!」

A follow-up attack was unleashed.

Argenos took some distance.

Without letting it escape, this time, its flank was gouged.

Silver fragments went flying.

Bright red liquid that looked like blood came spilling out from the place the steel armor was damaged. The smell wasn’t of blood, but of sulphur and oil.

As if to shake off Kuudanis, who was closing in, Argenos made a side slash with the single-edged sword. That single attack, was warded off with the halberd.

「You’re quite sloppy when you’re on the receiving end, aren’t you, little girl!? Your lack of experience in going against strong enemies, is the cause of your defeat.」

The spear of flames made by the 《Kaenrasensou (Fire Circle Helix Spear)》 aimed for Argenos’s chest.

At that moment, an arrow of light came falling from the sky.
