Even though Murong Qingyan had communicated with Xiao Bai in the space for a little while, they had talked about the possibility of Murong Qingyan’s mother being ties of kindred with Chen Xianbin and Chen Wenwen, Murong Qingyan still managed to keep a straight face.

“Excuse me, my name is Si Huang, do I have the honor to know your name, miss?” Si Huang asked Murong Qingyan in a gentle tone, “I know we might have started off on the wrong foot, but I do believe we can still become friends.”

Si Huang’s eyes were sparkling when he talked to Murong Qingyan.

Murong Qingyan on the other hand, didn’t even raise her head when she heard Si Huang’s question, but she replied when everyone thought she was ignoring Si Huang, “I’m Murong.”

“Nice to meet you, Miss. Murong.” Si Huang heaved a sigh of relief when he heard Murong Qingyan’s answer, “Why would a young lady like you show up in a dangerous place like the Gloomy Forest? Please take it easy, I’m not trying to be nosy or anything, it’s just this place is full of peril.”

Murong Qingyan said with indifference, “I’m just here to experience and get toughen up.”

Murong Qingyan couldn’t help but notice Chen Xianbin and Chen Wenwen’s facial expression after she said she was a Murong, the two looked rather shocked when they heard what Murong Qingyan said, but they managed to cover it up pretty quick.

Seeing that, Murong Qingyan was more certain of the theory of them being ties of kindred with her mother, but she was sure they didn’t know much about her mother and her, otherwise surely they could recognize her from the huge birthmark on her face.

“Your family name is Murong?” Chen Wenwen chimed in before Si Huang got a chance to ask more question, “Are you related to the Murong Family in Jialuo Country?”

“Wenwen!” Chen Xianbin caught hold of Chen Wenwen’s sleeve and darted her a warning look, “That’s faux pas.”

But everyone else had noticed how desperate Chen Wenwen was, a touch of confusion flashed across Si Huang’s eyes, but he managed to regain composure right away.

Butler Chen frowned, but he didn’t ask any question.

“Not related at all.” To everyone’s surprise, Murong Qingyan answered Chen Wenwen’s question, “I’m not related to them, but Miss. Chen, why did you ask, are you related to them?”

Well, Murong Qingyan wasn’t lying to Chen Wenwen, she indeed had renounced the Murong Family.

Hearing that, Chen Xianbin and Chen Wenwen both heaved a sigh of relief, and that didn’t escape Murong Qingyan’s notice.

“Wenwen, please behave yourself.” Chen Xianbin on the other hand was pleased to here Si Huang’s suggestion, he smiled at Murong Qingyan and said, “Si Huang is right, Gloomy Forest is a dangerous place, we can keep each other company and fight enemies together now that you’ve only got one travelling friend.”

Murong Qingyan couldn’t help but roll her eyes on hearing those hypocritical remarks, ‘Indeed I’ve only got Huangfu Jue to travel with me, but he is stronger than an entire army, don’t act like you are doing this as a favor to me, you want Huangfu Jue’s help if anything.’

“Travelling together?” Murong Qingyan repeated this question and then she pretended she needed to think this over, “That’s a really good suggestion, it’s just I don’t know what you and your friends are doing here in Gloomy Forest, if you intend to go to those dangerous spots, I’m afraid I cannot join you.”

Hearing that, Chen Xianbin and Si Huang exchanged a look, of course they didn’t bring this up because of what they said, they just wanted to use Huangfu Jue’s strength for their secret mission.

The four of them were in the Gloomy Forest to look for a family heirloom that somehow was brought in this forest.

The elders in Chen Family told them exact the spot where the family heirloom was hidden, but the monster that guarded the treasure was too strong for them. That was why they suggested travelling together in the first place, they wanted to use Huangfu Jue’s strength to get the treasure.

“No, we are not.” Chen Xianbin smiled, “But I do need to be complete honest with you, we are here to get a family heirloom that somehow ends up being in this forest, it’s very valuable in our family.”

“Of course we are hoping to get you and your friend help on getting it back, but please rest assured, we will reward you as long as we get it back.”
