“Duke. It seems to me that you have a lot of dissatisfaction, but is it my fault?”
Duke Croft faced the emperor straight forward.
“No, it’s not Your Majesty’s mistake.”
“Your Empress is very sick now. It is because of His Majesty.”
Raymond’s face was irritated when he said it was because of himself.
“What do you mean it’s because of me?”
“The rumors of His Majesty’s child, which Lizzena had brought, have already spread throughout the whole empire. Did you think the Empress would have nothing to do with it?” 1
I answered Helan’s question right away because I was already up. Hellan looked at me sitting on the bed and came up with a quick walk.
“Your Majesty, how are you feeling?”
“It’s all right. I guess it was just a slight ache. Don’t worry.”
“I’m glad to hear that. Your Majesty, I’ll be right back to wash your face.”
“Yeah, and I’m going to have to dress up. I’m going to see my Majesty right away.”
When she said she was going to see her Majesty, she felt embarrassment on her face. Just like as if she were hiding something from me.
I noticed it and asked the head maid.
“What’s wrong? What’s going on?”
“No, no. It’s just… you’re not feeling well, but you’re moving too much, and you’re already attempting to go somewhere.”
“Really? Is there really nothing going on?”
Helan, bowed her head to me with an expression she had always had.
I started to wash my face, dismissing it as being too sensitive.
“Your Majesty, do you want these sapphire earrings?”
After washing my face, I was seen having earrings prepared by a maid.
The earrings with sparkling blue sapphires were one of the remnants sent to me by the imperial family when I married him.
It was also something that I was very fond of.
I shook my head while looking at it.
“No. Earrings will not do.”
Most of the jewels I have were gifts, so I have to throw away all of them.
The maids seemed embarrassed for me not to wear earrings, which was one of the basic decorations, but hurried over my skirt without complaining.
When she got up from her seat to go to the Sun Palace after finishing all the decorations, a maid came into the room.
“Your Majesty, His Majesty, The Emperor has come.”

Now All I want to say is that I’ve been reading some very conflicting answers and opinions of the characters, Whether your on Ellie’s or Raymond’s side, I have found one beautiful written opinion that fits both of them, you don’t have to read it obviously, But I suggest that you please read it so you get a whole idea of their perspectives and not to judge them right away!
I feel I’m carrying over a bit of my fury from IDWTBL. (I don’t want to be loved) Though how I feel about Rhiannon and Ellie’s situations are different.
I don’t think FL’s insecurities are unreasonable and I don’t think the problem is from her lack of communication. Her biggest insecurity that he doesn’t love her and thinks of her as an obligation is perfectly understandable given the circumstances. He told her various times in the past he had loved Liz and when he failed to get Liz and settled for her he told her that he may not be able to give her love. That stops her from asking for understanding, comfort and affection. Why ask if he gave the answer from the start and appears to be getting progressively colder. She understands him to be a faithful man (As someone who has known and has been close to him a long time) because of his promise to her which would hurt more because she knows that he loved Liz and given his faithful probably still does. Logical conclusion jump.
I can’t believe that ML can understand that the illegitimate child would hurt FL because of her horrifying miscarriage but can’t understand his coldness/distancing is hurting her even more. He should know better than anyone that having someone reach out when you’re hurt is extremely comforting because of what Liz did for him years ago. He even recognizes that he forgot to think about her condition when she’s absent and that she’s sad but immediately three seconds later thinks that now is a good moment to convince her to recognize and adopt his illegitimate son. Surely he isn’t so much of an idiot he doesn’t realize FL at least likes him even if he doesn’t think it’s love right? Probably not. Shiet…. He doesn’t have as much of an excuse as Igor to be so distant from FL too because they were friends on good terms prior to marriage.
The author can bend this however they want but I think no matter how the story unfolds I feel like the ML is more at fault than FL’s crippling insecurities as of this moment in time.
