‘And that’s it.’
“I’m still not satisfied!!”
It was after I left Kami-sama’s room without cross-examining him yet again.
I was sitting at the corner of the dining hall, grumbling nonsense while holding a cup of thin, odorless tea.
“Am I being deceived?! Or is he really unaware about it?!”
I drank the tasteless tea in one gulp before slamming the cup down on the table. The clinking sound resounded inside the hall.
It was evening. The evening meal was already over, and the dining hall was deserted.
A few guests eating their late evening meals were startled when I raised my voice, and they turned to look at me.
However, I didn’t care for whatever they thought.
I could no longer bear mulling over these agonizing thoughts and keeping it to myself, so I spit it out.
:”Maybe I’m being too paranoid?! But I can hear footsteps — N, No! Wait, it’s not like I saw his appearance per se, now that I think about it! Perhaps he didn’t look like a human…!?”
I answered my own questions.
Really, when I think about it carefully, notwithstanding the footsteps sounded like they were made by a pair of feet, I wasn’t really sure whether he has the same appearance as that of a human.
Even if his feet are two, there is a chance that he has 5 or 6 arms, or maybe 3 to 4 heads.
“T-then maybe he’s trying to hide that..!?”
That’s why he doesn’t want me to see what he looks like!
If this was the closest theory to the truth, then — I hastily turn up in reaction, and the two faces staring at me came to view.
The two girls seated across the table silently stared at me — they were Rozalie’s previous followers, Marie and Sofie.
“…So, is that what you wanted to consult us about?”
The one who whispered was Sofie, the shorter and a bit roundish of the two.
She added a lot of sugar to the tea as if to mask its tastelessness, before glancing at Marie beside her.
“Suddenly saying “I have something important to say!” with a serious face…I thought something really did happen, but…”
The one who grumbled like she was totally fed up was Marie, the taller and slender one of the two.
She didn’t even bother picking the teacup. She shook her head once then turned to face Sofie.
They stared at each for a few moments.
Then both of them sighed — as if exasperated from the bottom of their hearts.
“I totally don’t care.” “Wait a sec, are you bragging? That you can be with your own deity, is that it?”
Those two uttered merciless words, making me scrunch my brows deeper.
Cold silence filled the dining hall.
Hmm, as I thought, I made a mistake with the choice of confidant, huh.
Really, I knew I should have talked to Lydianne honestly, instead.
