I made up some kind of story so that I can borrow men’s clothes from the priests, and when Mari and Sofie came to the dining hall, I got some food from them, readied myself, and finally stopped in front of Kami-sama’s room.
With the door right in front, I heaved a deep sigh to calm myself.
Okay, here we go, gonna face that buck naked — er Kami-sama from here on.
‘Alright! Okay, I got this, let’s go!!’
Braising myself, I gingerly grasped the door knob, before pushing it open —
The chilling aura permeating the room took my breath away.
The nude Kami-sama I was expecting wasn’t there.
Instead, I found him sitting on the sofa, clad in a white robe that was far more superior than the one I borrowed for him.
Adoracion-sama and Lufure-sama sat on the only two chairs inside the room.
A gentle breeze blew from the open window, and a climbing rose that wasn’t there in the morning covered the windowsill.
Not sure where it came from, but a cat was curled up on top of the bed, and a bird I’ve never seen before was perched on the edge of the table.
They must’ve been talking before I barged in.
Everyone shut up the moment I opened the door — and all of them had their eyes trained on me now.
‘W-What….!?’
A chill ran down my spine as I sensed the unfathomability of the countless eyes gazing at me.
Not to mention Adoracion-sama and Lufure-sama, even the cat and bird’s stares made my skin crawl.
The air in the room had become terrifyingly clear, but suffocating at the same time.
I could keenly feel my body tremble from the intimidating sensation — this overpowering divine atmosphere — I was really in the presence of deities, no mistake about it.
‘It’s not only Lufure-sama and Adoracion-sama…?’
That’s when I recalled Mari and Sofie’s deities, the gentle breeze and the climbing rose.
In that case, the cat and the bird must be deities in another form, too.
Wait, maybe there are other deities I can’t see….
‘But what are these deities doing inside Kami-sama’s room!?’
“…So it’s you.”
The first one to call out to me as I stood rooted on the spot was Lufure-sama.
He vigorously scratched his head, as if to break the stifling atmosphere.
“She’s here, so we will return… Well, I don’t think there’s anything we can do even if we talk about it.”
Lufure-sama bitterly said those words as he jumped down from the chair.
He then shook his head, as if fed up, before heading towards the door.
“The rest will be up to the humans. We can’t even predict what will happen next after this! — Really, you’re such a handful.”
The last words were directed at me as he passed by me.
I subconsciously whirled around to look at Lufure-sama, and his piercing stare met my eyes, enough to leave me in a fluster.
It was different from his usual playful and naughty demeanor; it was the expression of a true deity, startling me.
“It’ll probably get a little rowdy from here on. Watch your back.”
“…Rowdy? Lufure-sama, what do you —”

"
Mean? — I was about to ask, but he vigorously scratched his head again.
He then heaved a sigh, as if to fix his mood — the earlier aura of a deity I sensed from him disappeared.
“But what the heck is Soiree doing at a time like this!? Don’t tell me she’s chasing after that human guy again!?”
He spat a complaint before briskly striding out of the room before I could even stop him.
I turned back, and the cat and bird were gone too.
The gentle breeze had stopped, and the vine rose on the windowsill withered. Adoracion-sama bowed, before vanishing on the spot.
The deities were gone.
There should be only one remaining in this deserted room.
And yet —
My eyes were drawn to Kami-sama, who still had the appearance of a human, sitting on the sofa.
He noticed my gaze. Kami-sama then stood up, and he crinkled his eyes.
The terrifyingly austere beauty softened with a gentle smile, and he also appeared as if he had his heads in the clouds, but…
“Welcome back, Eleanor-san.”
I just stood there, unable to answer.
The stiflingly heavy, divine atmosphere that filled the room didn’t disappear.
It was suffocating.
