An Lin hummed joyously to himself as he rode on Da Bai’s back toward the university.
Within the familiar schoolyard, there was a familiar environment as well as a familiar acquaintance.
In the Jade Water Area of the third-year campus, An Lin encountered one of those familiar acquaintances.
“Hey! An Lin, long time no see!” A man with skin as dark as coal and dark red lips walked up to An Lin with an enthusiastic greeting.
An Lin grimaced as he sized up the man in front him, only managing to force out a sentence in response after a long while. “Liu Dabao, did you get another f*cking tan?!”
Liu Dabao grasped both of An Lin’s hands in his with excitement written all over his face. “An Lin, you’re the first person to have recognized me!”
“Well… I actually figured out who you were from your voice,” An Lin replied solemnly.
Liu Dabao: “…”
An Lin was being quite honest here. Liu Dabao was so black that he couldn’t even discern his facial features.
Recognize him from his appearance alone? What a joke!
Liu Dabao seemed to have already grown accustomed to this and soon recovered with a smile. “Your brother may be black now, but I have reaped rewards for my sacrifice. After absorbing the essence of the sun in the East Sea during this holiday period, I’ve tasted initial success cultivating my Divine Sun Technique! An Lin nodded and lamented, “Yeah, I encountered a lot of troubles there. It was hard enough killing six Demon Emperors, then a Holy Demon popped up outta nowhere. It was like a relentless stream of powerful enemies, I almost died there.”
Liu Dabao almost passed out from his words. “Holy sh*t! You killed six of the seven Demon Emperors?!”
“Yeah, one of them conceded to me, but it, unfortunately, died during the battle with the Holy Demon.” A wistful expression appeared on An Lin’s face as he shook his head.
Liu Dabao was completely dumbfounded.
Killing six Demon Emperors? Forcing a Demon Emperor into submission? And what was that about the bad-ass-sounding Holy Demon?
What the f*ck! What kind of f*cking holiday was this? This sounded more like a Seven Demons Realm extermination trip!
Liu Dabao’s lips twitched as he stared at An Lin, completely at a loss for words.
There was simply too much of a disparity between how they spent their holidays. While he was busy getting a tan, An Lin was already saving the world.
“Classmate An Lin, you truly have the best interests of the world at heart. You’ve even sacrificed your holiday period to make the world a better place…” Liu Dabao finally forced out a sentence after a long period of silence.
“Heheh, it’s no biggie, not even worth talking about, really.” An Lin smiled and waved his hand in a humble gesture.
Liu Dabao almost vomited blood at his words. Why the f*ck would you mention it if it wasn’t worth talking about! And what was this smug expression on his face? He was definitely flexing on purpose!
“Dabao, I’m not flexing here, but I didn’t just battle all types of sea monsters during my trip to the East Sea, I also have a romantic encounter too! Have you heard of the Dragon Princess and Princess Yin Yu of the Dragon Court? It’s fine if you haven’t heard of them, I can tell you all about them…”
Liu Dabao’s charcoal face grew even darker. It was clearly a bright, sunny day, but why was he feeling so dejected? He felt like he had spent most of the day listening to An Lin flex.

“Haha, Big Brother Cheng, congratulations on successfully coming out of seclusion!” An Lin greeted him with a smile.
The fact that Big Brother Cheng was here and not in seclusion meant that he had broken through to Spirit Nurturing Final Stage; this was indeed worthy of celebration!
Xuanyuan Cheng chuckled lightly and shook his head. “This is not worthy of congratulations. It was due to my own laziness that I had to work so hard to catch up to the others.”
He then offered up words of encouragement to An Lin. “An Lin, if you work a bit harder, you might be able to break through to Spirit Nurturing Intermediate Stage soon.”
An Lin scratched his head. “Well actually… I already broke through to Spirit Nurturing Intermediate Stage before the holidays.”
Xuanyuan Cheng was slightly taken aback by his words before recovering his composure and exclaiming in surprise. “Classmate An Lin, you sure are impressive! At this rate, you’ll be able to advance to Spirit Nurturing Final Stage in no time!”
“Uh… I’m actually already Spirit Nurturing Final Stage.” An Lin smiled sheepishly.
Xuanyuan Cheng’s smile immediately froze solid on his face. “Ha?”
“You see, I had some interesting experiences during the holiday period which enabled me to break through to Spirit Nurturing Final Stage,” An Lin continued.
Xuanyuan Cheng’s face twitched at his words.
What the f*ck! What kind of “interesting experiences” would allow someone to break through two whole ranks in less than a month!?
He worked himself to death for the entirety of the holiday before he finally broke through from the pinnacle of Spirit Nurturing Intermediate Stage to Spirit Nurturing Final Stage. In contrast, An Lin was able to break through from Spirit Nurturing Initial Stage straight to Spirit Nurturing Final Stage in one holiday period?
Both of them had letters of recommendation from a True God, but why was there such a massive disparity between them?

Why am I comparing myself to such freak? An Lin was able to kill a mighty figure at the pinnacle of Return to Void Stage when he was at Dao Body Stage. To draw comparisons to him was simply stupid!
Xuanyuan Cheng was instantly relieved of all his negative emotions, and he patted An Lin’s shoulder with a warm smile. “Congratulations, Classmate An Lin, your progress is astounding!”

An Lin was extremely disappointed.
