KT44p1: Fallen Capital

“Miki-san, we will arrive at the rendezvous point soon, Ursna Troops arrived in there earlier than planned”
“Yes. It seems we are the last one”
I was looking into the town that is projected to the screen which serve as our rendezvous point as I put down the tea cup that I am holding. I could see that the forces of Ursna and Noah troops set up tents and are stationed at the outer edge of the town.
However, the number of Ursna Troops are low. Perhaps it was because they were ambushed during the first battle as mentioned in the reports.
“Bring the ship close to the tent of Noah troops. We will begin a strategy meeting and will proceed in capturing the capital”
“Roger”
Upon stopping the ship near the tent, we started to prepare tea. Shuichi-san and her majesty Victoria entered the CIC of Alice. I had something I’d like to ask her majesty so it was such a perfect timing.
“Shuichi-san, job well done. It seems you have a pretty tough battle”
“Aa~ That situation might have gotten worse if the Dragon race did not come as reinforcements. There were damage to my troops but the Ursna Troops led by her majesty is in a state of total annihilation. Once we capture the capital, they will need to withdraw from the battlefield”
“Mine own sincere apologies”
Her majesty apologize while lowering her head, but it is a situation that cannot be helped. They still have enough strength to maintain security so I will have them cooperate in that role.

“……Ghoul is naught a weapon. Tis a plague caused by a curse. Art they trying to destroy their own country?”
We listen to the explanation of her majesty who is uncomfortable about it. Everyone in the CIC were frozen in shock as we listen to her majesty who continue her explanation. First of all, “Ghoul” is a type of monster that doesn’t have any intelligence and will only act to eat their food but… the problem is their ‘food’. The Ghoul will attack anything that moves, including animals. Once bitten by a ghoul, the prey themselves will become ghoul which cause for the ‘infection’ to spread.
“Is there a cure?”
“None. Thee can only kill them or hide till they die of hunger”
As I listen to her majesty’s explanation, I can feel may anger welling up due to the foolishness of the Union. There are nations who deploys biological weapons in our world too but no one is foolish enough in using them until a cure is developed. If a ghoul is released, the damage will expand drastically as it spread the infection… and on this continent, which is currently confused due to war means that this continent would lack the capacity to organize a containment strategy.
“This situation, I wonder what will Kouki do if he hear about this…”
“What did I do?”
I was surprised when I suddenly heard a voice from the back. When I turn around, I saw Kouki staring at me while his head was tilted and Kon-chan was on his head. This is bad─ If he heard what we discussed earlier, he will kill everyone in the Union using his full power. The other CIC personnel might have the same idea as me since they are frozen and just looking at him.
“Ko-chan, since when were you listening?”
“From the beginning. More than that, what should we do?”
Kouki began thinking while putting his forefinger into his chin. I signalled Shuichi-san using my eyes. Shuichi-san understood my intention and move to the back of Kouki so that he can seize him at any time. With this, we can resolve everything by confining him in this room even in cases where he will said “Prepare my power suit, I will kill all of them”.
While thinking about such things, Kouki opened her mouth after using his terminal to check something.
“Victoria-san, the weak point of a Ghoul is its head right?”
“Thee knoweth well. Indeed. Ghoul weak point is their head”
“Claire-san, please bring me a map of the area around Rinkudorubu Empire. A satellite image would be good if possible”
“Roger”
I was surprised when he started to naturally give out orders as if he is used to it. After giving out his order, he face me and asked with a serious face.
“Mom, how fast can you make a thermonuclear weapon?”
“Impossible. Since it is banned by treaty, even if I return to Hakone base, there are not enough material”
“Seriously? It is standard practice for Biohazard and Pandemic events like this to be burned away using nuclear weapons… This will be tough”
What in the world is my son saying? Standard Practice? Nuclear Weapons? I am also wondering why he knows that the ‘head’ is the Ghoul’s weak point. In retrospect, this child also knew a lot of details on the sandworms and elves. Did he bring back a relic from the moon ruins without my knowledge. When I was wondering about my son’s behaviour, I saw Claire-san brought a satellite image map and spread it on the desk.
“Kakka, I have kept you waiting. Here is the satellite image map that you requested”
“Thank you very much. Also, please confirm the data that I have sent to the terminals of everyone”
I check my terminal due the words of Kouki, I surely received a mail. I open it and check the contents. As I read the contents, there is a full detail of strategies, tactics, weapons and many more which are effective against ghouls. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a solution for the situation. Although the content itself is great, the title of the file is… a little bit of a problem.
“Kou-chan, I will not ask you on how you can provide such detailed instructions without experiments and exercises… but… why is the title ‘What to do if mom creates a zombie virus ~ Part 3’? what does that mean?”
I’m wondering what kind of person I am in the eyes of Kouki. Let’s talk to Alice-chan one time, she is such a gentle girl and will surely correct my image on Kouki─

“Kou-chan, I will not ask you on how you can provide such detail instructions without experiments and exercises… but… why is the title ‘What to do if mom creates a zombie virus ~ Part 3’? what does that mean?”
Even if you ask me what it means, the title exactly say what it is. I’m pretty sure mom will someday make a “zombie virus”. Moreover, virus is always spread accidentally during research. When that emergency situation happens, we will be able to handle it by using this manual. I actually half jokingly made this manual, but looks like we will actually use it for the first time.
“Kouki, what is this ‘zombie’? Is it a code name or something?”
Macho, who was silently reading the data, asked me a question. I think it is impossible to understand the concept of zombies using his muscle brain so I will properly teach him about it.
“Yes. I call it a ‘Zombie Virus’ if an infectious virus can mutate a body and I call any creature infected by the virus as ‘Zombies'”
“Kakka, this file says Part 3 but… could it be there are more of this files?”
“Of course there are. There are a total of 27 parts considering all possible situations”
Claire-san was lost for words while looking at me. Fufu, I am not someone who waste time after getting reincarnated. I might not be a great genius like my mom or have military talents like macho but I have used my past life knowledge to prepare for this kind of situations. Looks like this will be the first time that I will be of use to mom?
By the way, I think barricading yourself in supermarkets during zombie apocalypse is foolish. The best place to stay are home centers. There will be weapons and tools that you can use to barricade such as sandbags. There are also food for you to survive like cup noodles or in worst case, dog food.
“Even so, this is really specific. I understand the one with ‘Do not check strange sounds alone’ but why ‘Never use helicopters to escape’?”
“Because it will crash”
Macho is confused in my reply. However, any helicopter which is used when escaping always crash. Even if there is no clear reason, it is forbidden to use them because they will always somehow crash due to engine trouble caused by unknown reason.
I’ve also written “You should pay close attention when you enter tunnels” and “There should always be one person in the group who is looking at the back” but I guess I should check these things with macho who is more familiar with this kind of behavior however, our priority right now is capturing the Imperial Capital which is located 100 km away from here. As long as that is not achieve, I cannot do anything else.
“Ma~ let’s decide on zombie countermeasures later. For now, we need to quickly capture the capital”
“‘Quickly’ you say but Kou-chan… Did you know that the Imperial Army have set up sturdy defenses to protect the capital?” It will not be that easy”
“Do not worry. If my strategy works, nobody will be hurt and we will be able to capture the Imperial Capital quickly but I will need the cooperation of everyone. It’s like this─” (TN: The raw is あのね which is ‘ano ne’. There is no specific English for this one, so I chose something which will make more sense in this sentence)
Putting aside the doubt of my mom, I told everyone in CIC the strategy that I thought of last night. At first, they are listening with a face as if listening to something stupid but as I talk more on the details, a smile from everyone appeared on their face.
“Kouki, you are a really outrageous guy but it will be quite interesting if you succeed”
“Very well. I shall change mine own dress. I shall also prepare one for Ririn”
It was decided that the strategy is officially accepted once I got the approval of Victoria-san who is one of the leaders and the chief executive of Noah’s military department. The only problem is if I can keep my nerve until the strategy is completed. Everyone in the Alliance will pay attention on my every move. I should not embarrass myself in this mission.
I asked Claire-san to pour more coffee─  I decided to go to the toilet so that I won’t leak due to nervousness during the operation.
