How come I could say all those things to Rofas-san when I couldnât even get the words out for my husband?
ăBut they were so good, I couldnât help myself!ă
Rofas-san scratched his head.
ăNo buts! Thereâs the problem with the fact that those were Bryce-kunâs bread, but you also ate the food while it was still being prepared! Havenât you ever been told not to do that? If youâre going to have such bad manners, Iâll stop making food for you!ă
Oh? Oh dear? What I just said made me sound incredibly conceited.
ăUwah, Iâm sorry, please forgive me, um, Bryce, Iâm sorry. Iâll apologize to you. Yuuri, I wonât snatch the food like that again. Ah, if I get the urge to do it, Iâll tell you that I want to eat, okay? Also, um, well, Iâll get more boars for you!ă
ăPft.ă
I understand now. Rofas-san acts like a child when it comes to food. Since he was acting like a growing child with a big appetite, IâŚ
I accidentally spoke to him like he was a child.
ăOkay, please do that starting from next time. Now, bring me some bread so I can make the bento!ă
ăRight away!ă
Rofas-san ran over to the vending machine.
Huh? Now that I think about it, I thought Rofas-san didnât carry around any beginner grade potions.
ăHere, this is Kirikaâs.ă
ăThis oneâs mine!ă
Eh?
Kirika-chan and Kurtz-kun brought some bread over to me.
Since only the two of them will be left in the hut starting today, I was planning to make their lunch later, butâŚ
Kirika-chan and Kurtz-kun stared at me.
ăDo you want to try toasted bread?ă
They both nodded.
Of course Iâll at least make toast for them!
Right away! Wait for me!
Oh, no, I canât do this. I almost gave in to their cute expressions.
I canât, I canât.
ăWell, Iâll make them for you later. You both made yaki-onigiri already, right? Since you already made them, you shouldnât eat yourselves full of bread before eating them.ă
ăOkay.ă
ăWeâll wait until lunch time.ă
Wait⌠M-mm, Iâm sorry for making you two wait. I felt dejected.
Geez! How come the young children could hold back, yet Rofas-san was standing there looking stunned with both hands filled with bread?
ăIf youâre going to have such bad manners, Iâll stop making food for you!ă
He finally stopped acting like that once I said that.
Yet, he was carrying a lot of bread. Apparently it was because he only had high-grade potions, so one potion got him that much.
When I told him to only bring the amount heâll eat for his bento, he went back to the vending machine and returned some.
Now that I think about it, the one who refills the vending machine was Rofas-san⌠Even so, Rofas-san buys things with potions.
As I thought about it, I sliced the bread, toasted them, stacked lettuce and dried kakuni on top of one slice, and finished it with another.
Bryce-kun gave me three, while Rofas-san gave me eight pieces of bread. In total, I made twenty-two sandwiches.
With the edges that I removed off of the bread, I toasted them for longer, turning them into a crunchy and crispy state, like rusk. Then, I spread the jam I made yesterday with cola.
Fufufu. This is a spiced jam made from cola and silverberries.
I was very surprised at how tasty it was.
The bitterness of the silverberries pretty much went away after cooking them, and the cola sweetened the flavor.
I had always been curious about spiced jam.
I read the recipe so many times I memorized it. Cardamom, cinnamon, cloves⌠Since the ingredients were pretty much the same as cola, I figured that it would be fine to substitute those spices with just cola.
As for why I never tried making them back in Japan, it was because cardamom was expensive. It was too much for me to buy just so I could use them to satisfy my curiosity.
I thought that my husband would say that I was wasting money, and so I never bought any.
The MP potions tasted like cola, but since the flavors of the spices were rather strong, I saw my chance!
It wasnât a big dream of mine, but still, I never expected that I would be able to make the spiced jam Iâve always wanted to make in another world.
Since cola has vanilla in it, I figured that the taste would be different than the spiced jam that I knew of, butâŚ
I was speechless when I tasted the spiced jam I made yesterday.
It was delicious!
Iâm sure there would be a clear divide between people who like it and people who donât.
People who like cinnamon sugar would like it, since it tasted similar to a cinnamon sugar jam. It has a strong fragrance of spice, and itâs sweet. How should I put itâŚ
I wanted to try the rusk sandwich filled with spiced jam, but I have to hold back.
