「Rofas-san, can you put the boar onto the table?」
「We haven’t skinned it yet though, is that okay?」
I nodded.
「Also, I need a lot of hot water.」
「I’ll make it for you.」
Bryce-kun offered to get me hot water by using his magic, but I declined. That’s a very useful skill though.
「I want to be able to do things with only me, Kirika-chan, and Kurtz-kun. What should we do? I guess we’ll have to boil water at the stove and bring it over…」
Bringing over a pot of hot water seems quite difficult. If we pour it into a bucket and… ah, here we go.
There was a large wooden bucket next to the table with the boar on it.
「What? You want hot water? Use this instead.」
Rofas-san dug through his pocket for something, and then threw it towards me.
「Uwah!」
Please don’t throw things at me! I have slow reflexes!

Or at least, I tried to, but whatever it was fell to the ground instead. Uweh… He even threw another one at me.
I picked up the two colored stones that fell.
「A fire magic stone?」
One of them was a fire magic stone, which I was familiar with. The other one was blue though.
「You use it like this.」
Rofas-san took the blue stone from my hand.
「Fill the bucket with water.」
He said towards the stone, then placed it into the bucket.
Water began pouring out from the blue stone before my eyes, and the bucket filled up to the brim with water.
「That’s a water magic stone. Once you fill the bucket, you just need to throw the fire magic stone in. Tell it to boil the water.」
Uwah, amazing! That’s incredibly useful!
「Um, warm the bucket of water to sixty-three degrees.」
I said, then threw the fire magic stone into the bucket.
「Eh? Sixty-three degrees? What does that mean?」
Kurtz-kun, who suddenly showed up next to me, asked.

Do they not have the concept of temperature in this world?
「Um, I’m not trying to get the water to boil. I’m trying to make it so that it’s too hot to touch but warm enough to drink?」
「I see. Yuuri-san, your hometown uses the term sixty-three degrees to describe that state, how useful.」
Bryce-kun nodded.
「Okay, the hot water’s done. What do you need to do after?」
Ah, that’s right!
「We’re going to peel off the skin while pouring the hot water over the boar!」
I can’t see the entire boar. My gaze collected at my hands, then the hot water and the ladle. I poured the hot water over the brown fur, roughly at where the stomach was supposed to be.
…Ugh.

「You just peel the area where the hot water was poured onto, right?」
Rofas-san put his knife against the fur.
I can’t do it anymore.
「Yuuri-oneechan, are you okay? Kirika will pour the hot water for you!」
Kirika-chan took the ladle from me and began pouring hot water.
「Oh? Hey, Bryce, come try it yourself. Kurtz, you too.」
Rofas-san waved for the two of them to come over. I could see Bryce-kun and Kurtz-kun walk around from the corner of my eyes.
「Eh?」
I heard Bryce-kun’s voice.
「Right? It’s so much easier to peel now.」
Rofas-san said. I sighed in relief.
I’m glad that it worked, even though that was just some information that I had heard about once. At least it wasn’t wrong.
「Uwah, it really is. I can probably do this by myself.」
I heard Kurtz-kun say next.
「Kirika is helping too! Okay, Kirika is pouring more hot water now~」
I heard Kirika-chan’s voice too.
I was the only one not doing anything. I’m sorry. I closed my eyes shut, so I can’t see anything.
I feel sick. I might throw up again.
I just can’t get used to this. As the oldest in the group, I can’t leave the handling of the animals to the children forever.
