Chapter 52: The beginning of change (2) (unedited)
I didnât like alcohol that much. But when I stressed out I couldnât help but drank it. It was like the sentiment of an office worker. So as soon as I returned to Heilonâs mansion from the banquet, I picked a bottle.
âLetâs drink.â
Because the prince was annoying.
Of course, I couldnât grab anyone and ask them to drink together this night, so I planned to have a drink alone in my room.
There was a lot of good quality alcohol in Heilon Mansion. Among them, the one I brought was fruit wine.
âSweet.â
It was definitely a delicious wine, and I felt like I was going to get hooked if I drank more. Well, it was fine. I was in my room, so it wonât a big deal if I got drunk and fell over.
Then, someone knocked on my room.
âFiona, are you there?â
I opened the door right away when I heard it was SIgrenâs voice.
Sigren looked at me for a moment and frown slightly. âAre you drunk?â
Drunk he said. It was just a drink to relieve my thirst.
A smirk appeared on my face. âI just started now.â
ââŚ.â
Although the wine was delicious, it was still boring to drink alone. So it was better to have a drinking buddy.
âCome in, letâs drink together, itâs been a long time.â
Sigren opened his mouth about to say something but closed it again as I pulled his wrist. Then he walked in quietly.
I took him to the chair across from me. But I paused for a moment.
âWhatâs happened to your tie?â
The shirt and tie around Sigrenâs neck were crumpled up.
âDid you have a fight and someone hold your neck?â I said it in a joking tone.
âItâs similar.â
âReally?â
How could someone grab him by the collar on the first day of his social debut? Also, he was not that kind of kidâŚ. Right?
âWho?â
âNot a big deal.â
Saying so, Sigren stretched out his hand to untie his tie in an awkward way, but he suddenly stopped and looked at me.
âFiona, I couldnât see the the knot well. Iâm sorry, could you help me untie this?â
Then Sigren bent his waist slightly as if trying to match my height. I subconsciously reached out and untie his tie. From a young age, Sigren hated something tightening around his neck. Therefore, any clothes or ties that tighten around his neck were never done except when necessary.
ââŚ.â
The rustling sound of clothes was particularly loud in the quiet room. And it was somehow oddly awkward. Even more, while I untied Sigrenâs tie, he was fiddling with my hair.
âItâs done.â
I roughly threw the tie on the bed.
âLetâs drink now.â
I poured alcohol into Sigrenâs glass.
âCheers!â
Clink.
I bumped my glass with his glass and drank it at once. However, unlike me, SIgren only touched the glass on his lips, then put his glass down.
âDrink slowly, why are you acting like a drinker when youâre not even one.â
Unfortunately, there was no one-shot culture in this world. In this world, if someone was drinking in a cheerful way like me, it was called a person who drank a lot of alcohol.
âIâm not that weak though. Youâre not drinking? This is good.â
âYeah, when youâre drunk you fall, and someone must pick you up,â Sigren replied nonchalantly.
âNo way.â
Was I like that when I got drunk?
âYou fell over when the last time you were drunk. Donât you remember?â
Ah, it was probably at Heilonâs new Year party last year. I was so drunk at that time. But I didnât really remember I fell head over heels. The only thing I remembered was I suddenly woke up on my bed with a lump on my head.
âWould it have happened again?â I drank the second glass while saying that. Because I drank it in a hurry, now I was already feeling a bit tipsy. Well, it seemed I couldnât deny my alcohol tolerant was not that great. But, it was not too weak either. It was medium level. âArenât you bored just seeing me drinking?â
âNope. seeing the change in your expression is not boring at all. Now your face all red.â
âReally?â
There was a lot of nagging everytime Sigren saw me, but right now his face was like someone who would just put up with everything he saw. It seemed like rather than having a drink with me, he just wanted to sit in front of me to dry my drinking spirit. Well, though, another big reason he didnât drink was he also wasnât a big fan of alcohol.
I looked at him for a moment. âSigren, how was the banquet?â
âNot that great.â
I wanted to asked âhave you met Eunice?â, but that question seemed like too explicit.
âI heard there is a kid who is praised as a saint. Did you meet her?â
âNo.â
Why didnât he meet her?
âCome to think of it, I didnât see you in the hall. What did you..?â
I stopped right away. There was no need to continue that question. He said earlier that someone grabbed his collar and had a fight. So I changed the question.
âWho did you fight?â
âThis time, Sigren responded smoothly. âThe crown prince.â
âReally?â
Though in honesty, I didnât like him, still, he was Sigrenâs older brother, was it okay?
âWhy did you fight?â
âHeâs more annoying that I thought.â
I nodded my head. âThatâs true. I also really dont like him.â
When I remembered the incident, I got annoyed again. I inhaled heavily, then drank another glass.
Sigrenâs eyebrows frowned. âWhat did he do to you?â
âNo. itâs not like that. He was trying to hit on a noble lady.â
âDonât go near him.â
âI will. Honestly, I even hope I never bump into him again.â
As I kept drinking while talking, I got really drunk. I regretted now being so confident and saying âiâm not that weakâ in front of Sigren earlier.
âSigren, you have two faces.â
âI see youâre drunk.â
âEven if you have two faces, two handsome faces float around? Not strange at all.â
I lifted my thumb while mumbling nonsense. Then finally I lied my head down on the table.
âHaaa..â
Before I lost my consciousness, I heard Sigren sighing, while looking at my pathetic condition.
