“What nonsense are you talking about again?”
Erina leaned her head against his shoulder as he glanced at her in bewilderment.
“Still, it’s comfortable.”
His body hardened again by itself. Before Erina’s next word, which is just a small murmur, leaks out.
“My private shuttle servant.”
Erina grinned and poked him in the cheek with one finger.
“What’s so pretty about you now? I’m carrying you.”
As he chewed her on like that, he gave her his shoulder so that she could lean more comfortably.
Erina struggled with her legs as he hurried out of the annex of the banquet hall and into the main building.
“I feel like throwing up.”
Cardan grumbled and let Erina go to the bushes.
She looked up at him with pitiful eyes after she tried to vomit a few times.
“It’s not coming out. Give me a pat on the back.”
“You’re really all over the place.”
As he grumbled again, Cardan grabbed Erina’s long hair, gathered it behind her back, and patted her back gently.
After a few more retches, Erina leaned back against him.
“Yeah. I didn’t eat so nothing came out.
Having just tried to vomit, Erina steadily rubbed her face against his forearm. As her makeup came off, something similar to a ghost painting appeared on his clothes.
“Seeing you talk nonsense makes me feel fine.”
Erina blinked her big eyes.
She had a bright face as if she had no awareness of how her words would sound.
“You can do that much because you’re my exclusive servant.”
“You bragged about getting rid of the contract and not using me anymore. You’re a consistent person, too.”
While complaining, his hand holding Erina again was soft.
Even after arriving at the bedroom, Erina’s nonsense continued.
“The dress is uncomfortable. Take it off.”
“This happened to the Duke because you don’t have a maid that follows you around.”
While reprimanding Erina, Cardan was forced to take off her clothes as she struggled with the dress strap.
“How can I trust a maid?”
“You! I believe you because you are my servant.”
After removing all of her dress, leaving only her light chemise, Erina flopped onto the floor.
Erina grabbed his leg as he was about to leave.
He was already nervous at the sight of her pathetic look.
“I want to wash my face. I want to brush my teeth, too.”
Just staring at her in bewilderment, he let out a small sigh as if to compromise with her.
“I have a conscience, so I won’t ask for a bath.”
In her words, Cardan eventually buried his face in one hand.
“You have no conscience, you.”
Erina glanced at him and, after a few trials and errors, took off her necklace and earrings. He wondered what was going on, and as he watched, Erina calmly put the jewelry down at his feet.
“Sorry. I embezzled it without conscience.”
Cardan eventually grabbed her by the arm and raised her up.
“I’ll wash you, so take the lead.”
Erina, who finished washing her face and brushing her teeth while being cared for, fell on the bed humming as if she felt comfortable.
Cardan lowered her rolled up skirt as he gritted his teeth.
As he was about to leave after covering her with a blanket, her hand peeped out from under the blanket and grabbed his sleeve.
Her knuckles were strained on his sleeves.
“Put me to sleep with you next to me.”
It was a simple thing to shake off, but when he came to his senses, he was already dragging a chair without realizing it and sat by the bed.
Erina nodded with her eyes closed.
“Because you like someone else……. I’ll understand.”
He thought it was nonsense again, but instead of staring at her with dim eyes, he couldn’t tell her true intention because she was quietly closing her eyes.
So he asked even though he knew he was getting involved.
“A person who is already dead.”
“She probably died because of me.”
“What are you talking about?”
But Erina had already buried her face on the pillow.
“I wish I had no conscience…….”
Then Erina opened her eyes and grabbed his hand.
“You can’t leave until I sleep.”
Erina’s words were strangely annoying to dismiss as drunken nonsense, but Cardan eventually held her hand.
Anyway, there was no way he could shake off her thinning hand that held him desperately.
Momad, covered in wine, smashed glass to the terrace floor.
As debris splashed in all directions, Janet shuddered. At the same time, she grabbed Momad’s arm.
“I did as I was told, so let me know now.”
“You did as you are told.”
As Momad approached threateningly, Janet backed away.
“I did everything. I gave the prepared wine to the Duke.”
“Did you do it right?! Did you?!”
Momad, whose eyes were turned upside down with anger, jabbed Janet’s shoulder.
If she was her usual self, she would have given up and run away at this point as she knew Momad’s temperament well, but it was all for Peter.
She could never back down like this.
“L, let me know. News from Peter.”
Janet clenched her fist as hard as she could to avoid flinching.
“If you let me know, I’ll accept everything whether you criticize me or reprimand me.”
“Do you really want to know? News of Peter?”
At the determined expression of Janet, Momad smiled a fishy smile.
Momad, who spoke quietly, made her anxious, but Janet nodded.
Momad, who had a unique flash in his eyes which is an indication when he sought a new way to bully his sister, slowly opened his mouth.
“I have no reason to tell you just from what you’re doing…….”
In the end, Janet swallowed her tears and knelt down.
“Yes. I’m a benevolent brother, so I can tell you simple news.”
The humming of Momad’s voice raised hope in Janet’s eyes.
Momad shrugged as if to laugh at her.
“The Peter you cherish so much, is indebted to you today and tomorrow.”
I woke up with a splitting headache.
But I couldn’t open my eyes hastily.
It was because what happened yesterday began to come to mind. Besides, I was still holding Cardan’s hand.
I don’t know if I just grabbed it, but it was stuck on my cheek as a pillow.
Apart from serving as a pretty good pillow because it was warm, I sweated a cold sweat.
I pretended to toss and turn in my sleep, pulled out my hand, and pretended to be asleep, and I was praying for Cardan to leave, but a cool voice fell over my head.
I woke up as naturally as possible, cursing his ghostly insight inside me.
“Y, Your Majesty. Ha ha. What are you doing here so early in the morning?”
I was very concerned by Cardan, who squinted his eyes and clasped his hands, but I laughed deftly.
“The Duke told me not to go, and I held you, what do you mean?”
“Ha ha. I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
In fact, Cardan’s grim expression rotted more.
“Maybe it’s because I drank too much, but I don’t remember at all……. Did I commit any major misconduct?”
Cardan smiled a thin smile.
“You don’t remember it at all.”
The glare that glanced down at me almost made me hit my head and apologize, like when I was a treacherous servant again.
“Haha. Unfortunately it is the case.”
I, who became too excited because Cardan was with me, kept making him do this and that because I didn’t want to let him go.
Horribly, as soon as I woke up in the morning, I was relieved that Cardan was still around.
At least I have to have that kind of conscience.
I made a resolution in my mind, but my cheeks were caught.
As Cardan pulled my cheek with a cold smile, a painful moan burst out naturally.
“You don’t remember pulling my face like this, throwing up on my clothes, and throwing up your accessories.”
All I remember is poking her finger in his face only once, trying to vomit in the bushes, failing, and putting her accessories well at his feet.
I tried to argue about what kind of lie it was, but I managed to come to my senses.
I don’t remember anything, supposedly.
“Did I do such a heinous thing? I’m sorry, Your Majesty. I’ve committed a very deadly crime.”
After all, is this the only way?
I came down from my bed and tried to hit my head on the ground for the first time in a while, but Cardan caught me.
“Never mind. I’m a generous monarch, so I’ll forgive you this time.”
“Yes, yes, thanks to your grace.”
I lowered my head and stared at Cardan’s shoes as hard as I could.
After becoming the Duke of Baloa like that, I became a very good con man.
“Instead, you will no longer spend time with the princess of Esland. Apparently, you make trouble every time you’re together. You’re not the one who needs to seduce the princess, so I don’t know why you keep hanging out with her.”
I scratched my head at the unexpected remark.
“Well, that would be a problem.”
When I refused firmly, his glaring eyes became sharper.
“No, even if we keep our distance from now on, I think I should ask her about last night.”
A glass of wine is not enough to make the Duke of Baloa’s drunk.
“I will visit her only today and promise not to interfere with your love business in the future.”
I tried to escape the fierce gaze of Cardan and run away with crab steps toward the door.
However, as Cardan swirled a few steps with his long legs, my retreat was quickly blocked.
“Then let’s go ask together. It was something that I was curious about.”
