The elders on Lin Shan’s side were moved as their eyes revealed a longing for the Seven Mystic Treasure Pills.

Ling Xiao smiled. This was the exact effect that he wanted.

Liu Yiyi too was not resigned to the outcome. She had always belittled Ling Xiao, thus she was surprised that he had advanced to such a frightening state in just a short period of time.

The stronger he became, the more afraid she was, and the more she wanted to get rid of him. Perhaps she was feeling that way because she wanted to disguise her regret.

After all, she did not know that Great Master Jiao Mu was close to Ling Xiao, but what could she do now?

She still had Liu Xiongfei. Since things had escalated to this point, she would just have to beg him now.

Before he could comment, Liu Piaopiao walked over to Liu Yiyi and smiled. “Oh? Ling Xiao did something so shameless? How dare he do something like that to someone from the Liu Family? Cousin, tell me, when did he violate you? Did he have it his way?”

A brief look of envy could be seen on Liu Yiyi’s face when she looked at her cousin, but she quickly replied respectfully, “Cousin, it was… some time ago, but I had managed to break free, so he didn’t have it his way! Uncle, Cousin, please stand up for me!”

Her act was so touching that some disciples wanted to stand up for her by questioning Ling Xiao.

However, Liu Piaopiao’s next reply made her feel like she had fallen into an abyss.

“If what you said is true, Ling Xiao’s really shameless!”

Lu Guanjie and Ma Yan were instantly dispirited. Since Liu Xiongfei and Great Master Jiao Mu testified for Ling Xiao, they dared not question him anymore even if they had ten thousand reasons to do so.

Therefore, Lu Guanjie replied with a forceful smile, “Since Mayor Liu and Great Master Jiao Mu helped us to clear things up, it seems like we’ve really misunderstood. Martial Nephew Ma Jun wasn’t killed by this young… friend Ling!”

“Elder Ma, what are your thoughts?” Liu Xiongwei grinned.

“I think I was mistaken as well! My grandson, Ma Jun, wasn’t killed by Ling Xiao!”

Ma Yan spoke with his head lowered. He felt as if blood was dripping from his heart; he was so mad that he wanted to go crazy, but he dared not vent his anger.

Although the people from Indulgence Sect looked dejected, the disciples from Longevity Sect were beyond ecstatic.

“I’d like to talk about another matter too, the one in which Ling Xiao killed Lin Haoyu. Although I don’t know what exactly happened, I trust Ling Xiao’s character, so I believe that he didn’t kill him without reason. Perhaps it was an accident during a friendly battle, because swords don’t have eyes, do they? It must be one’s fate if they were to get injured or die during a battle. Elder Lin, what do you think?” Liu Xiongfei asked with a big smile.

Upon hearing those words, Lin Shan’s body twitched. It was as if a fire was burning inside of him. ‘If you don’t know what exactly happened, why would you say that you trust Ling Xiao’s character? If I were to insist that he’s the one who killed Haoyu, then I’ll be going against you.’

As such, he was forced to give a satisfactory response. “Mayor Liu, you’re right. It was probably an accident during a friendly battle. Haoyu was ill-fated to have been killed!”

Liu Piaopiao chuckled while she looked at him curiously.

Ling Xiao defused to comment. As a matter of fact, he could have, very well, settled everything by himself, but it would not have ended as peacefully as it did today!
