Chapter 51 The Family Dinner
The silver sports car was sprinting on the winding road. The man in the driver’s seat held his forehead with one hand and glanced at his companion next to him.
“Are you very cold?”
A Miao was desperately pulling her skirt down who shot him a glare when she saw Shen Xinglan’s eyesight falling on her lap.
“Don’t look at me!”
Shen Xinglan turned around. Her skirt was long enough to pass her knees. He really didn’t know what she was worried about. Let alone the skirt, even if she was naked…
Suddenly he recalled his reactions last time and changed his face. Then he forcibly put more strength on the throttle.
“You won’t go back on your words, will you?” A Miao found that his face turned ugly.
This afternoon, when Shen Xinglan asked someone to send her the skirt, she didn’t think it was too short. However, when she put it on, she found that it just passed her knee. If she sat down, her thighs would be revealed.
It was the first time that she wore such a short skirt and she found her two legs looked surprisingly beautiful!
“Miss, your legs are so beautiful. They look better than those models!” After Shen I praised her, A Miao was even more uncomfortable.
“I want to discuss something with you!” At that time, she ran to find Shen Xinglan.
Shen Xinglan stared at her legs wrapped in a blanket. “You are too fat to wear it?”
A Miao giggled. “Yes, it’s too tight.”
“Suck it up.”
“…”
Seeing her still not giving up, Shen Xinglan said, “If you don’t want to wear the skirt, don’t disguise your eyes.”
“I… will wear it.”
When Shen Xinglan saw A Miao’s legs in the car, no one knew what he was thinking. Only Shen II, who was careful, noticed that his own Boss pinched his fist.
“When they ask questions, if you want to answer it, you can reply. If you don’t want to answer it, just ignore them. If…” Shen Xinglan stopped the car and stare at her.
A Miao moved backward. “What are you going to say?”
“If you make them unhappy, then I will be very happy.”
“What does that mean?” A Miao looked at the man confusedly.
Shen Xinglan opened the door and ignored the housekeeper who came to welcome him. He whispered near A Miao’s ear, “If I am happy, I will find you a tutor.”
“Young master, please!”
A Miao entered the villa with her eyes widely opened.
“Dad.” Shen Xinglan gently said.
Ji Zeming sat on the sofa in the hall and nodded. “Come and sit!”
A Miao felt that the way Shen Xinglan calling his father sounded like he was calling a wild dog on the roadside. It was especially perfunctory.
“A Miao, come over!” Bai Yongwei came out with the fruit. “I haven’t had a good look at you. Come and sit next to me!”
Shen Xinglan shot her a meaningful glance, but A Miao ignored him.
“Good evening, Uncle Ji and Aunt Ji!” A Miao bowed respectfully and put the gifts on the table, saying, “Thank you for inviting us to have dinner.”
Ji Zeming glanced at the gifts and found they were all tonic. Although they were not special, it was the first time that Shen Xinglan had brought them gifts over the past few years. Under these circumstances, he looked at A Miao in satisfaction.
“This must be bought by A Miao. My son has never done this before!”
Shen Xinglan sat aside calmly. Bai Yongwei took a look at Ji Zeming and said, “Well, you always complain that Xinglan doesn’t come back frequently. Now he comes back. Why are you still complaining!”
A Miao secretly prayed that they would not open those supplements as they were all taken out from the basement and they might have mildewed…
“Daddy, shall we start dinner?” A young girl ran down from the second floor. Seeing her, Shen Xinglan suddenly froze his smile.
Bai Yongwei spoke to her, “Why are you so reckless. Come and meet your brother and his fiancee.”
“I already did!” Ji Xue ignored Shen Xinglan and A Miao. “I greeted you and Dad!”
“She is your future sister-in-law. Don’t be rude.” Bai Yongwei shot her a glare, and then looked at A Miao to apologize. “My daughter is spoiled. Please don’t be angry!”
A Miao quickly shook her head and was about to comfort her when she saw Shen Xinglan standing up.
“I’m hungry. Let’s have dinner.”
…
At the dinner table, Ji Xue suddenly started talking.
“You are A Miao? Is this your real name?” She wore a clear contempt in her eyes. “How can there be such a surname?”
A Miao calmly answered, “It is the earliest surname in ancient times. Besides my surname, Xinglan’s surname is older than mine.” She smiled at Ji Zeming.
“I heard that Xinglan is taking his mother’s surname. I think Uncle Ji must know more than me!”
Ji Zeming was stunned and then seemed to fall into a recollection. He nodded and said, “Yes, Shen is a significant surname in ancient times…”
“Dad, you…” Ji Xue was dissatisfied until she was kicked by Bai Yongwei.
Hearing A Miao and Ji Zeming talking about Shen Xinglan’s mother, Bai Yongwei pulled the corner of her mouth. She added some food into Ji Zeming’s bow and occasionally smiled to respond him.
“Okay, let A Miao eat!” After a few minutes, Bai Yongwei interrupted them.
Probably because he recalled his ex-wife, Ji Zeming’s mood was somewhat upset. He looked at Shen Xinglan, who calmly sat next to him, bowed his head, and continued to finish his meal.
“I heard that you are almost at the same age as me. Which school do you go?” Ji Xue began to ask again and gave Bai Yongwei a confident wink.
A Miao embarrassedly looked at her and said, “I should have gone to college last year, but your brother asked me to accompany him for one year…”
Shen Xing silently spat out the shrimp skin that he had eaten in his mouth by mistake and nodded. “If you haven’t insisted, I don’t want you to take the test this year. You don’t need those. You have me.”
Hearing this, the people at present reacted differently. A Miao twisted her mouth and ignored him. Bai Yongwei and Ji Xue darkened their faces.
As for Ji Zeming, his reaction was the most direct one. “Nonsense, she certainly should go to school. Or how can she help you run the company in the future.”
“Someone like her won’t be excellent even if she gets educated.” Ji Xue might be angry and blurted out, “An illegitimate child…”
“Ji Xue!”
“Shut up.”
Bai Yongwei anxiously pulled her up and said, “Apologies to A Miao!”
A Miao stood up from her chair. “I don’t need your apology because I won’t accept it.” She looked at Ji Xue and said, “This is the first time. I won’t beat you for Shen Xinglan’s sake.”
“Yes, you won’t, but I will.” Shen Xinglan stared at Ji Xue coldly.
Ji Xue screamed until Bai Yongwei hurriedly stood in front of her. “Xinglan, I apologize on behalf of Xiaoxue. Please forgive her for your father’s sake.”
“This is the second time.” Shen Xinglan’s voice sounded chill. “I have told you. I don’t have a good habit of not beating a woman. Obviously, she didn’t remember.”
Shen Xinglan went to grab her but Ji Zeming roared behind him.
“Stop! I’m still alive.”
Clatter… Ji Zeming threw his bowl to the ground, and screamed furiously, “All of you, sit!”
A Miao turned and bowed to Ji Zeming. “I am sorry, uncle Ji. I can’t sit down again. If I have dinner with a person who insulted me and my mother, I think I will spit.”
“Behave your daughter, or I will.” Shen Xinglan said and left. A Miao followed him closely. She found Ji Xue was staring at her with grief when she passed by.
“Are you blind?” Ji Xue suddenly yelled.
Because A Miao thrust into her to avoid the debris on the ground.
“Xiaoxue!” Bai Yongwei shot her a look. “Shut up, or I will send you abroad tomorrow.”
Ji Xue stamped her feet, turned and wanted to leave when she felt something dropping off her body.
“Ah!!” She screamed and squatted, covering her chest.
Shen Xinglan, who walked to the door, turned around. When he saw what was falling off Ji Xue, he couldn’t help smiling.
“Oh, you!” Bai Yongwei’s face turned pale and quickly picked it up.
As Ji Zeming did not have a clear vision, he reached out and said, “What did she hide? Show me!”
“Nothing. It’s a girl’s stuff.” Bai Yongwei helped Ji Xue up, who was crying, and said, “I will help her upstairs first.”
A Miao, who was standing next to them, reached out. “Let me help you.”
“Don’t touch me!” Ji Xue pushed her hand away. She pushed so hard that she threw A Miao’s hand on Bai Yongwei’s shoulder directly. The things in Bai Yongwei’s hand flew out in a parabolic line.
Snapped! It fell on Ji Zeming’s head…
The two flesh-colored chest stickers attached to his face. Ji Zeming had not figured out what they were until he took them down and asked, “What are these?”
“Ah!” Ji Xue cried and ran upstairs. Bai Yongwei took them over and said awkwardly, “It…is a bra.”
Ji Zeming’s face changed instantly. He stood up, patted the table, pointed at Bai Yongwei for a while before snorting and walking away.
“Are you satisfied? Let’s go.” A Miao whispered.
Shen Xinglan was obviously in a good mood. They looked at Bai Yongwei before they left with smiles.
Only Bai Yongwei was left in the dining room with no expression. She suddenly madly pushed all the plates off the table.
“Shen Xinglan… Why are you coming back? Why?” She looked mean as if she were not the same person. “Your mother used to block my way in the past. Now you not only stole the company form my son but also bullied my daughter.”
Taking a deep breath, Bai Yongwei slowly calmed down and restored the noble and warm appearance.
“Servant, clean up the restaurant.”
Then she slowly walked to the window and watched the silver sports car running down along the mountain road.
“Hehe! Since I was able to drive away your mother, I can drive you away today.” Bai Yongwei showed a shallow smile. “As you don’t go easy on me, then you can’t blame me to do it in a hard way.”
In the car, they were quiet. A Miao couldn’t help secretly looking at the man who was driving the car.
“It’s a good performance. You can try it on the old one next time.”
A Miao was stunned. When she figured out his meaning, she stared at him and asked, “Do you mean Bai Yongwei?”
“If you want to try on the old man, I have no opinion.”
Hehe… A Miao turned to the window. After a while, she said, “Thank you.” “Thank you for standing up when I was insulted.”
“You think too much.” As he opened his mouth, all of A Miao’s gratitude suddenly vanished.
Shen Xinglan said coolly, “I just want to slap her.”
