Chapter 5.1 - I Don't Need A Cage Anymore

When Blood took me back to my cage this morning, the Demon King approached as soon as he spotted me.

“Prince! Is your body okay? Was it consensual!? Anyway, why are you back in that cage again?”

“I feel very comfortable here. What shall we do today? Shall I tell you about yesterday’s dazzling secret affair?”

“No, no, no I would rather not listen to my subordinates’ erotic stories… So it was consensual? Then you should conduct a ceremony and make a vow, guys. I thought it might be a good idea to summon a priest, luckily it wasn’t in vain.”

The Demon King told us. I looked at him, flabbergasted.

A vow? What does he mean by make a vow?

I looked up at the man and he smiled at me, and hugged my shoulder. He whispered softly in my ear and told me that a marriage in the Demon country is conducted by making a vow in a sacred place.

“Then, allow me to start off. I, Vampire Chieftain and secretary of the Demon King, Blood, pledge my eternal love to His Highness Etasha Sven Elf Potpourri, who came to the Demon Kingdom under this contract. I hereby ask you to acknowledge the marriage between me and His Highness Etasha.”

I froze at the man’s words. He had called it ‘E-Eternal love’.

I had told him yesterday that I only wanted to spend a short time with him. What should I do, I-I don’t know how to reply to such a wonderful vow.

I was clueless.

“It’s your turn, Etasha.”

When he whispered in my ear in a low tone that echoed to my groin, my body lost its strength. I had never known that being called by my name could make me feel this good. The reason I didn’t know this was because almost no one had ever called me by my name. I almost forgot my own name because of this. Who thought it would turn into something so important.

“I-I’m Etasha Sven Elf Potpourri, I, urmm…”

“Just say something similar to what you said to me yesterday. I’ve accepted the life that you offered, didn’t I…?”

Every time he whispered in my ear, my legs would go numb and I nearly let out a strange noise. The man supported me with one arm as I lost my strength and almost sank to the ground.

“I dedicate this life to you, Blood-sama…”

“Sure, I hereby accept your vows. Congratulations on your marriage.”

The moment the priest in front of me announced this with a smile, the atmosphere around me changed. For a moment, I felt a kind of warm magic envelop me, or rather, the entire castle. I knew from the Demon King’s mutters that it was not just the castle, and that it had spread throughout the entire country.

“Now, the contract has been fulfilled. This will prevent the Human race from attacking because of the land dispute with the Demon race.”

The Demon King seemed to have noticed the change in the atmosphere and his shoulders slumped as if relieved.

I was surprised to see that it was actually possible to get married with just a verbal vow, and the man who noticed my expression, told me that this was usually the case. He said that even among the Human race, outside of the royal castle, marriages were established through the exchange of pledges; and it was only among royal families that the act of sexual intercourse can establish marriage.

“Anyway, Blood, what are you going to do about the formal ceremony for the marriage contract and the wedding reception?”

“The ceremony of the marriage contract was completed last night, so it should be fine. Before he changed his mind, I had already accepted his life, so my mark is already engraved on Etasha’s body. With this, my Vampire tribe is secure. I need to make sure that my magic power is well acclimated and that Etasha gives birth to many of our children.”

“It’s a contingency plan! I didn’t really think that you would get married so soon, as you’re too uptight. I thought you’d at least make a vow first… but you have already eaten the prince…”

“Demon King! No, the prince still reeks of a virgin, so there has been no sexual relationship!”

“EHHHH!? Then, what were those meaningful words you said earlier? I’m more surprised you haven’t done it!”

“We just lay skin to skin on the bed, holding hands and intertwining our legs. Because Etasha is afraid of being painted black like in the books, I thought I’d teach him from scratch after the pledge. Fufu. I’m looking forward to it.”

“ ‘Painted black’ ? What the hell is that? That’s scary!”

When I replied with a straight face that I was indeed afraid of being painted black, the Demon King looked weary and summed up the conversation, then changed the topic.

“For the time being, there’ll be a castle-wide celebration this afternoon! Curiz, make the arrangement!”

“I understand, My Lord!”

From inside the birdcage, the man who is my spouse in marriage and I were calmly watching the flurry of activity in the office.

“I’m glad the contract has been fulfilled… Now, the Demon Kingdom is safe.”

“Yeah. This is all thanks to you. For the time being, as written at the bottom of the contract, we need to have many children of our own and prepare many successors for the Demon King. They’ll have the bloodline to inherit the throne after all.”

“Um, but I’m a man, I can’t give birth.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of it. We are a proud Vampire tribe. The magic of conceiving a child with the same sex was invented long ago. And since I’ve already drawn it on that embarrassing part of yours, when you properly exchange bodily fluids of love with me, you will be a semi-vampire. I’ll have you spend an eternity with me, too. Not just for a little while.”

“…You mean, we’ll be the same? Fufu, ‘ Eternity ‘, that sounds very nice.” When I murmured to myself in rapture, the man smiled at me in a calm manner.

“Shall I put the cage in the corner here? Yesterday it was over after we intertwined our hands and overlapped our bodies, so today we’re going to make sure to do it till the end and properly exchange fluids and make a baby.”

“End? Yes. But I don’t want today to be the end, so please do a lot. Err, I’ll do my best to endure the b-black paint as well…”

“Fufu, it’s okay. I know how to do it without painting it black, so don’t be afraid. Just leave it to me. We’ll do so much that Etasha will cry ‘ No, no, more~ Stop, don’t stop!’ .”

“Just get out of that cage, both of you! And the prince! Do you know what you’re saying? Don’t talk like that to this closet pervert! You’re only stirring him up. Like really stirring him up! If you stir up such a closet pervert, the result would be really scary, you know!”

The man and I looked at the Demon King, whose blue veins popped out of his forehead, from behind the cage bars, then looked at each other and laughed.
