The Zain Kingdom army, led by Raidorl, advances at breakneck speed.
The Fernigesh mountain range on the border between the Kingdom of Zain and the Osman Empire has been paved by the witch herself. There are no walls to hinder the march.
There were villages, towns and forts along the way but there were no soldiers or even living inhabitants there.
Wandering around the places where people would once have lived are all the dead who do not speak. They attacked Raidorl and the others who came to them but they only came at them foolishly and were pierced through just by holding the tip of their spears out in front of them and returned to the motionless corpses.
Raidorl continued straight onwards towards the royal capital, connecting towns along the way and building up supply routes for supplies and troops.
Itâs been seven days since Raidorl raised his army and crossed the border.
It was easy and deceptively simple to arrive at the snout of the royal capital of the Athena Kingdom.
âSo thatâs the royal capital of this countryâŠâŠHow easy it was to get here.â
Raidorl, astride his horse, gazes at the city ahead and murmurs. Behind him are soldiers led by Darren and other generals.
They had been able to march on without any obstruction up to this point. The army is still intact. No one has been injured in battle, although some have had stomach problems after drinking raw water.
Only half of the enemy generals, the ăFour Knights of the Apocalypseă, still remain.
Raidorl had thought that there would be an attack during their march butâŠâŠthey arrived at the royal capital surprisingly uneventfully.
âYou mean they donât have fangs for us? Theyâre underestimating us, arenât they?â
âOr maybe they areâŠâŠwary of us and are therefore saving their strength.â
Darren Garst, also on horseback, advanced. A beautiful knight like a nobleman stands alongside Raidorl.
âThey may have decided that even if they spread out their forces, they would still be defeated individually, so they may have decided to concentrate the fight in the royal capital. In fact, if the ăEarthă witch Osman and the two remaining members of the ăFour Knightsă were to gather here, they would pose a considerable threatâ
âI seeâŠâŠthatâs one way of looking at it. Thatâs what Iâd expect from you, Darren.â
Raidorl nodded in admiration.
Although Raidorl was a peerless warrior chosen by the Holy Sword, Darrenâs knowledge of tactics and strategy was superior. He was no match for Darren, who was the son of Bazel Garst, the subject of the Protectorate and had been trained as a gifted man to lead the knights.
âThen what do you think the enemy will do? Will they strike out, or will they lock themselves up in the Royal Capital?â
âPerhaps they will attack and take to the field. It would be difficult to siege the Royal Capital in the condition it is in.â
âThatâs trueâŠâŠthey donât seem to have any idea of repairing the city walls.â
From such a location, the exterior of the royal city can already be seen. Surrounded by walls, the city was in a pitiful state and was in no condition for a siege.
The walls and gates that were destroyed when the undead army led by Osman attacked the capital were left unrepaired.
The defensive strength of the walls, with large holes in them, is as good as paper. It should be easy to get inside.
âIf the defences of Royal Capital are paralysed, itâs the army of the undead we should be worried about. The witch and the Four Knights.â
Raidorl murmured in a grave tone.
Leaving the undead to the soldiers, the problem was the witch and the Four Knights.
Not to mention the power of the Osman, the ăThe Six Witches of Doomă who are said to bring about the end of the world, the ăFour Knights of the Apocalypseă were also a force to be reckoned with.
Only two heroes chosen by the Holy Sword â Raidorl and Neferte Athena â could take them seriously.
Aside from Raidorl, Neferte had just awakened to the power of the Holy Sword and was uneasy.
âIf itâs Sister Osman, you donât need to worry! She wonât come out anyway.â
[TL:Osman Ane-sama]
âNeimilia?â
Neimilia appeared behind Raidorl. He wonders when she came but she gets on the back of the horse and hugs him.
âSister Osman must be pretty worn out from all the earthquakes and moving mountains. Sheâs lazy, so she wonât be out in the open anymore!â
âEven though thereâs a battle happening right under their noses? If the undead or the ăFour Horsemenă are killed, she could be killed this time, you know?â
âShe is the kind of person who prioritises ăitâs too much trouble to move aroundă over the fact that she might die, Ane-sama. If itâs something only she can do, sheâll do it but if itâs something she can impose on others, sheâll leave it to others. If she fails and dies, sheâll say, ăWell, it canât be helped.ă Thatâs how she thinks.â
âSheâs a strange woman. Maybe this younger sister is really related to that older sisterâŠâŠ?â
[TL:Imouto, Ane]
Raidorl sighs in amazement.
Against her lazy sister, the lustful younger sister hugs Raidorlâs back and presses her bosom, which is wrapped in a maidâs uniform.
Her hands are fondling Raidorlâs breasts and she is sniffing mindlessly.
âAnd âŠâŠ for what itâs worth, my sister trusts the ăFour Knightsă under her command. I wouldnât think of them losing.â
Neimilia adds, rubbing her cheek against Raidorlâs back.
âIf Sister Osman makes a move, it would be to question the power of the ăFour Knightsă. You donât doubt someone you trust. When you ăentrustă someone with your life, you entrust them with your life. She is a heavy woman like thatăŒ.â
âYouâre just as heavy as herâŠâŠAnyway, it looks like the enemy is coming outâ
The undead appear, crawling out of the breached gates and holes in the ramparts.
Like an overflowing antâs nest, theâŠ..undead were growing in number.
âForm up! Prepare for battle!â
âHa!â
Darren sends instructions to the soldiers behind him.
The general leading the soldiers manoeuvres them into formation in a familiar manner.
âWell thenâŠ..leave the enemy forces to me. Your Highness Raidorl, please fight as you see fit.â
âAaa, leave it to me.â
Raidorl entrusted the command of the army to Darren and gripped the holy sword at his waist.
In this battle, he intended to leave the command of the Zain Kingdom army to Darren and concentrate on fighting the enemy he was to fight.
The enemyâŠâŠthat Raidorl should be fighting is already visible above the crumbling city walls.
âForward, undead army! They are the vindictive enemies who seek the life of our queen, Osman-sama!â
ââŠâŠâŠâŠâ
Two figures stand on the ramparts.
One is a nervous-looking old man who is shouting loudly and the other is a dark-haired, brown-skinned, brooding young man who is standing straight and silent.
Knight of War â Garbolus.
Knight of Death â Zansha.
The closest aide of the Witch Osman.
The ăApostlesă, demons created by the ăSix Witches of Doomă, stood in Raidorlâs line of sight.
