In order to wield a demon sword, a trial must be overcome by the prospective wielder. However, this no longer applied to Kang Oh.
Once he mastered Demonic Swordsmanship and Devil Trigger, he gained a new class ability.
[Your control over demon swords has been maxed out.]
[You have become the master of all demon swords. The trial is no longer an obstacle to wielding demon swords.]
He hadnât made use of this ability because there werenât any new demon swords to be found. Fortunately, the three legendary blacksmiths gave him an opportunity to make full use of this ability.
Kang Oh was able to equip all three of the demon swords without any fuss.
âMake me a Bone Golem. Make it really tough.â
A giant Bone Golem would prove to be an excellent sandbag. Kang Oh tested out his new demon swords, ascertained their abilities, and gradually got more familiar with them.
He heard the news heâd been waiting for.
âThe Resurrection Stone has appeared,â Javen said. He had called all of the Soul Guardians and Kang Ohâs party, aside from Loxia and Asu; they were at the Lamp, watching over the river of souls.
âFinally!â Kang Oh clenched his fist.
Why else had he come to the underworld? For the Resurrection Stone, of course!
It was a miraculous stone that could create a new vessel for the soul!
The word âstoneâ made him think of the soul dungeonsâ triangular soul stones. âMaybe itâll look similar.â
The Resurrection Stone was like the sun. The only difference was its size; it was about as large as a watermelon.
Loxia, Tasha, Asu, and Rudy (adult form) were already there, dealing with low-rank Soul Eaters with long arms and legs.
The Resurrection Stoneâs appearance would coincide with a massive influx of new Soul Eaters, and all of them would, without question, rush towards the stone like moths to a flame.
However, they couldnât overcome the giant wall that was Grande Loxia.
Whenever he swung Blood, which he infused with a ton of aura, powerful blood red energy would devour a Soul Eater.
You canât forget about Asu, Rudy, and Tasha, whoâd all undergone special training with him, either.
By the time Kang Ohâs party made it there, Loxia and his team had already cleaned up the Soul Eaters.
However, they all knew that this was only the beginning.
The whale hadnât shown up yet.
âYouâre here?â Loxia said.
âYeah.â Javen nodded his head and stared off into the distance.
The Orc Hero, Howlka, repeatedly tightened and loosened his grip over his axe.
Kunta and Khan crossed their arms, and shared idle chat.
âI can sense its power,â Javen said.
âIt⊠He must be referring to the Mamonas, right?â
âItâs here,â Howlka said.
Then, a giant hole appeared, and out came the Mamonas.
It looked like a whale, but it was much wider than a normal one. Plus, its body was completely black, as if itâd been sprayed with squid ink.
This was the Ruler of the Golden Desert, Mamonas!
It was the highest class Soul Eater!
There were six of them in total.
In the process of becoming a Soul Eater, the Mamonas gained the âProliferationâ ability, explaining why there were duplicates of it here.
âWeâll each take one,â Javen said.
Javen, Loxia, Howlka, Khan, and Kunta! There were five Soul Guardians in total, but there were six Mamonas.
The legendary hero glanced at Asu, Nile, Sephiro, and Eder. They all looked confident. The Soul Guardiansâ training had really paid off.
âYou and your friends take care of the last one. You can do it, right?â Javen said, looking at Kang Oh last.
âOf course.â Kang Oh grinned.
His comrades nodded their heads.
âWe can all take one each. Looks like today will be an easy day,â Kunta said sarcastically.
âI can take two no problem,â Howlka retorted.
âI can take three.â Khan raised three fingers.
Loxia chuckled and charged at the closest Mamonas. Tasha was right on his tail.
âTch, you two are inseparable!â
The Soul Guardians went their separate ways.
âAll that remains is⊠that one. Iâll go on ahead!â Sephiro took the lead, riding on top of Waryongâs back.
Kang Oh, Asu, Nile, and Eder propelled themselves forward using the Cubes as stepping stones.
The Mamonas had eight eyes total, four on the left and right sides of its head. Befitting its gluttonous nature, its mouth was extremely large. Lastly, it radiated an immense amount of pressure.
A powerful roar, strong enough to rupture their eardrums, rang out. All six of the Mamonas had roared simultaneously.
[You have heard the Mamonasâs Roar.]
[It possesses tremendous strength.]
It was declaring its intent to eat them all!
Kang Ohâs target went straight for the Resurrection Stone.
âLetâs go, Waryong!â
Sephiro notched a giant, harpoon-like arrow onto his bowstring. It was called a âGiant Killerâ. True to its name, the arrow specialized in killing giant monsters.
Of course, the Mamonas was a soul, so no matter how large the arrow was, it wouldnât hit it.
Sephiro was well aware of this fact. In spite of that, he shot the arrow anyway.
The giant âharpoonâ flew through the gravity-less space.
At some point, the harpoon radiated intense light and transformed into a wyvern.
It was as if it were truly alive; the wyvern of light rotated in the air, and then struck the Mamonasâs head.
A ring of light rippled outwards.
It was so powerful that the Mamonas briefly stumbled back.
âOh, yeah! Howâs that feel!?â
It was a secret move that Kunta had passed down to him.
The technique gave his arrow incredible power, and also possessed the âHomingâ ability.
The Giant Killer was a huge arrow, which made it difficult to aim. However, Shining Bombardment allowed him to maximize the Giant Killerâs power while simultaneously increasing his accuracy.
It was a match made in heaven!
Moreover, it had no cooldown time, so it could be used repeatedly as long as he had MP to spare.
Sephiro continuously used Shining Bombardment.
Shining Bombardment manifested differently with each user, and for Sephiro, it appeared like Waryong, only made of light. He truly was a Wyvern Master.
However, the Mamonas was a legendary beast. Shining Bombardment only made it hesitate for a brief moment. It continued its charge, despite the shower of Giant Killers.
Different colored beams shot out of its eight eyes. Each beam was of a different element.
Kang Ohâs party quickly created Cubes, used them as stepping stones, and avoided the beams by leaping upwards or to the side.
Unlike Sephiro, he hadnât learnt anything in particular from the man. However, his equipment was different.
It was a limited-time item that could only be used in the underworld! It was on the same level as the holy sword, Max Perado.
That was in spite of the fact that it only had one ability. Which meant that that one ability was out of this world.
Great Demon Kingâs Power!
This ability would turn every spell that the caster used into one that the Demon King once used. However, it could only be used ten times, and once those ten times were up, the staff would break.
ââŠ.Soul binding chains!â
He cast a Necromancer spell that allowed him to trap the ordinarily unbindable soul with mysterious chains.
The chains were huge. They were like the Krakenâs tentacles. Moreover, there were dozens of them.
The chains wrapped around the Mamonasâs giant body, preventing it from moving a muscle.
âThis is the Demon Kingâs magic!â Eder shivered.
The Mamonas writhed around, opened its mouth wide, and unleashed black energy from within.
It was like an avalanche.
Countless bones appeared. It was like all sorts of debris that floated around in space.
The bones gathered together, absorbed the beam, and transformed into a ball.
There was an explosion, but it wasnât all that large.
Kang Oh, Asu, and Nile plummeted towards the Mamonasâs back.
Asu and Rudy unleashed the Flames of Demise, which began to burn the Mamonas.
âUhahp!â Nile unleashed lightning and fire from his fists.
Countless tentacles burst from the Mamonasâs back. Its eye beams also repeatedly fired at them.
There were too many tentacles. It was as if he were inside of brushwood made up of tentacles. The elemental beams were a pain in the ass too.
Kang Oh pulled out Bargoâs demon sword. It was the one that looked like a giant drill.
Demon Sword Spear, Karadin!
He held the blade with two hands, and silver energy spread from his grip.
His body was coated in well-polished silver. There was also a crescent moon shaped horn on one side of his forehead.
Kang Oh thrust the sword spear and kicked off a Cube.
He cleaved through countless tentacles⊠and a streak of silver fell upon the Mamonas.
The Great Change had unearthed countless secrets that lay dormant in the ground.
The Kramas Ruins were one of them.
It was a silver city that lay in between the cracked earth!
The historians couldnât help but find these ruins curious. It was because all of the buildings were made of silver. Plus, it was filled with exquisite silver statues of people, cats, dogs, etc. Who could craft this silver with such precision? The skill it would require was astounding.
The historians soon uncovered a shocking truth.
Kramas wasnât originally made up of silver statues and buildings.
Some sort of disaster had taken place, transforming all of the buildings and inhabitants into silver.
In order to uncover the cause of this, the historians looked through ancient texts, and eventually came to an ominous name.
The Silver Calamity, Karadin.
It was born in the Bowdle Mine, where the continentâs largest supply of silver could be found!
The Karadin could turn even the soul into silver, keeping the unfortunate victim frozen in time!
Its birthplace was located near the Dwarven city of Orgonia, and it was there that the Karadin made its first appearance.
Since the dwarves were extremely talented in handling metal, they were able to drive off Karadin, but they sustained huge casualties in the process.
At the time, Bargo lived in Orgonia, so he clearly remembered what the Karadin looked like.
In any case, the Demon Sword Spear Karadin gave him power over âsilverâ.
Kang Oh, whoâd transformed into a demon, thrust his blade into the Mamonasâs body.
The drill-shaped âswordâ fiercely spun. It was one of its special abilities, âVortexâ.
He pierced through the Mamonasâs flesh, and turned its innards to silver.
Calamity Bringing Silver!
It was another one of its abilities. Whenever he landed an attack, the opponent would turn to silver. And eventually, they would turn into a silver statue, just like the people of Kramas did.
Mamonas violently struggled against the chains, and was able to break a portion of them. Then, it attempted to swallow Kang Oh whole with its giant mouth.
There were tentacles inside that packed a punch. Plus, powerful energy gathered in its throat.
Kang Oh used the Silver Demonâs power.
Silver flowed out of his feet and rose into the air. It was a defensive technique similar to Abyss Shield.
What differed was the fact that itâd protect him on its own. The silver absorbed the tentacles like gum.
However, there was still the matter of the beam to worry about.
One hit of that and itâd be game over for him. However, there was no place he could go inside of the whaleâs mouth.
âHoo.â Kang Oh took a deep breath and used another one of the Silver Demonâs powers.
White Silverâs Vengeance!
Silver energy flickered around his blade. Then, the energy spread out like an umbrella.
The Mamonasâs beam came flying at him.
White Silverâs Vengeance would deflect his opponentâs attack back at them.
Once the Mamonasâs beam was reflected back at it, its body began to shake. There were holes everywhere.
Kang Oh created a sturdy Cube, and then swung his drill sword like a golf club.
The silver line cleaved the Mamonas in two.
