Kang Oh pulled out a mass-produced greatsword from his inventory while he was in the air.
Ubist instantly devoured the greatsword, and jet-black energy radiated from his body.
His body welled with power.
All of his abilities were increased threefold!
Normally, this skill made his enemies cower in fear and reduced their abilities, but it had absolutely no effect on the Serpentra Queen.
On the contrary, it only made it angrier.
It opened its mouth as wide as it could and shrieked.
Kang Oh was caught in the resulting sound wave, and staggered in midair.
âBe careful. Itâs strong,â Tasha said telepathically.
Kang Oh quickly flew towards Rubion.
Then, Rubion gathered light in its outstretched wings. Six spots in total glowed with light.
Serpentra Queenâs Judgment!
Six beams of light flew at Kang Oh.
Kang Ohâs evasion was tripled instantly.
âLetâs break through!â Kang Oh yelled.
Tasha controlled his wings for him. Not only was her skill unrivaled, but Gluttony and Red Demonâs Dance were currently active.
Thus, he managed to dodge the beams of light by a hairâs breadth.
Kang Oh rushed at the Serpentra Queen.
In just a short time, Kang Oh had swung his swords ten times. However, only three of his strikes had landed properly. Seven of his attacks had missed due to the effects of âQueenâs Noble Scalesâ.
âTch.â Kang Oh clicked his tongue.
âTry harder,â Tasha scolded.
The Serpentra Queen began its counterattack.
Rubion flapped its wings, and black powder suddenly flew through the air.
Kang Ohâs Hyper Intuition sent him a cold warning as the powder got close. âPlease dodge it!â, it seemed to say.
âWe have to dodge it!â Kang Oh urgently yelled.
Tasha pulled him back, but then, Rubionâs white horn glowed.
All of a sudden, a light cross descended from above. It was the same type of skill as Water Prison or Abyss Prison.
No good could come from getting hit by it. However, it was too late to dodge it.
His snow-white blade unleashed a blood red blast, which devoured the light cross.
It was like a red tide phenomenon. Bright white energy glimmered amidst the blood red energy.
Ultimately, the two disparate energies destroyed each other.
Kang Oh turned around and pointed Ubist at Rubion.
His blade glimmered with golden energy. At the same time, a menacing tiger dashed towards the Serpentra Queen.
A ray of light pierced through the air!
Upon collision, the two energies exploded.
Normally, Tempest Tiger wouldnât be a match for Photon Cannon, but with Gluttony and Blood Emperor in effect, it was able to go toe-to-toe with it.
Kang Oh pierced through the explosion and appeared before the queen.
He unleashed auras that contained the demonsâ power.
He attacked ten times again. But this time, his sixth attack was accompanied by a Darkness Strike.
Ubist and Blood unleashed overwhelming waves of pure power.
Kang Ohâs physical attacks were mixed with the abyss and blood elements. However, the Serpentra Queen possessed high elemental resistance, so it didnât do him much good. Plus, six of his attacks had missed.
In exchange, his successful attacks were largely effective. After all, he was under the effects of Gluttony and Blood Emperor.
âYou have to keep your flying time in mind.â
He couldnât fly forever, unless the Divine Dragon came out of nowhere and cast a Flight spell on him.
âHow much time do I have left?â
âGet me to the ground. Iâll attack the queen with Weapon Bombardment and assess the situation.â
Tasha folded his wings, and made him dive to the ground.
He could hear its roar once more.
The Black Sphere followed Kang Oh on his way down. It was no different from a black hole.
If he got caught in that, then heâd be screwed.
Fortunately, he flew extremely fast.
Kang Oh landed on the floor and threw Blood. Then, he drew Sarahoff and threw it too.
Only Demon Sword Ubist was left in his hands.
He automatically reverted to his Jet-Black Demon form, which lacked the blood red armor, horns, and dark red wings.
The Black Sphere fell from above.
Kang Oh sank into the darkness.
A giant hole was made where heâd once been.
Blood and Sarahoff flew towards the Serpentra Queenâs wings.
The effects of âQueenâs Noble Scalesâ applied to its wings too.
However, Sarahoff hit the bullseye. Not only that, but the force provided by Weapon Bombardment amplified its power.
This resulted in a massive explosion.
Rubionâs body staggered in the air. Sarahoff had left behind a giant hole in its wing.
But that wasnât the end. All of a sudden, a black beast appeared above its head.
Kang Oh opened his off-hand, and called Sarahoff.
Once he felt Sarahoff reach his handâŠ
A chilling wave of frost spread outwards. Ring of Frost affected any enemies within a 5 meter radius. Rubionâs head, as well as a portion of its wings were frozen solid.
He didnât manage to freeze its wings in their entirety, so it didnât plummet to the ground.
Even so, Ring of Frost had done its job!
To think heâd be able to freeze a boss.
However, the ice soon began to crack. It seemed like it wouldnât remain frozen for long.
Heâd realized that any attack on a frozen area wouldnât miss from fighting the normal Serpentras. Thus, he couldnât afford to let this chance go.
Of course, he didnât have enough time to target every single afflicted area. He had to focus on the areas he could reach, and the ones that would do the most damage.
Kang Oh aimed for its wings.
He wouldnât deal much damage, but he would hamper its ability to fly.
Ubist unleashed a tsunami of darkness that devoured one of the queenâs wings.
The darkness passed through, cracking any ice it made contact with. Clear red shards of light flew through the air.
The wing was so damaged that it couldnât function properly. Thus, the Serpentra Queen writhed and plummeted to the ground.
However, it didnât just sit there and take it.
Hundreds of beams shot out of its body.
Kang Oh immediately shielded himself with his demon swords.
He was shoved away by the incredible force.
The angle wasnât great for him. He was really far from the round plate. A dark abyss was just waiting to swallow him whole.
Abyss Transfer was still on cooldown. There wasnât anything he could use Darkness Chain on either.
He had to figure something else out.
âYeah, thatâll work!â
If he didnât have anything he could use Darkness Chain on, then heâd just make one!
Kang Oh quickly wrapped Darkness Chain around Sarahoffâs hilt. Then, he threw Sarahoff as far as he could.
His demon sword flew in a straight line. Kang Oh, who was holding onto the chain, was naturally pulled forward.
Only then did Rubionâs giant body land onto the ground with a huge âthudâ.
Various sized holes perforated the ground.
Then, Sarahoff hit the ground, causing a portion of the ground to crumble beneath its power.
Kang Oh followed his blade, arcing in the air, and then landed safely on the ground.
He quickly pulled Sarahoff out of the hole it was falling into and retrieved it.
Only then did he sigh in relief. âI almost died there.â
Demon Sword Blood returned and stuck itself into the ground in front of him.
Kang Oh threw Demon Sword Blood once more, and charged at the Serpentra Queen with both Sarahoff and Ubist in hand.
Now there was no need for any complicated tactics; after all, he didnât need to fight in the air, nor did he need to rely on ranged attacks. Kang Oh could focus on what he did best.
For Rubion, this was exactly the position it wanted to be in. After all, it could fly and attack its opponent from afar, while its opponent had less and less room to move.
However, this crumbled floor became the worst possible environment for it.
If it mustered up even a little bit of its power, then the floor would crumble beneath its body. It also couldnât move as it pleased.
Even so, Rubion was the master of this place.
The queenâs twin horns glowed, causing the holes to repair themselves.
Now, the floor wouldnât crumble from the slightest of touches, and it wouldnât pose a problem to the queen.
However, Kang Oh welcomed this act.
âLetâs fight for real!â
Kang Oh fiercely bombarded it with attacks, and Rubion counterattacked despite its damaged wing.
The queen alternated between its powerful light and darkness element attacks. Even its huge body was a threat to Kang Oh.
Despite that, it seemed far weaker than before, when just its mere presence was overwhelming.
On the flip side, Kang Oh was able to fight at his fullest.
On land, Kang Oh was a far more fearsome and more powerful predator.
All sorts of wounds appeared on Rubionâs body. If itâd lacked the Queenâs Noble Scales, then it wouldâve taken much more damage than it did.
How much time had passed?
As its HP went down, Rubion would change its attack patterns and gradually unleash more of its trump cards.
Its most threatening attack was much like Bartâs Chaos Sphere; it would mix the disparate energies together and launch them at him.
After all, the slightest touch would cause this unstable mixture to explode.
However, the Serpentra Queen was unable to fly again, so Kang Oh was able to respond to it appropriately.
Kang Oh stabbed Sarahoff into the crown of its head.
That was the end of Rubion.
[You have defeated the Serpentra Queen, Rubion.]
[You are the first to defeat it. As a reward, it will drop its highest rank items.]
Kang Oh stared at the giant queenâs body and realized just how much stronger heâd become. He had defeated a boss that was at least level 600 on his own!
âLetâs see what it dropped.â
Rubion had dropped three items in total. Kang Oh bent down, intent on picking up the shimmering items.
The ground suddenly shook.
âThis feels ominous for some reason.â
Kang Oh quickly picked up the dropped items and left the area.
He attempted to do so, at least.
The floor suddenly disappeared.
Kang Oh was swallowed up by the darkness.
[Entering a sealed location within the darkness.]
âA sealed location within the darkness, huhâŠâ
It was a dome-shaped space.
However, there were golden giants standing in front of the walls.
Kang Oh swallowed and carefully observed the giants.
The gold giantsâ hands and feet were bound by chains.
[You have discovered sealed beings.]
They didnât move an inch. They didnât open their eyes either. If not for the weak sound of their breathing, then he wouldâve thought they were dead.
A giant pillar of light rose from the center of the room, and someone he hadnât expected appeared before him.
They had three pairs of beautiful, resplendent wings, and were surrounded by bright light!
The God of Creation, Maya, had appeared.
