Five days after I went to the Great Demon Dungeon, to observe the explorations of the Black Iron.

The entrance to the Tree Forest Dungeon is surrounded by trees, just like the entrance to the Demon Dog Dungeon, so I can’t find it at a glance.
However, unlike the entrance to the Demon Dog Dungeon, the entrance to the dungeon is now easily recognizable because of the guards.
As usual, we greeted the two guards in front of the entrance to the tree forest dungeon before entering the dungeon.

The inside of the dungeon was like a tropical rainforest. The temperature isn’t that high, but the humidity was so high that it felt like my clothes were sticking to my skin.
Not only that, but the trees are overgrown, and the ivy is hanging from the tree’s branches, which makes visibility much worse, but, well, no problem.

This time, all the SP from my raised level is for me to dive into the Tree Forest Dungeon for the hard caterpillar’s quest.
What I allocated were [Archery], [Enemy Search], [Prediction], and [Evasion].
I raised these four skill levels from 20 to 30.
The reason for this is poor visibility.
In a dungeon in a forest, the trees aren’t only overgrown, but ivy grows on the ground and even tangles around the tops of the trees.
Because of this, the monsters that would be visible to the naked eye are completely invisible.
Moreover, my opponent was a hard caterpillar, a B-rank monster.
If I was not careful, there was even a chance I would die with a single blow, even with my armor included, considering my defensive strength.
That’s why I increased my [Enemy Search] and made preparations to find them as quickly as possible.
My [Prediction] and [Evasion] are necessary to evade the hard caterpillar’s attack.
And to defeat the hard caterpillar once I finished collecting its strings, I focused on honing my [Archery] skills instead of [Magic Arrow] in favor of stability.

To proceed with the preparations to defeat the hard caterpillar, which is my goal this time, I first take a certain item from the [Item Box].

The one I took out of the [Item Box] has an ordinary wood handle and a metal handle, but it’s easy to hold.
And the other side of the handle is made of metal with a wide footrest, and the tip is made sharp so that I can easily insert it into the soil.

I waited for it, watching for the right moment, and moved away to keep a certain distance from it, not intercepting or catching, but avoiding it.
Then the flying hard caterpillar curled up mid-air and began dexterously rotating its body.

And the moment it landed on the ground using its rotation, it charged toward me a short distance away, cleaving the trees while sending a cloud of dust.

My smile deepens to the point where I know I’m smiling after seeing that.
As it is, I head for the spot where I had dug up the tree, prepared in advance to keep a certain distance from the rush of the hard caterpillar, which comes out of the dirt and smoke.
That’s why I prioritized targeting the sleeping hard caterpillar’s ventral leg.
If I cut off the ventral leg, it would inevitably have no legs to move, so I can make it move while spinning around like this.

That’s the hard caterpillar’s way of moving and fighting, which is the cause of what makes the Tree Forest Dungeon so unpopular.
The combat method of this hard caterpillar is this spinning rush and restraint using threads.
The restraints on using threads are particularly egregious.
If it’s simply attached to a string. There isn’t much damage, but the spinning state is troublesome.
While spinning, they wrap the thread around trees, rocks, and other obstacles that grow all over the Tree Forest Dungeon, then they will try to make you a goose chase until you’re completely immobilized before slowly and surely coming to finish you off.
If they do that, you couldn’t do anything because your hands are blocked unless you set yourself on fire.

The moment I finally stopped emitting threads after spitting out a lot of threads, I took out the Dragon Tree Bow from the [Item Box] and grabbed the transparent arrow made from [Magic Arrow].
Holding the stick with the string wound around it and the transparent arrow in one hand made it quite difficult to hold, but thanks to my improved [Archery] skill, I managed to get it in position.
Then, with my other hand, I grip the string tightly and squeeze it to the limit.
“Lock-On.”
I can’t even get the string out any further, so it’s probably not necessary for a hard caterpillar who can’t move from that spot, but hey, it’s just in case.
“Shh!”
With a small exhale, I release an invisible arrow.
Of course, there is no way that my arrow, which added [Lock-On] skill and is in a deadly hit position, will miss, and the arrow flies in a straight line toward the hard caterpillar’s brow.

I didn’t expect it to go so well.
I thought the first few of them would fail.
But it turned out to be a success, so no problem!
And to the untrained eye, I didn’t see any fraying in the threads or any signs of weirdness.
“Well then, let’s continue at this rate and do the remaining 14 quickly.”
