âIâve been telling you so many times before. Please do not approach me. If you keep on being rude like this, I wonât stand still anymore.â
âHa.â
As her words of refusal continued as they did not carry on once more, Ferdinandâs face, which had been all smiles, began to crack slowly. When his arrogant face had finally collapsed, he swept his hair up rather roughly.
âWhat, this is the opposite of what I heard from Arjan. I never expected you to be like this.â
ââŚI beg your pardon?â
Just for that one moment, she felt that her head had turned whiteâerased. He had heard something from someone else.
âWhat did Arjan say?â
âShe said that you wonât ever stop anyone who approaches?â
âWhat does thatâŚâ
âIâve already heard of everything. Thatâs just how the Duke was seduced anyway. You spread your legs even before youâve gotten marriedâŚâ
âYou just flutter that mouth of yours one more time. And itâll be torn apart.â
Lyndon eventually drew his sword, as opposed to Molitia, who was still in utter shock. Letâs listen to it, letâs just hear them allâhe couldnât possibly say something like that to the Madame, who was in front of him, with a gaping mouth like it had been pierced through. It seemed like this anger of his would not be relieved even after washing away the dreadful tongue of his by granting him death.
When he saw how pale Molitiaâs face had gotten, Lyndon exerted more strength to his hands. First, he even thought that heâd feel much better if he could just cut off Ferdinandâs tongue so that it could not make fun of her any longer.
âCraâare you crazy? You dare to unsheathe your sword in front of someone?â
âMy ears hurt just like I was only listening to a mere dog.â
âDo you think that Iâm just going to stay still for this sort of disgrace?â
âDonât stay still, then.â
Both Lyndon and Ferdinand flinched at the tone of Molitiaâs icy voice. A powerful resonance that couldnât have been believed to be the voice from a slender body, which was caught through the eyes of the two of them.
âAt the precise moment when you act, the Duke will never stand still. Youâll be charged for besmirching my name.â
âWhaâwhat.â
He had already drawn his sword, though. She could then see the people around them had begun to buzz around in surprise.
She shouldnât be making things any bigger now. Even though she knew of that, she just didnât wish to say anything to calm Ferdinand down.
She was cursing at herself and she cursed him as well. That fact had aggrieved her greatly.
âI heard that the wedding is just around the corner. As you have said before, why donât you try not to make each other angryâas much as possible?â
Ferdinand instantly faltered at Molitiaâs words. The blade of the sword that was aimed at his neck was extremely close.
The murmurs around them grew even louder. Only then did Ferdinand finally realize where he was truly at.
âHaâŚâŚ Arjanâs sister, you would think that Iâll be falling for it.â
His body, which had staggered backwards, immediately turned around before heading in the opposite direction. He looked just like a walking little bird, but he was walking quite fastâunlike before.
Despite his disappearance over at the corner, Lyndonâs breathing still hadnât recovered to normal for a while.
âAre you just letting him go?â
âI canât help it. It will only attract peopleâs attention if one were to fight on the streets.â
âHe canât even hold a candle against the Lord.â
Molitia patted Lyndon softly for him to put his sword back into its sheath. However, Molitiaâs own pace of encouraging him wasnât really that good.
âThatâs what I meant.â
She heard that Arjan had already appeared in society. She eventually reflected on the fact that she now knew why Marchioness Nibeia was upset.
Why was he so impatient that he couldnât touch her? No matter how hard she had struggled to escape, she only seemed to be tying herself with prickly thorns instead. She didnât understand any of Arjanâs behavior, which was so full of such evil that Molitia couldnât even believe that she was actually her sister.
Why did they want to put herself down so much? Just as if they had to always have an upper hand all over Molitia. Lyndon then murmured while still staring at the direction of Ferdinandâs path.
âI can actually tell, by the way, that even when that gaze were staring at me, itâs pretty clear that once My Lord receives the report of who that guy had been ogling at, heâs going to get beaten up instantly.â
âPft.â
Molitia immediately kept her mouth shut without even realizing it. And it was all because of Lyndonâs deep-thinking conversation that had pierced into her ears.
âReally! You may have not experienced it yet, but you must see the look on his face while heâs working. Itâs so brutal.â
âHe looks vicious?â
âOh my God. Madame, please let all of those people in our office hear that. Everyone will be absolutely surprised.â
âOkay, Iâll stop by the office next time. Iâd like to say hi to you as well.â
