Chapter 90: The Only One Who Made Bimoye Different

6 min read1,536 words

Bimoye stood at the classroom door, took a deep breath, and tightly held the letter containing secrets that his mother had given him.

Bimoye couldn't understand why things had turned out this way. He had cried until he was exhausted, with no strength left. He lay quietly in Teacher Sophina's arms, his head heavy, unwilling to think about anything or do anything.

As someone once said, the emotions suppressed in the heart are like accumulated floodwaters; even the strongest mental barriers will eventually break down. So don't hold back your feelings; let them flow.

In the early morning, in a corner of the academy, there was a small grove with a stream flowing through it. The green grass was dotted with tiny white and yellow flowers. Few people knew about this secluded spot, so there were rarely any visitors. Bimoye was now walking slowly through the grass, his thoughts revolving around the dragon he had seen in Datam. That dragon's shadow had filled him with hope as he searched the canyon, but he ultimately failed to find the dragon of his dreams.

"…Hehe…Hehehe…" A girl's laughter came from the nearby woods, and soon a unicorn galloped over.

Bimoye had seen the girl on the unicorn before, just a brief encounter.

Konelia kissed the unicorn's neck: "Wow, there's such a peaceful and beautiful place in the academy. Lin, you found a great spot. Yes, Christine…"

The unicorn stopped in front of Bimoye. "Hello," he nodded lightly to the girl on the unicorn and prepared to leave.

Konelia rode her mount to catch up: "Bimoye, don't you remember me?"

Bimoye looked up at her: "I remember, we met during the exam."

"No," Konelia jumped down: "I'm Isabelle Konelia. I used to visit your home with my father. Remember?"

"Hmm?" Bimoye tried to recall but couldn't.

Konelia added: "Seven years ago, almost eight. There was a red fruit tree in your yard. I climbed it to steal red fruits and fell off, landing on you."

Bimoye seemed to remember something and asked: "The little girl in the blue dress with two braids?"

"That's me, that's me." Konelia was delighted that he remembered: "I never thought I'd see you again. I thought you would be attending the Royal Inner School."

Bimoye fully recalled and smiled: "Konelia? I remember calling you 'little kitty' because you always cried, making your face dirty."

"Hehe, yes, that's me." Konelia suddenly lowered her head and said sorry.

"Hmm?" Bimoye: "Why are you apologizing to me?"

Konelia said apologetically: "I stayed at your house for over a month and was often taken care of by you, but when I left, I didn't thank you and even hit you…"

Bimoye felt a bit uncomfortable when this was mentioned: "Uh…, that was my fault. I should… I should be the one to apologize. Sorry. But, it's great to meet you again here." His face was radiant, like the morning sun. If his friends and family saw his expression now, they would be surprised.

Sitting on a stone by the stream, Bimoye couldn't help but look at her again: "Seven or eight years have passed. You've changed so much, I didn't recognize you. I remember you were always silly and clumsy as a child, like you couldn't do anything."

Konelia laughed awkwardly: "Who says that as soon as they meet?"

"Sorry, I'm not good with words."

Konelia said: "You haven't changed at all, except… you're colder than before."

Bimoye smiled lightly: "Ah, this time you came to the capital, why didn't you visit my house? By the way, I still keep the things you used at my house in a small box."

"Really?" Konelia was delighted but also a bit disappointed: "My father doesn't let me visit your house anymore."

Bimoye thought for a moment and said: "I remember, your father later had a falling out with my grandfather over political differences. But, that's their business, right?"

Konelia also smiled.

The unicorn lay on the fertile grass, enjoying the delicious herbs around it, while its owner chatted and laughed with a young boy, seemingly forgetting about it. But it wasn't angry.

"Is this unicorn your summon guardian?"

Konelia nodded: "I call it 'Lin'."

Its white fur with a faint blue magical glow, Bimoye said: "A beautiful creature."

"What about you?"

"I don't have one yet."

Konelia said: "Maybe your standards are too high. You probably wouldn't accept an ordinary magical beast."

"Maybe." Bimoye suddenly asked: "I've seen you with Bing Zhiyi a few times. Are you close?"

"My good friend Vain is in the same dorm as him, and he has helped us before," Konelia said.

Bimoye said: "Do you know his situation?"

"You seem to care a lot about him. Yes, he and you both entered Kulantin with the top scores." Konelia thought for a moment and said: "Now that you ask, I'm a bit confused about him, not a little, but completely. He rarely talks about himself. All I know is that he's an orphan named Celeste Bing Zhiyi, and that's it."

"Is that so." Bimoye lowered his head and thought.

"What are you thinking about?" Konelia said: "Let's not talk about him, okay? It's rare to meet, let's not talk about others."

"Sorry, I…" Bimoye smiled bitterly: "I don't know what to talk about, so I just ask what comes to mind."

Konelia asked: "I remember you were always cold to others as a child, except for me. Because of this, your family was surprised and kept me at your house for over a month. Why?"

Bimoye lowered his head and didn't speak, unsure if he didn't know the reason or was unwilling to say. After a moment of silence, he said: "I notice you've changed a lot from before. You used to be timid and shy, but now you're different."

His mind was fuzzy. Bing Zhiyi might have woken up later than usual. He opened his sleepy eyes, with crusty eyelids, and it took him a while to see clearly.

"You're awake." Sophina, holding a glass of milk, noticed he was sitting up: "Wait a moment, I'll be right there." She put the milk down and walked into the bedroom: "Wash up and have breakfast."

Bing Zhiyi shook his head to clear it, feeling extremely comfortable after a good sleep: "I…" His hoarse voice couldn't form words.

"You cried for a long time yesterday, and you fell asleep when you were tired. Do you remember?" Sophina asked, hugging his shoulders from behind.

Bing Zhiyi thought for a moment and shook his head. He couldn't remember when he fell asleep, only that he had cried.

Sophina suddenly shed tears.

"What's wrong?" Bing Zhiyi didn't understand.

Sophina couldn't stop crying: "The injuries on your body… How did you get them?"

Bing Zhiyi realized he was wearing the teacher's pajamas, and she must have seen his injuries when changing his clothes.

"How could a 14-year-old… How could you end up like this?" Sophina couldn't help but cry on his shoulder.

Sunlight streamed through the window into the dim room, and dust particles danced in the light. Bing Zhiyi couldn't speak, only letting her lean on him quietly.

"Sorry." Sophina wiped her tears: "Get up, I've prepared a new towel and toothbrush for you. Wash up and then we'll eat."

Bing Zhiyi jumped out of bed and put on his fluffy slippers: "Teacher, where are my clothes?"

"Washed."

"Washed?"

Sophina said: "You sweated so much yesterday, how could you sleep without a bath?"

Bing Zhiyi touched his body, realizing he was only wearing a pajama robe: "You gave me a bath!"

"Could you have bathed yourself in that state?"

Bing Zhiyi hugged himself and took a step back, looking at her in surprise: "I… I didn't wake up?"

"Oh, you woke up for a moment while bathing, but you fell back asleep. You might not remember."

Bing Zhiyi understood. He had never slept so soundly before and had never felt so refreshed. He used to sleep with a constant vigilance, always half-awake, but last night he had completely let his guard down, so much so that he didn't even realize someone had bathed him. The thought of her bathing him made him even more flustered.

Seeing his expression, Sophina, thinking he was shy, covered her mouth and laughed: "Little brat, you've seen my body, so why can't I see yours? I didn't expect you to be such a little adult."

Bing Zhiyi's face turned red.

"Just kidding. What's the big deal if a kid is seen by someone? Besides, when you grow up and get married, you'll have to be seen by a woman anyway. Don't be so shy, be more confident and act like a man."

Being called a girl, Bing Zhiyi felt a bit embarrassed. Actually, he wasn't very concerned about being seen by a woman, but the fact that it was an adult woman and his familiar teacher made him feel a bit uncomfortable.

Sophina said: "Alright, go wash your face and brush your teeth, then have breakfast." She didn't ask about his injuries, knowing he wouldn't want to talk about it, as it was his secret.
