“Cheryl, why are you here?” Sienna looked at Cheryl lying in the trunk with a livid expression.

“Obviously to protect you.”

“I don’t need your protection. Go back right this instant.”

“Go back? You want me to go back?” Cheryl pointed behind them. The end of the road was under the dark night and endless forests. One couldn’t even see the distance.

“Don’t you know that you’re just adding to the trouble by being here?”

“But I have werewolf blood!” Cheryl showed her fangs and claws.

“I feel like I’ll be in more danger with you by my side.”

“You don’t trust me,” Cheryl said unhappily.

“You’re already here, so I guess I can’t force you away.”

Sienna was silent for a bit. Then she turned toward Yiberg. “Dad, which way is safe?”

“That way,” Yiberg said.

“Are you sure?” Sienna asked.

“I feel danger creeping closer, so we definitely can’t go back.”

“What? Danger is creeping closer?”

“Yes, a very dangerous aura is approaching.”

“Why didn’t you say so earlier?”

“You didn’t ask.”

Footsteps suddenly sounded in the darkness. Cheryl immediately pounced into the darkness, but she was quickly hurled out of it.

Evangeline strolled out of the darkness. “Where did this wolf cub come from?”

“Evangeline!” Sienna’s expression changed drastically. “How did you find me?”

Evangeline was completely different from the terrifying and cruel appearance from before. She was clean and wearing a feminine jacket, jeans, and heeled sandals. Her long hair fluttered as she strolled over.

“Are you wondering because you hid your scent?” Evangeline smiled as if mocking Sienna’s supposed cleverness. “You’re not the only one who did that. Actually, the other witches I found earlier all used the Invisibility Potion to hide their scents, like you. But I must say, all of you are stupid. Why do you think that I can’t memorize your scents?”

“You said it yourself.” Sienna finally understood. No matter what Evangeline became, she still had a human’s body. How could a human remember another human’s scent and travel miles to find them?

“I said that I memorized your scents,” Evangeline continued, still smiling. “But the scent I’m talking about isn’t your physical scent. It’s the smell of your magic.”

Sienna’s expression changed again. Everything she’d done earlier to hide her scent had been useless. It was all to no avail.

Evangeline pulled a string of things out from behind her. Both Sienna and Cheryl were shocked. She’d pulled out a string of witch heads. One glance would send shivers down one’s spine.

“Are they familiar? It’s okay if they’re not. You’ll be companions with them soon. You’ll have a long time to get to know each other.”

“What do you want?”

“Want…” Evangeline thought for a long while.

It seemed like she hadn’t decided yet or was pretending to be deep in thought.

A beat later, she said, “First, I need this city, the entire country, to have no one who can threaten me.”

“With your current abilities, no one can threaten you anymore.”

“No, no, no. The witches are only in panic because of me. When you all process everything, you’ll definitely think of a solution. There’ve been many examples in the past. I don’t think I’ve already reached an unprecedented level, so I need to become even stronger.”

“Since you know that, why don’t you hide? You’re only making more witches unite.”

Evangeline suddenly started laughing. Her voice was no longer a woman’s, or even a human’s. It sounded like a dozen voices mixed together.

She’d only directed that whole play to terrorize the other witches. This way, the witches would focus on protecting themselves instead of going against her.

Just then, another car appeared behind her. She couldn’t turn around anymore. That small truck crashed into her from before.

She was stuck between two cars. She tried to push them away, but both drivers slammed on the gas. Evangeline couldn’t apply much power with her current posture either.
