“My brother is inside and Chen is performing surgery. I don’t want anyone to disturb him before the surgery ends.”

Karim and Howard blocked the surgery room’s door like two door gods.

“The patient was shot in the head,” the Dean said. “Hill Nandes already said that he has no hope. You’re just causing trouble now.” Then he said to the bodyguards beside him, “Pull them away.”

But the bodyguards were quickly sent to the ground by Karim and Howard.

“If you keep doing this, I’ll call the cops!” the Dean threatened.

“Mr. Dean, since you already decided that Kane has no hope, why can’t you give someone else a chance?”

Faur was still calm. She didn’t want a conflict to happen and affect Chen Zhao’s surgery for Kane. She wasn’t sure if Chen Zhao could save Kane, but at least there was still hope.

Right then, Winnip said, “If my man dies in there, I have reason to suspect that the surgery of this hospital had a serious mistake, so you’re stopping an expert from saving him to hide the truth.”

“Nonsense!” Hill panicked. This had nothing to do with him, but Winnip was pulling him under the water. “My surgery follows the hospital’s standards.”

“How would I know?” Winnip scoffed while looking at the Dean. “If my man dies because you guys broke in, I’ll sue you until the hospital goes bankrupt! I am not joking around.”

The Dean’s face alternated between red and pale. Gritting his teeth, he said, “Okay, I’ll wait until he comes out and then I’ll see what you can say.”

“You could’ve said this earlier,” Winnip said, sneering.

The Dean’s face was red with anger. “Nandes!” he called to Hill Nandes. “Call the principal of UCLA. I’m going to report that their staff is breaking the standards of medical practitioners. I want him fired!”

Winnip couldn’t help but get worried. “Will UCLA really fire Chen over this?” she asked Faur softly.

Faur was worried, but she couldn’t do anything except forge on. “It’s okay. He doesn’t really need this job, anyway. It’s just a title for him.”

“Dean, the call is connected.”

Wright’s voice came from the other end of the call. “Hello, Wright speaking. Who are you?”

“I am Rozick Juan, Dean of Sacramento Toffajate Hospital.”

“A professor from your school named Chen Zhao is acting crazily in our hospital. He’s performing surgery on someone already pronounced dead and using our surgery room without getting permission. He refuses to come out too. I demand that you fire him.”
