âWhat are you arguing about?â Hoffmanâs main doctor walked over.
âHe says that Hoffman is still alive.â Tim Waltz still had a shred of hope.
The doctor shook his head. âWeâve already checked. Hoffman has died. His heart has stopped more than ten minutes ago.â The doctor glanced at Chen Zhao. âI donât know what your motive is, but I diagnosed him personally. Heâs already dead.â
âDid you hear that?â Reidra piped up. âTim, even the doctor says so.â
âI still hold my viewpoint. Heâs not dead, but heâs indeed about to die.â Chen Zhao glanced at Tim. âSir, if youâre willing to let your son live, then please give me and him a chance.â
Tim looked at him with glimmering eyes and then hesitantly glanced at Reidra and the doctor.
Just then, Faur spoke up. âSir, I trust my friendâs judgment.â
âMiss Faur, please consider your standpoint.â
âDoctor Cleat, isnât it clear enough? I support my friend.â Faur glanced at Tim. âSir, please give my friend a chance. Give your son a chance.â
âYou really can save him?â Tim obviously wished that his son was still alive, but he didnât want his sonâs body to be insulted.
Chen Zhao looked at Tim. Then he pulled back the white sheet. He discovered that the boy was the student that heâd given emergency treatment to in the classroom.
He reached out and pressed hard on the quxin acupoint. Everyone saw Hoffmanâs finger twitch.
âHeâs alive?! Hoffman is still alive! Heâs still aliveâŠâ Tim Waltz cried. âMy son is still alive. Heâs still alive.â
Reidra and Dr. Cleatâs expressions turned dark.
âI need a surgery room,â Chen Zhao said.
âSir,â Cleat said. âHe canât be saved. He was just pushed out of the surgery room. His ventricular malformation correction surgery failed, causing severe internal bleeding. He has no hope⊠Perhaps you gave him temporary muscle reaction, but that doesnât mean heâs still alive.â
âI need a surgery room!â Chen Zhao repeated.
âHurry, get him a surgery room! Hurry! Hurry!â
âMr. Tim, this doesnât follow the rules,â Cleat said.
âF*ck your rules,â Tim yelled. âGet my son and this man a surgery room right now, or else get the f*ck out of this hospital!â
âChen, room nine should be empty,â Faur said. âBut you better finish within two hours, because I have a surgery then.â
âPush him to room nine,â Chen Zhao said.
When they got there, Faur asked, âDo you need my help?â
âNo.â Chen Zhao shut the automatic door. It could only be opened from the inside now.
âTim, why do you trust that liar?â Reidra said, a bit frustrated.
âYeah. Itâs just a simple muscle reaction. It doesnât mean that Hoffman is still alive.â
Tim sat by the surgery roomâs door without speaking. The depressed look still hadnât disappeared.
âPlus, that liar brought a cat into the room. Doesnât he know that the room must be kept absolutely bacteria-free? He doesnât even have any common sense.â
âItâs Chenâs habit,â Faur said.
âAll of you shut up!â Tim yelled. âI donât want to hear any nonsense before the result comes out.â
âŠ
Chen Zhao put on his gloves and reopened Hoffmanâs chest. There was a blood cot in his trachea. The surgery had failed, so the stitches were done quite carelessly.
They didnât even use any gel. This gel was used after surgeries for wounded organs to recover and mend. It was a biological gel and most often used for gastric perforation.
Chen Zhao first used Soul Shock to shock Hoffmanâs soul.
Hoffmanâs eyes flew open. A suffocating feeling seized him instantly.
âKeep calm. I know you feel horrible right now, but you must keep going. Pretend youâre underwater.â
Chen Zhao dripped a droplet of perfect crystal potion into his mouth. This drop was the purest life essence. It nourished Hoffmanâs body. He was still in pain, but at least it was bearable now.
âGo to sleep now.â
Chen Zhao hypnotized Hoffman and made him fall asleep. Then he used magic, demon medicine, and Chinese medicine all at once to perform surgery on Hoffman.
His biggest problem right now was his abnormal heart. If Chen Zhao could cut off the abnormal part, then Hoffman would have hope of survival.
To make sure he could stay in his best state, Chen Zhao cast himself a spell for sharp thinking. This made his brain extremely clear. He knew exactly what he needed to do.
After cutting off the abnormal membrane, Chen Zhao stitched up the heart. He also added in gel while giving Hoffman another drop of the perfect crystal potion.
âEnergy!â Chen Zhao urged.
Hoffmanâs heart jumped abruptly. Just then, the clotted blood in his trachea spewed out of his nose as air started moving through. Instead of stitching him up, Chen Zhao checked Hoffmanâs heart.
He realized that even though Hoffmanâs heart was beating again, it wasnât strong enough. For one, he was too weak right now. It was also because his heart was weak in the first place.
This wasnât a problem that could be solved in a day. After ensuring that Hoffmanâs heart was stable, Chen Zhao stitched him up.
He gave Hoffman another Soul Shock. The boy started panting loudly.
âIâŠAm I dead?â
âNot right now.â Chen Zhao patted Hoffmanâs cheeks. âHow do you feel?â
