âFaith is right next door. You can go over whenever you want.â
âNo, we agreed with Faith to see whoâs dog is bigger.â
Risfar was speechless. A childâs world was honestly impossible to understand.
Just then, a black Doberman ran out. It was the same age as Ronnie and Vera, but it was already really big. Its name was Laffer. Its parents all had pure lineages, especially its father. It had won a gold medal at a world dog contest. Its mother was the largest Doberman in the world.
Laffer was born with excellent genes. After maturing, its shoulder height was 80 centimeters tall and it weighed 50 kilograms. It was already bigger than other adult Dobermans.
It didnât have its motherâs super height, but it was still a giant amongst giants.
âHow big is that little Faith? Youâre bullying her.â
âSheâs not one yet, but she said Laffer is tiny. I donât think so.â
âYeah, yeah. Laffer is the biggest and coolest.â
Risfar felt that this was just bullying. He planned on visiting his neighbors to apologize. After all, his kids should be the older sisters. They couldnât treat little kids like this.
Ronnie and Vera took Laffer into the yard to play. Risfar saw through the floor-to-ceiling window that they jumped into the pool while Laffer stood on land, panicking.
Laffer was scared of water. It hadnât experienced it before, so it was afraid. Whenever it saw the two kids playing in the water, Laffer would bark but never dared to jump in.
The scene was laughable. This was another characteristic of Dobermans. They were friendly to humans.
Actually, dogs all knew how to swim. It was a natural ability.
âManus, find out for me whoâs living beside us.â
âMr. Risfar, thereâs no need. Iâve already checked before you moved in. Your neighbor is a playboy. Heâs CAAâs stockholder, named Devon Dell. Heâs 28 years old.â
Risfar changed his outfit and went to visit his neighbor. After all, he didnât come just for Loraâs condition. He also planned on entering the American market.
He would live here for a long time, so socializing was necessary. At least, he hoped he wouldnât have a bad relationship with his neighbors.
Risfar brought Ronnie and Vera along to the next-door neighbor. He rang the doorbell and a voice sounded from the machine. âWho is it?â
âHello, is this Mr. Devon Dell? Iâm Risfar. I just moved in next door and I hope to become acquainted.â
âSure, the doorâs open. Please come in⊠Faith, donât put the corn snake in your mouth. You canât eat it⊠Mary, please help me watch her.â
âMr. Dell, please put the snake into the glass tank after youâre done playing,â Mary retorted. âDonât toss it onto the sofa.â
Risfar grew nervous hearing that. He brought Ronnie and Vera into the manor. It was much smaller than his own, but the environment was nice. Just then, a tiny girl ran out of the mansion before him. She couldnât be more than one year old, but she ran like the wind and had a huge snake in her hands.
A man chased after her. It was probably Devon Dell, along with Mary.
âFaith, donât run so fast. Slow down, slow down⊠Be careful, youâll fall.â
Risfar was even more nervous. This girl wasnât the typical kind of strong.
âAhâŠRonnie, VeraâŠâ Faith saw them and immediately sped up. She clutched the snake as if offering up a gift. âFor you.â
The snake tried to escape from her hands, but Faith grabbed it tightly. Ronnie and Vera didnât dare to accept it. Thankfully, Dell and Mary ran over now.
âFaith, donât hurt the corn snake anymore. Donât you see how pitiful it looks?â
Risfar composed himself and looked at Dell. âHello, Mr. Dell.â
âHello, Mr. Risfar.â
âPuppy, puppy, puppy!â Faith suddenly called at Laffer. âCome here!â
Faith waddled over, trying to grab Laffer, but the dog wriggled away and ran to Risfarâs side.
âMr. Dell, do you have a dog too?â
âNo.â Dell shook his head.
âYour daughter seems to really like dogs.â
âMy friend has dogs. He brings his pets over when he visits and Faith always rides his dogs around.â
âAre his dogs big?â
âThere are big and small ones.â
âNo wonder. Ronnie and Vera came home saying that Faith wants to compete whoâs dog is bigger tomorrow.â
âReally?â Dell turned around. âFaith, you want to compete with Ronnie and Vera? But you donât have a dog.â
âI donât, but Uncle does. White Ma, Black Ma, and Walter are mine. All mine!â
âYour uncle might not be free tomorrow.â
âItâs okay. Can we steal Black Ma, White Ma, and Walter?â
âBut they might not be at home.â
Risfar waited patiently as the father and daughter spoke.
Back then, heâd been immersed in these kinds of conversations too. Conversations with kids were filled with youthfulness and imagination. He could understand how Dell felt while talking to Faith. There was joy and warmth.
âMr. Risfar, donât take kids seriously. Thereâs nothing to compete over.â
âItâs true. Laffer is the third biggest Doberman in the world. Itâs truly unsuitable for kids to compete over.â
âIâm afraid your daughters will feel hurt.â
âYou mean Laffer will lose?â
âOf course. Your dogâs named Laffer? He looks really small. I didnât think Mr. Risfar would like to raise small dogs.â
âLaffer, small? I havenât seen a dog bigger than him yet.â

âThen I guess you just havenât seen enough. My friendâs three dogs are all bigger than Laffer. Heâll just be a puppy before him.â
âThen letâs compare tomorrow. I hope you can find a dog bigger than Laffer.â
It had only been a joke between kids, but it ended up as a competition between two competitive adults. As for the three kids, theyâd already started playing, ignoring the two glaring adults.
