Fali came back in the evening and realized that Chen Zhao had come home earlier than her.

“Chen, you didn’t go out today?”

“I did and then came back.” Chen Zhao grabbed Fali’s hand and pulled her into his lap.

A while later, Faur and a nurse pushed little John into the surgery room. The nurse was surprised to see another doctor there. “Go out first,” Faur told her. “Hand this to me.”

“Oh, okay.” After the nurse left, Chen Zhao looked at Faur. “Bring Faith over.”

“Do you need help in treating little John?”

“No need.” Chen Zhao shook his head.

Faur was disappointed. She’d wanted to secretly learn from him, but Chen Zhao didn’t even give her the chance.

“Petty *ss,” Faur complained before leaving the room.

Chen Zhao first checked little John’s heartbeat and other indicators. He was in bad shape. The tumor was already on his nerve and he’d been unconscious for 12 hours without waking up.

Chen Zhao didn’t immediately give him the demonic crystal. Instead, he gave him the potion made from brewing the Never-wilting Flower in the Soul Return Spring of Hell. “Go out.”

Chen Zhao carried her out of the room. Faur was waiting outside the door. Seeing Chen Zhao come out so quickly, she was shocked. “You’re done?”

“Done. You can push little John out now.”

Faur pushed little John back to the ICU and took some samples. Chen Zhao stayed in Faith’s room. More than an hour passed when Faur entered with shock written all over her face.

“Chen, you really did it! John’s tumor is reducing in size quickly. You really did it…”

“Okay, we promised,” Chen Zhao said. “I already did it, so what’s next is all you. My friend is coming tomorrow. Take Faith for a checkup again. After the results come out, tell my friend. Just say that there was an error in the test yesterday and there are no problems with the eyes.”

Chen Zhao and Faur yelped at the same time. They saw someone standing at the window. It was Dell. The curtain had been pulled, so they didn’t notice his presence until he made a sound.

“Dell, why are you here?”

“Sleeping…”

“Why are you sleeping here?”

“To look after Faith…In the movies, the parents always have to stay with their kid in the hospital.”

Chen Zhao turned to Faur. “You didn’t notice him when you came for the kid?”

“The lights were off so I didn’t notice.” Faur felt awkward too. She definitely didn’t expect that Dell would be here the whole time. “Why didn’t you make a sound when I came for the child?”

“I was asleep.”

“When did you wake up?”

“When you two were talking.”

“What did you hear?”

“Everything.” Fear appeared on Dell’s face. “You’re not going to kill me, right?”
